After an initial problem with my original room, I requested a new room and was given one with no problems. However, the new room was not as clean as it could have been, and I spent about 30 minutes cleaning before I settled in (at 2:30AM). Overall, this particular hotel could be much more sanitary, and pay more attention to its main problem, which will get worse if not probably treated.
Other than that, the internet was rather good in my room, which makes for an excellent working environment over Zoom and other web-conferencing platforms. Ibis should make sure that there is a water kettle in each room with tea and coffee options, and if a client elects to not have cleaning service and towel changes, then the cleaning crew should not leave clean towels on the outside of the door, as that is also a waste of towels, and is bad for the environment.
This hotel is located near a grocery store and some wonderful restaurants that have good take-out options, including Dutch pannekoek (Oudt Leyden), decent sushi (Ichi-ban), wonderful Indonesian (Selera Anda), standard pizza options (Domino's and New York Pizza), a new poke bowl place (Moana), a fish stand for kibbeling and lekkerbek (Atlantic, in front of the station), and options within the station. The location is fantastic.
