Ambachtelijke stijl 350 vierkante voet houten frame efficiëntie cottage op de eerste verdieping, zijvleugel van het Carriage House Chalet en omvat: een slaapkamer met een kingsize bed, complete badkamer met voorzieningen, woonkamer met een dubbele lederen futon slaper, flatscreen kabel-tv , WiFi en kitchenette - inclusief magnetron, koffiezetapparaat, broodrooster, compleet servies, gootsteen en toegang tot buitengrill met zijbrander. Geniet van een prachtig houten frame tuinhuisje overdekte hot tub genesteld in de bomen op het prachtige 2 hectare grote landgoed.
Het Chalet, een 1860 vierkante voet houten frame Barn, werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 2005 om te worden gebruikt door eigenaar Jake Thompsons als zijn houtwinkel, opslag voor de koets en harnassen en kraampjes voor de twee Percheron-trekpaarden, Kobuk & Tecumseh "de jongens" gebruikt in de koetsbranche, met een hooizolder erboven. In 2010 waren de jongens met pensioen, en in de jaren na de renovatie begonnen ze met het schuren van alle prachtige Douglas Fir-houtsoorten en het transformeren van een eens rustieke kamer naar mooi ingerichte luxe appartementen in ambachtelijke stijl. De koetshuis-chaletefficiëntie wordt de 'stall' van Kobuk genoemd, zoals het ooit was.

I booked this accommodation based on the photos and description showing a large dining area and a spectacular view. Upon arrival, I noticed that the cabin and facilities do not match what was advertised. I am requesting a partial refund or compensation due to misleading advertising and the service not matching the description.

Definitely a keeper

This was the perfect place to spend the night before hitting the mountain for a little skiing. It was super quiet and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the hot tub looked very nice, although we didn’t have the time to use it. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

A retreat from a retreat

My wife and I came down from the valley to get away to the Alyeska Nordic Spa. I wanted something outside of Alyeska and found the Carriage house to be the perfect place! It was perfect to include the added hot tub. The house rules were clear and easily explained. The heated floors were a really nice touch as well. We will be back for our next get-away. :-) Thank you for your hospitality

Anniversary Getaway

We are Alaskan residents that never stop working. This was a much needed retreat. This cozy cottage has all amenities available, even an electric skillet which i needed to make breakfast. This is a peaceful, clean, and comfortable place. The hot tub was clean and refreshing with the chilly air. We will definitely return! Hosts were very helpful.

Just perfect!

My husband and I just stayed here for a quick “honeymoon” night after we got married and to say it was perfect just doesn’t cut it. Within walking distance to downtown girdwood, we had dinner at double musky across the street, coffee at the grind table n the morning, and of course lounged in the hot tub. It was just amazing, thank you so so much!

The cabin is exactly as advertised. Very clean and quiet. The bed is comfy not to soft not to hard. The restaurant across the road is super convenient after a long day on the road. We loved the area and even got to watch a bore tide. We would stay here again if in the area.

Great home and location!

Owners were awesome and the home was very clean with awesome wood work. I would highly recommend this home for your stay in Girdwood. The only things worth noting is the kitchen is very minimalist and there is no washer and dryer. Neither of these bothered us at all and they might have even indicated these things in ad for the home. I’m just pointing it out in case you’re expecting otherwise. There is a laundromat right down the road and plenty of nearby dining options including the excellent place right across the road.
