Lochshiel caravans 2 Acharacle

De naam Acharacle komt van de Gaelische Ath Tharracail of de fjord van Torquil, na een gevecht in 1120 nabij de rivier de Shiel, tussen de Keltisch-Noorse krijger Somerled en de Noorse invaller Torquil hier,

Acharacle ligt op de Ardnamcurchan Penisula die erg populair is vanwege het vissen, wandelen en het prachtige landschap. Bootverhuur en cruises zijn beschikbaar op Loch Shiel en Loch Sunart, waar u kunt genieten van walvissen spotten en vogels spotten.
Het is 10 minuten rijden van de caravans naar het mooie strand van Artoe of je kunt naar het zingende zand lopen. Dorlin Castel of kasteel Tioram is een oud ruïnekasteel op 10 minuten afstand.
De caravans liggen op loopafstand van Acharacle met een winkel, eetgelegenheden en postkantoor.
Als het weer niet zo goed is, kun je een ritje maken en de Ardnamurchan Lighthouse bezoeken, het meest westelijke punt op het Britse vasteland en onderweg kun je stoppen bij de Adelphi-distilleerderij en het Glenmore Natural History Centre ... Of je kunt naar Glenfinnan gaan, de beroemdste stoomtrein of we noemen het 'de Harry Potter-trein', en bezoek het monument van Bonnie Prince Charlie.

We had a good stay in the caravan. Every thing ok. But 1 suggestion: the matrasses are 70 cm wide and that was too small for us.

Gemütlicher Caravan in der Natur

Sehr schöne Lage in einem gemütlichen Caravan mit Blick auf einen Fluss. Sehr sauber, Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Im Ort ist ein Cafe und ein Lebensmittelladen. Glenfinnan ist 45 min mit dem Auto entfernt. Das WLan ist kostenfrei, aber sehr schwach. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und per SMS immer erreichbar.

Communication from Karen leading up to our stay was excellent, meaning the caravan was very easy to find. Both in this communication and the handy folder in the caravan meant after a full day travelling and exploring getting there we were able to find somewhere to eat easily. Caravan itself was kitted out with everything we could possibly need. Beds were comfortable ensuring we had a good sleep. Area itself is beautiful with lots to explore. During our checkout Karen’s recommendation meant we spent a wonderful few hours exploring a castle right on the doorstep that we had missed. Can highly recommend, thank you for a wonderful stay! Was exactly what we both needed and we both wished we could have stayed for longer!

Loved staying at the caravan. It was spotlessly clean, and had all the crockery and utensils we needed. Gas fire, oven, 2 loos, all very useful and not always present in bigger properties. Good location for getting about. We were very happy staying here

We enjoyed our stay in static caravan. Our host Karen was very helpful. Good location to travel to all the scenic areas which are fabulous. Bedroom was very small with single beds when we had booked double but otherwise no problem. Kitchen and living area very comfortable with gas heater. There is a shop and hotel not too far away.

We had a fantastic few days and found the accommodation great and enjoyed the location. Karen gave us a warm welcome. Arisaig has a super pub with a fabulous and delicious selection of specials. Arisaig and Ardermurchan have wonderful beaches and local walks are great too.
