The staff were amazing, friendly & welcoming! All staff went beyond just helpful. The property is historic but has been updated. The dinner & breakfast was wonderful. Breakfast was a full Welsh or Continental-beautifully served. I believe it is under relatively new ownership who have put a great deal of effort into this hotel. We enjoyed our stay there.

Comfortable hotel with lovely food
Lovely, comfortable room, overlooking the street down to the pretty little town. The food in their Italian restaurant was superb, if a little slow in arriving, but worth the wait when cooked fresh. Owner Stephano and his assistant Sharrif were very friendly and welcoming.

Scaffolding on the front.. Our windows dirty from work being done. No staff around. Nobody else around. Interior dark. On Sunday hotel shut completely, only access to rooms and that was from back of hotel. Internet not working all the time. Only Italian food in restaurant with limited menu. No lounge area to sit. Very overpriced for the facilities.

Hi Paul, Thank you for this two-star review. While we appreciate your insightful review of our hotel and restaurant, I would like to clear up some confusion. Firstly, on arrival, we offered a selection of two rooms, one being your room of choice. This exception was given to you because of the scaffolding in front of the hotel, but you denied the offer to stay in a room overlooking our courtyard, instead of your choice located at the front of the hotel, with a view of the park that the scaffolding does not obstruct and that you did not complain about for the duration of your stay. Neither did you complain about the supposed lack of internet access, which one of our many active members of staff could have assisted you with. Another topic discussed on your arrival was the 3 different entrances, being through the front of the hotel (while the restaurant and bar are open), as well as the back and side door (the main entrances to the hotel rooms). Your room was located directly at the top of a short stairwell, accessible like all rooms via the side door, which your room key unlocked - so I am shocked to hear that your entrance of choice was through the back of the hotel and the car park. I am also shocked to read that our Italian restaurant, clearly advertised in your booking with us, has only a 'limited' two-page menu with a selection of six starters, nine mains (divided into pasta-based and meat-based dishes), and five desserts. If a ten-page menu was more to your preference, you would possibly be more satisfied by a fast food chain restaurant rather than our freshly prepared and constantly changing selection of dishes. Your review also states that there is 'no lounge area to sit', and I apologise if our 3 different large rooms of seating in the main bar, with art by local artists portrayed on the walls, was not enough space for you. I can also assure you that our hotel is open on Sundays, as we offer an extended lunch until 3 pm, as well as the bar being open until night. By reading your review, I almost have the feeling that you were staying in a completely different hotel. It is clear that this could have all been cleared by a simple conversation, which you were seemingly reluctant to have. It is disappointing to us that we could not satisfy your needs, although we cannot fix problems that were never addressed. Hope this clears your confusion! Keira

Historic old hotel currently undergoing renovations. Unfortunately it smells quite musty. Conveniently located to the pier and downtown. Food is authentic Italian, but we found it quite bland. Dessert was delicious.

Friendly staff, comfortable room. All in walking distance of the town. Dinner and breakfast in the hotel were fabulous. Bar staff were great - all very accommodating.

Dear RichardQuite funny you complained about breakfast when in fact you booked a room at a cheaper rate and without breakfast ! Surely a Grade II listed mansion built in the 1800s by a pupil of John Nash may have some squeaky floorboards :-). It adds to the charm a lot of people would say. We took on board your punctual suggestion for a front door makeover and this is now been done. Or maybe we did figure it out by ourselves and oops both the carpenter and joiner were actually working on the front door at the time of your stay with us :-) Our breakfast doesn't need to be pre-booked. Simply, as it is normal practice in hospitality, we ask guests what time they would like to have breakfast. As the classic British fry is cooked fresh and to order we want to avoid guests waiting unnecessarily. As far as the kitchen being closed on Sunday night (but only after an extended lunch opening time) and on Monday we are really sorry but virtually 100% of the restaurants have a weekly day of rest.Hopefully you will have better luck with your accommodation elsewhere.Kindest regards,Stefano

This Listed hotel is being updated by Stefano and Brid who are creating something special in this attractive part of Wales. The food is as good as anything we have eaten anywhere in Italy, this couple ran a successful hotel in Tuscany before coming to Wales and it shows.

A wonderful hotel
The Feathers Royal Hotel is superb. Clean as a pin, comfortable and very welcoming. The staff, without exception, are friendly, helpful and extremely approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. It has an Italian restaurant serving authentic Italian dishes - out of this world! I would recommend this hotel to anyone requiring a comfortable break with friendly hosts and staff. 5 star hotel? I would give it six!!

Pleasant Diamond Jubilee holiday break. There was an issue with a leaking shower, and breakfast was very late on one morning of our stay. I took my grandchildren, who were most impressed with the park opposite the Hotel. Lovely location and we would return.

Comfortable and well situated and a good breakfast
Initially felt a bit dated and didnt find the manager very welcoming and he didnt show us where breakfast would be served so we had to wander till we found it but the staff are a credit to the place and made it for us. Found out the hotel is gradually being updated as only taken over just prior to pandemic. Everything we needed for an overnight stay and comfortable stay and i would go back

Advert photos very outdated. Room smelt musty. Worst bed I had ever slept on had to put a cushion over top of depression in mattress. Very overpriced , hotel is extremely tired stopped in a lot better for a lot less money. Will never be returning

On the 20th of september i was ment to stay in the Feathers Royal hotel Aberaeron. 0n the 24th of September I was within 5 mils of reaching the hotel i was called to say that there was no room booked for mee.I called the hotel and they said thay had booked me in B/B AROSFA for the same price,i ended paying £30 more for a 2star B/b not a 5star Hotel as advertised . i would like your comments before going to the trading standards.
