'Cabin-like rental across the street from the lake and a 2-3 minute's walk to the causeway. Bed is comfortable, and there is a nice deck out front and there are kayaks, which we not able to use, but it's a nice feature. A few caveats: if you have mobility issues, you might want to avoid this place because you have to walk on grass a fair stretch to get from the driveway. The bathroom is not that private: the ceiling is completely open. There were also a lot of mosquitos.'

'The place is private, peaceful, clean and well maintained. Dave, the owner, even warned us of an approaching storm and advised us on how to protect screen porch furniture upholstery from getting wet, so communication was excellent, too. '

'We stayed here for the second time because I find it so enjoyable. The view is beautiful and it’s only about 15 minutes from UVM. A perfect place for a small group (if you can do stairs). It’s an older cottage with a lot of character; mismatched dishes, small stove/oven, slightly uneven floors, fun knickknacks everywhere, beautiful views of Mallett’s Bay, and lots of windows. Gordon and Beverly are super nice and easy to chat with.'

'Beds were comfortable and the 3 season porch was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the view of the water from the house. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. At night we could hear tree frogs calling on the other side of the road, which was fun. There's also a park nearby with walking trails, and a grocery store close by. Zachary's Pizza is also close and we had an excellent pizza there. It was about 20 minutes to downtown Burlington. A very relaxing place to stay, so glad we found it!'

'Everything we needed was available, and even some nice bonus items. Great variety of kitchen and cooking supplies. Great items for kids, toys and books and activities. Great location, an easy, livable cottage.'

'We were very excited to arrive at this beautiful location, however, the listing doesn't accurately describe this rental. Be aware that the windows don't close properly (or at all), there is a lot of noise during the night, properly critters. This unit is above someone and the neighbors are quite close. Very nice ferry driver! If you are into a glamping experience, it is worth it, but the price should reflect this.'

'I had a great experience at this property! It was the perfect place to watch the eclipse, and made a a great home base. I was pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was, as far as dining ware and cookware goes. We needed to call Albert to turn up the heat, but he arrived promptly and was very pleasant to interact with. We loved the decor of the place, and would love to return if we find ourselves in the neighborhood again.'

'We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite bad weather all week. The property is as described. The view was lovely and we appreciated how quiet the neighborhood was. We cooked most of our meals. The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of dishes, cutlery, pots & pans. The only potential issue is that the stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms are very steep, as others have noted, and our dog wasn’t able to climb them. Other than that, the place was very comfortable and it was great to get away.'

'Heron Dance cottage was a quiet and peaceful getaway. In a great location, this cottage was well outfitted for preparing meals, contained comfortable furniture and the bed was firm. The views out to the Lake were exceptional. The landing and the way down to the Lake made for easy swimming. Jan was friendly and approachable. The neighborhood roads facilitated daily walks. We highly recommend this property.'

'If you are good with an authentic rustic environment- complete with small rodent catch and release trap under the stairs, a little water coming in the bedroom ceiling when it rains, bugs galore, and supplying your own drinking water— then OK. Everyone else consider yourselves forewarned. There has been absolutely no maintenance done on this property in decades. The local staff are wonderful.'

'This was an amazing spot for our extended family of 11, ranging in age from 10 to 80. The house, and exterior decks/patios, was spacious enough so that you could find a place to yourself whenever you wanted. The home is beautiful and the loft area and open kitchen/living/dining was lovely. But without a doubt the lakefront areas were the highlight of the property. 'This is a perfect getaway! The setting is absolutely serene and stunning. The cottage is nestled on a rock overlooking the lake, and is very private. A winding and scenic path takes you down to a sandy beach, in a beautiful little cove. The cottage itself is well supplied and very comfortable! It has a rustic charm to it. The large screened in porch was a great place to spend time as a family. This was an actually very relaxing vacation!'

'We rented this house for a short visit for the 2024 solar eclipse. Had a great view of the sun over Lake Champlain! The house was perfect for my wife and me with our 20 month old toddler - just needed a baby gate to keep her from dashing up to the loft.'

'Some trouble getting in but could have been some user error. The lock is a little different and it spins so can be confusing. The owners checked in quite a bit until they could get in. The only other trouble was the second shower had no hot water. Had to use 1 shower for everyone. Only there for a long weekend so unable to be fixed that quick, understandable. Owner was very respectful and responsive. The home was very clean and tidy. Seems like everyone was comfortable in the beds as well....
