'Clara's stone house is beautifully decorated in her wonderful whimsical style and had everything we needed for a fantastic 3 days. But most important Clara went out of her way to share her knowledge of the area, book a table for us at the Fada restaurant, meet us in person with cake and Port and in a warm and hospitable way make sure our needs were met.'

'This place in Gaia is great because we love to walk everywhere. We are a family of 5 with older teens. It is very close to the cables car entrance, which is great at sunset, and close to wonderful restaurants. Douro-Velho was so good that we went there twice for dinner in the short 3 nights that we stayed in Gaia. We are already planning our next trip to Portugal because we really needed more time. And we can’t wait to see it again soon. This is a great place to visit and spend a least a week.'

'We had a very pleasant stay. The house is as you can see in the pictures, not an average holiday home. The furniture in the bedrooms is lovely and antique. As a consequence we found the bed a little uncomfortable to share. 'Great location for access to airport and Porto. Beautiful two bed apartment with pool. Hosts were charming and spoke English. It was a perfect last night before our cruise, but would make a good base for exploring north of Porto.'

'The house suited our group of 4 couples very well. We appreciated having our own bathrooms. We loved picking oranges and lemons in the backyard. (Middle April) Picking oranges took some climbing, however. Also, be prepared to climb stairs in the house. Artur the host was very quick to respond to any Communication I had with him.'
