Perfect Stay
Five of my college friends and I stayed at this property for our winter Steelhead trip. It was perfect. Everyone had a place to sleep. We were one block away from the local dive bar and pub (Altmar hotel) and we were only 1.5-2 blocks away from the lower fly fishing zone. There is a smart TV in the living room, a grill, a well stocked kitchen, four bedrooms, and a plethora of interesting taxidermists to stare at and ponder with you friends. My friends and I all agreed that there isn’t a better property for a guys trip to the salmon river. Book here.

We can’t get enough of this beautiful home!
Jen & Todd are literally the most accommodating and attentive couple we’ve ever rented from on VRBO! Year over year they have gone out of their way to increase the value, through their hospitality this beautiful rental already provides. Both myself and my group are always so thankful to have such a beautiful house to stay in for our annual salmon fishing trip! Thanks again for a great weekend, there’s no place we’d rather stay!

A fisherman's dream home
I really don't want to give an excellent review because I want this home all to myself haaaa. Communication with the owners was amazing. The house was user friendly in all ways the beds were very clean the house was amazingly clean. I can't begin enough to say that This house is going to be our or home when we come up during fishing season during fishing season every year. This beautiful and comfortable house is one stop shopping has everything you need all you need to do is just go grocery shopping once. The house warming gifts were just amazing thank you very much for putting your time and effort into it... The husband and wife duo definitely put some care and love into this house thank you guys again see you next year... PS I might come back with my wife and kids.

Church Inn
We had a great time on our fishing trip staying at this converted church home. The accommodations were comfortable and fit our needs. The decor of the home was perfect for our crew, the mounts of fish and animals set a nice tone as a fishing camp. I would recommend this property and hope to stay there next year.

Fantastic Little Inn
While clearly a fishing lodge (and it is absolutely perfect for that purpose), we had friends getting married at the Tailwater, and the location of the house was perfect. Our friends who dropped by loved the barn doors and wood floors, and we also loved that we were greeted with local treats from the hosts. Definitely would recommend and would stay there again!

Amazing place to stay
We were a group of five young fishing buddies on a weekend fishing trip and were blown away by the refurbished church. It had such character and the taxidermy was top notch! It is situated in small town and was an easy walk to local stores and the river. Todd and Jen were very communicative and hospitable leaving some treats from their farm. Would definitely go back and stay for a fishing trip, but would also like to vacation here with my family.

Great stay at the Church… nicest place I have stayed in the area…. That goes back to the mid-70’s…. Cannot do better if you’re there for fishing…Todd and Jenn are great hosts… professional and generous… don’t get caught up in the Church thing… this place is a paradise… you stay once and you will be back

What a great house!!
Hands down, the best rental we’ve ever stayed at and I’ve been going up to the SR for almost 20 years. A big open floor plan, big deck, walking distance to the river and local pubs. Everyone in my party was blown away by all the mounts. Literally everything about this rental is first class. Todd even turned us on to a great fly pattern that I caught 3 brown trout on. Can’t wait to go back!

Old church is nice place, interior is nicely done, only 1 bathroom, other than that owner is responsive and for fishing or sledding location could not be better, for a week long stay would be nice to be able to use the washer, overall really great place to be at the end of the day, nice open space to social at days end, dinner table and kitchen are great as is television area, really comfortable for 3 to 4 people, would definitely stay here again

Unique with great location
Walkable to the salmon river , great renovations/property, kitchen was loaded with tools and extras, host was very helpful, and amazing game collection on the walls. Highly recommended for fisherman.

Going to church was never like this
We were four salmon fishermen over the age of 70, so when nature came calling, there was no stalling, There is one bathroom in this wonderfully repurposed building. We knew that feature going in, but thoughtful layout maximized the remaining space. With an impressive collection of taxidermy, identifying each species of fish became a pop quiz. Looking for a more interesting and convenient Altmar location would be "on a wing and a prayer".

This place is an absolute must!!
Very spacious and unique spot in Altmar!! My family and myself rented this beautiful old church While we were up for a wedding! it was everything and more!! Beautiful porch and backyard, the house is adorned with taxidermied fish, birds and mammals, super cool!!! Todd and Jenn were amazing and attentive, they put out wine, homemade soap and handmade thank you letters! It’s very rare to find such gracious hosts! I would definitely stay again and again!

Fort Drum Visit
This property was so cool! We stayed with our four children to visit with our son stationed at Fort Drum about 45 minutes away. The owners were very attentive and communicative and left lots of great gifts from their family farm. The place was clean and safe. Plan ahead to fish and hire a guide to four wheel. Hike Salmon River Falls too!

Jen and I were happy to see that Mary and her family had a great time at the church. They were very nice people and we were glad there whole family got together for the Labor Day weekend.
