Intercontinental is a great brand. I am a very frequent visitor and always loved my stays. But this hotel has 2 faces: services and people are on IHG level Good to great staff. But the accommodation has passed its shelf life; sleeping rooms, bath rooms and some public places are way below IC level. Some more explanation:The rooms - ours was on the Club floor - are in big need of complete renovation, there is too much silicone kit patchwork. Wear and tear is visible everywhere. Towels and bathrobes are sometimes torn and worn out. Bath room sink is too dirty(silicone again). Shower is not working properly. Wall plugs that are unstable. Telephone plug does not connect anymore to the phone etc etc. Here I stop. Small things but too many of them in this hotel. The whole hotel needs a revamp to bring it to the level of the great Intercontinental brand. I feel sorry for the well-trained , firendly and very attentive staff, but we will not come back in IC Abu Dhabi until it has been modernized

Fijn hotel nabij strand, haventje en restaurants
Heerlijke week gehad in een hotel waar het personeel altijd voor je klaar staat. Prima rustig strandje waar je goede cocktails kunt drinken. Na een dag op stap te zijn geweest, is het fijn dat er diverse, prima restaurants in de buurt zijn. Zeker in het Belgisch cafe is altijd gezellig; wel vreemd om hier bitterballen te eten, maar Belgisch bier is overal lekker!

Fantastisch hotel
Dit is een super aangenaam hotel, super proper, mooi uitzicht.Het ruikt fantastisch overal. de kamer was super proper en het personeel fantastisch vriendelijk. Je bagage wordt naar de kamer gebracht, de auto wordt voor je geparkeerd en bij ieder contact wordt gevraagd of ze met iets kunnen helpen. ze voorzien constant water en komen met gratis watermeloen langs aan het zwembad. een super aanrader

Great hotel, great location
Mooie kamer met fraai uitzicht. Executive lounge was goed verzorgd, zeker aan te raden. Goed bed. Op loopafstand van de corniche met leuke bars/cafés.

Leuk hotel met heel veel voorz. doch navragen aub!
Dit hotel geboekt gezien de voorzieningen en de prijs van de aangeboden kamer voor 3 personen (volw.). Bij aankomst bleek de kamer veel te klein tot zeer krap voor 3 pers., hetgeen wij aangaven niet te zullen accepteren. Pas toen wij dreigden met de annulering (door expedia te bellen) werd ons een wat ruimer kamer aangeboden met een kingsize 2-pers, bed en een extra bed. Deze kamer was veel ruimer en konden ons hierin vinden. Als tegemoetkoming voor het ongemak kregen wij 1 x ontbijt aangeboden, hetgeen wij heel attent vonden. Voor de rest is het personeel heel erg attent en je hoeft maar effe wat aan te geven en er wordt naar gehandeld. Vb een ruimere taxi ivm de koffers van 3 pers. heeft men perfect voor ons opgelost bij vertrek! M'n complimenten hiervoor. Wel zelf goed nakijken dat je datgene krijgt of wordt gedaan wat je hebt aangegeven. Later merkten wij dat het grootste zwembad (v/d Bayshore) in onderhoud was hetgeen nergens was aangegeven toen. Dat vonden wij wel een minpunt voor verbetering vatbaar! Je merkt dat het hotel al enige tijd bestaat gezien schilderwerk kozijnen etc. Maar dat mocht de pret niet bederven. WiFi vrij was een hele verademing; zouden meer hotels in Abu Dhabi moeten doen! Strand was heel erg leuk, maar verwacht geen volledig open zee en golven, maar prima diep en schoon water om in te zwemmen. Voorzieningen bij het ander zwembad op de 3e etage (doeken en coolbox m/mineraal water gratis:-)) gaf je net dat extra vakantiegevoel en verwend te worden.

a memory of the past
Our first few days in Abu Dhabi, a memory of the past. Despite it being one of the oldest hotels in Abu Dhabi it is beautifully maintained and the rooms are excellent. Staff is very friendly and service is of high standard. A disappointment for me, remembering many years ago, is the total absense of a seaview because of manmade islands and buildings where the old dhow wharf used to be, blocking the view which realy is a shame but seen all around Abu Dhabi. All in all a pleasant stay, easy to explore Abu Dhabi city provided you have your own transport.

Eccellente hotel situato in una zona tranquilla. Camera spaziosa e confortevole, molto pulita. Eccellente sotto tutti i punti di vista , colazione , ristoranti , personale e servizi. Una nota particolare va a tutto il personale sempre gentile e sorridente, la pulizia é fantastica. Hotel da consigliare assolutamente.

Very nice, contemporary hotel with well-built rooms and walk-in showers. Nice views of the water from many rooms. Great private beach area with a great spa. Only complaint is with the gym. It has a good arrangement of equipment, including weightlifting equipment (my priority), but much of the equipment has rust on it and it makes you question the safety/maintenance and how frequently it's done on things like cables, pulleys, etc. Also, dumbbells only go up to 70lbs - would be nice to have heavier.

Det var smutsig rum vid incheckning. Housekeeping , det var en kvinna som var stressad, hon glömde handdukar, sopor, städ dag 2 Overall ok. Frukost personal jätte trevlig, och bra frukost.. Rezaul från Housekeeping var serviceminded och trevlig, Men vi kommer inte stanna här igen.

This is not a property to make you go wow, but neither is the price for this type of hotel. It’s a really good, functional resort close to the heart of Abu Dhabi. We really enjoyed our stay here, we felt comfortable and looked after by the staff. The rooms are from a previous generation, however they are spacious and functional. Try and get the highest floor possible to try and minimise the street racing that was taking place, if you got some spare money, pay for a sea/marina view room which will solve that problem!

Ho soggiornato in questo hotel per 4 notti e sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita dalla cura degli ambienti e dalla pulizia. Personale estremamente professionale, gentile e solerte nel soddisfare le richieste. Spiaggia e piscina curate. Posizione strategica per visitare la città di Abu Dhabi. Grazie ai suggerimenti di Darius (concierge) ho potuto organizzare uno splendido safari nel deserto.

Friendly and professional team and a great location. The team in reception, the concierge, the pool team, the restaurant team are all extremely professional and a credit to the hotel. The shared facilities including reception and the pools are good. The rooms could do with a bit of a refresh but are perfectly adequate. Very enjoyable winter break at this great location. Thank you.

You need to improve two things. 1. The lady welcomed us wasnt qualified speaking English properly. she is almost mumbling words and a bit hard to understand. The funny fact is I was born in Australia and a native speaker. 2. Someone called me in a room at 11:25, asking we are checking out or extend our stay. It is pretty rude calling directly in a room before noon and encouraged us to check out quick. This is pretty rude and funny

This is a beautiful hotel with fantastic faciltiies. There are several gorgeous dining options. The pools are lovely and the beach is such a lovely space too. There are places to walk to around and about but it is too hot for this really and it is very easy and cheap to take a taxi. If you want the waterpark and Yas island nightlife then this hotel is a good half an hour taxi ride from Yas island. however, the location for us was perfect and we were happy to travel to Island on 2 occasions rather than stay out there. The staff were just brilliant at the Intercontinental and I felt a real sense of welcoming and family friendliness, nothing was ever too much for them! I would recommend that it is worth taking the all inclusive offer. Drinks and food are expensive and so the 'All inclusive' works really well and is excellent value. There are several fantastic hotels on site and I would really recommend these, otherwise it is a taxi drive to somewhere else to eat. However, if you do want to go out and about then the hotel are flexible with the all inclusive and we were able to take it on a day to day basis which is brilliant. Loved our stay here thank you!

This is a beautiful 5 1/2 star hotel. The concierge could not be more helpful and accommodating. All staff are excellent. After one morning's breakfast almost all restaurant staff knew your name and what you liked. I cannot praise this hotel's staff enough. It’s one of the few hotels in Abu Dhabi (probably the only one) with smoking and nonsmoking rooms, two beds per room, and pork served in one restaurant.

Great stay but some issues
We loved our stay. Friendly check in/front desk staff: Inna & Mona Liza. Great lifeguard from Cameroon (didn’t ask his name) and also Sabina from Nepal in the restaurant at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. We had technical issues in room 1709 with the USB charging points not working and the wardrobe light would not turn off. These were immediately fixed after I’d reported them. The towels weren’t all great - we had soft fluffy ones and this one with a hole. I also discovered what might have been chocolate chips on the carpet beside the bed/bedside cabinet.
