Quick ski getaway
Loved the location of the property. Walked to the lifts. Beautiful home with plenty of space for our family of 6. Kitchen was decently stocked and we had everything we needed. Kids loved it and want to stay again next year.

Bring your own chairs, bed frames and light bulbs…
This is the second time we have rented this property and although it is in a great location the interior has gone downhill. The listing indicates that there are 4 chairs at the dining table which is not true. There is a bench and 1 chair which makes dining together a standing experience for some. Also, the upstairs beds are shown on bed frames which is not the case. Only 1 twin bed upstairs is on a frame. The other 2 beds are not. Mattresses on the floor is fine, I suppose, unless you’re an adult. Beds are very firm which was good for us but may not be for everyone. Multiple lightbulbs are burned out throughout the rental. The kitchen faucet is very loose too. As I said earlier, the location is awesome and that makes up for a lot but the owner or manager needs to spend some time and effort to get this property back to the level expected.

Disappointed overall
The location of the property is in perfect proximity of the resort with a beautiful view but we were under the impression we were renting the entire house, as there were photos showing the basement with full laundry access when we paid the deposit. It wasn't until we were there that we heard and saw other people which was very uncomfortable. Per the property management, the "mother-in-law suite" is rented separately but we had no idea anyone else would be under the same roof as our family. It again caused a very uncomfortable situation and if we had known the property was shared, we would have stayed elsewhere. As for the portion of the property we stayed in, there are issues that need to be addressed. -Both showers do not drain properly -Loose kitchen faucet -2nd story balcony: Right & left elevation - wet rot to the decking. There's water coming in through the roofing material somehow causing a leak to the decking which is now covered in mold. -The right hand rail for the steps to the front door is very wobbly, could be a safety hazard.

Such a beautiful location and the home is gorgeous! Beds were comfy and the walk to coffee and breakfast and dinner was just a couple of minutes! Quiet and cozy! We loved it!

Good location for families
We had multiple family members staying with us. The kitchen is big, easy too cook dinners, but had limited silverwear and bowls. We just used paper/plasticware that we had with us. The homeowner sent someone to look at a few things that were reported by previous renters.

Basic rental in Girdwood
This rental is as described - No wifi, no laundry, kitchen has most things that are needed, not many dishes. Beds are comfy. No hooks, so tough to dry or hang anything. Nice setting and quiet neighborhood. It worked well for our family of 4, plenty of space for us.

Great Location
Overall we enjoyed our stay! A couple things to fix: kitchen sink DOES NOT shut off!!! Smoke alarms ( in Rubbermaid bin, in closet) we’re beeping (VERY ANNOYING!!) we removed the dead batteries…. They need to be replaced. Stove top was FILTHY!! Greasy and gross. Several pans were also dirty and we had to soak and scrub. Great location to the mountain and fun area!!

Cute veneer, not great after all
We checked in after arriving on a late evening flight. The heating system for this home is a radiant floor and it had been set to 50 deg. If you're familiar with this type of heating, you'll know it takes a good 12+ hours to come up to temperature. We went around the house and gathered up every available throw or blanket to put over the beds to stay warm that night, and even then, I slept with my down jacket on. When we arrived, one of the bedrooms had been locked inadvertently from the inside, so we were not able to sleep in that room. My parents stayed in the one bedroom on the main level that was open, while my husband and I stay up in the loft on a mattress on the floor. This set up is fine if it's a bunch of bachelors up for a ski weekend, not caring about how many people bunk in. We did care. The management did address the locked door, but not until the next day, but of course by that time we were already settled upstairs. We ended up not moving down to the 2nd bedroom because the bed in that room seemed pretty rickety - almost like a mattress on cot legs. None of the bathrooms have any towel hooks or bars or anything to hang a wet towel on. So unless your group isn't staying for more than a night, it's an odd thing to have to figure out where to hang your towel. There's a sign inside the front door asking everyone to remove their shoes, but no where to sit while one does so. No coat hooks there either, only giant snowboard storage that threatens to poke one's eye as you come down the stairs. Overall, the pictures are cute. The veneer of a cute winter cabin is interesting. But it's clear no one who cares about the house has ever stayed there to put in place the things that make a stay easy and one that we would want to come back to.

Great time in nice home.
Had a good stay beds were a little uncomfortable but not bad for a couple nights. Please follow the rules for trash, so the people who stay after you don’t have a bear at the front steps for a hour so you can’t leave the house.

Lovely Home
The house is beautiful and it accommodated our family very well. Our only complaint was that the house was very hot. There was a ceiling fan that had no battery in the remote and a single box fan. We bought a battery for the remote and it worked but did not help very much. Next time we will bring a few small fans with us.

Nice cabin, great location
This is a nice cabin. Great location for skiing. Short drive to the restaurants in town. It’s a nice place but you can tell it’s rented out and there’s lots of wear and tear. I wish there had been better pans to cook and there was no can opener. Overall it was fine.

Long Weekend Getaway
We enjoyed this property! It is within walking distance to the mountain, and we designated the loft as the space for the teens. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was clean when we arrived. The only improvement I can think of is that the mattresses need to be replaced and WiFi would be ideal.

Not up to par...
I usually don't leave lengthy reviews but I feel this one is warranted. Finding the house per the GPS was easy but realizing if your at the correct house was not.. no house number, no porch lights on, front of the house does not face the road, and there were 2 other cars in front of the house so we thought we were at the wrong place. What they don't tell you is the front of the house faces the side yard and into the neighbors house/back yard there are people living in the apartment below the house even though we didn't hear a peep out of them. The cleanliness was questionable, someone had walked through the house with dirty/muddy shoes prior to us, food on the toaster, stove and counters. Beer in the fridge, would've been a bonus if we drank that kind 🙂, hair in the showers/we'll just say skid marks in the toilet.. and the house could use a good deep dusting. Things that were broken/missing: -no shower curtain or rod in the shower up stairs bathroom (used toothbrush left behind on top of cabinet). toilet clogged and smelled bad. - twin bed on the right wasn't even on a frame, mattress on the floor not as pictured. -missing light bulbs from the lamps. - TV wouldn't stay on, turned off by itself DVD player broken but we didn't mind unplugging. - downstairs bathroom toilet seat wasnt tightened down, mom almost fell to the floor trying to use the toilet the first time. - the vanity mirror/door is fastened with one hinge, hanging on with just the top one. - bedroom on the right, broken table upside down left in the closet, none of the smoke detectors were not hooked up (sitting on the kitchen counter), someone's dirty cloths left behind under the bed. -beds covered in plastic and fair warning are only double size, it was tight. - in vanity 1 of 3 light bulbs worked. -none of the bedroom windows had screens -hallway closet door wasnt on track, only noticed because when we came in it was open & off the track. -couch (I believe is broken) when you sit on it in different areas its sits all different heights and one side the back of the couch is sunken in. - everything needed to be dusted, water rings left on tables. -Left early due to someone close smoking weed and smell was strong in the house. Positive notes, front windows and view of the mountains were amazing. There is no wifi.. which I was completely ok with completely unplugging. Aesthetically pleasing inside, needs much work to compete with other local VRBO's.

Extremely uncomfortable Beds in a beautiful house.
This is a beautiful house in a great setting with some major flaws. Starting with the upstairs beds you could basically feel the springs, the other beds are all firm enough that you might as well sleep on the floor. The house needs enough dishes for guests. Also, the Vacasa did not give us the correct key/check in info. so we had to go back there again to receive the right info. When we arrived the house was 52F, due to a bathroom window that had been left open, we all were freezing the first night. The sheets and blankets were low quality, I would recommend doing some serious upgrading. Also, there were no hooks for towels. Despite the uncomfortable beds we enjoyed our stay, the location is fantastic and the house is gorgeous.

Good but needs improvement
When we arrived, the property wasn’t properly cleaned. The basics were done but the microwave hadn’t been cleaned, porch hadn’t been swept (lots of rice :) - I noticed the last review mentioned a wedding!) and other smaller things didn’t receive attention. There was no hair dyer, which was listed in the amenities, the DVD player was broken and several smoke detectors had been taken down. We also had to take one down when it began beeping at 3am. As others have stated, there are people living downstairs. It wasn’t a problem - we didn’t hear a peep out of them - but it would’ve been nice to know. The ‘good’ is the location. It’s walking distance to food, trails and other businesses which is nice! Beautiful big windows are nice too.

Great place with a few quirks
We stayed 3 nights and were quite happy with the place. There were a few minor quirks that could be improved to make this place even better. First, we ended up staying during an unseasonably hot spell. Since there is no Air Conditioning (not usually needed in Alaska) we opened the windows. Unfortunately, there are not screens on most of the windows so this allowed some insects to enter. No major problems but screens would be nice. Second, while the kitchen has the basics, there were very few sets of dishes. We were two families of 3 (6 total) and we had to constantly wash bowls, cups, etc. as there were not quite enough for everybody. Third, it is not clear from the listing, but there is another unit directly below this unit. This did not create any problems for us but I don't think it was mentioned anywhere in the listing. Overall--a great stay, location is nice and Girdwood is lovely. Would stay here again and it would be perfect with a few minor improvements!
