Oud vrijstaand stenen huisje in het land van Shakespeare

Een verscheidenheid aan ruimtes maakt dit een uitstekende locatie voor groepen, evenals de centrale positie in Engeland. Een voetpad naar het prachtige dorp Bidford op Avon loopt voor het huisje (1,5 km) met zijn winkels, pubs en een supermarkt. Als je verder gaat over de brug, zal je nog een mijl verder naar een geweldig klein dorpscafe de Cottage of Content in Barton brengen. Vrolijk en gastvrij! In de andere richting stijgt een pad boven het dorp en kan worden gevolgd naar het prachtige dorp Cleeve Prior. Daar vindt u een prachtige 15e-eeuwse kerk en een even oude pub, The Kings Arms. Met zijn balken, open haarden, echt bier en heerlijk eten is het ieders idee van een Engelse Country Pub. Er is een rustige route door de rijstroken naar de Stratford Greenway die fietstoegang geeft tot Stratford op Avon. De rivier de Avon zelf is slechts een paar honderd meter lopen en kinderen vinden het heerlijk om de boten te helpen de sluis bij Marlcliff te navigeren. Sommige gasten gaan zelfs vissen.

Quirky cottage in lovely location. Parking is a bit tight and first come first served. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room. Would be great in the summer, with nice garden and day room. Enjoyed using the log fire. Has everything you need, but a walk in shower would be advantageous.

Wonderful relaxing stay 5*

We were a group of 7 ranging from 24-86 & a dog - the cottage was an absolute home from home. Downstairs bathroom & bedroom meant my mum with mobility issues was comfortable. The tiled floors downstairs mean no worries about dirty feet and paws. The house is comfortable & homely, you don't feel like you are treading on eggshells as everything is well used (in a good way) so you're not scared about touching anything! It feels warm &relaxing. 5 mins drive to Bidford with takeaways and Co-op. Lovely river walk on the doorstep for the dog. Geoff was fab, lots of communication & everything you could ever need to know in the folders in the house. The only things to be aware of - which are specified in the listing - are that the parking is not right by the house (& you need to reverse out up the lane), garden isn't enclosed & you have to go through the single bedroom to get to the twin, the bathroom is downstairs. These minor "inconveniences" are more than made up for by the amount of space. All the bedrooms are spacious and the downstairs layout means everyone can be together but have their own space & there is plenty of seating for everyone to sit together by the fire or at the table. We had everything we needed to cook a full roast dinner (the slow cooker was a bonus!) The wood-burner is massive and wonderful. So all in all I can't recommend Geoff's cottage highly enough. If you want high end modern spec then it's not for you, but for cosy comfort in a home that feels loved 10/10

A beautiful picture postcard cottage. Comfortable bedrooms, big dining area for family meals and a cosy front room with an open fire. 20 minute walk to 2 local pubs and 25 minute walk to nearest town. Geoff the owner was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We will 100% visit again

A beautiful quaint cottage

Two adults and 4 children stayed in the cottage for 3 nights. The hamlet is quiet and pretty and the cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It is very homely and cost. We had fun lighting the fire and exploring the local area. Geoff is an excellent hodt.

Quaint Cottage in quiet Hamlet

My family and I have just spent a short stay in the most quaint cottage in a tucked away Hamlet. The cottage was full of history as parts were 500 years old. The grounds around the cottage were very pretty with tulips and other flowering bulbs. The cottage was exactly as advertised and the check in and out process was very easy to follow. Geoff the host made contact via email and then a phone call to make sure everything was as it should be. Our experience exceeded our expectations and we would definately highly recommend this property.

The cottage was a great base for local walks along the river Avon and nearby hamlets. Beautiful gardens and excellent facilities in the cottage to make us feel at home. The lovely fire in the evenings was an added bonus.

I can't come up with enough words to describe this property...it was the quintessential English cottage! Geoff, the owner is one of the nicest people I have met, helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this property if you want to experience the essence of England.

Beautiful Cottage, great for a group

The cottage is stunning and works well for a group, with lots of space which is rare for such a picturesque and extremely old cottage. Lovely walks and a great spot to explore the cotswolds. The garden isn't enclosed so slightly tricky with dogs, but worked fine in the end. Was lovely to meet Geoff and hear about the place too. Brilliant stay, thanks.
