'Lovely hotel for a few days while at a wedding.
Clean and spacious room with effective shower.
Coincided with the Chester Folk Festival in the village, so evenings were really lively.
As we were with friends in the village, we didn't have a main meal at the pub / hotel, but my daughter's snack was excellent. The menu had plenty of choices.
Only disappointment was that cooked breakfasts were not available, but a good selection of light food was provided.
The staff are very welcoming and...

'The room/apartment was basically a bedsit in a HMO in an unsafe, dangerous area of the city. Immediately above a dodgy takeaway.
Mouldy shower, kids stickers all over the furniture, outdated and not remotely like the pictures. The photos in the listing are not for this property which should be made explicitly clear. The door for the bedsit had a 1inch gap underneath and we did not feel safe leaving our valuables in there whilst we went out. All sorts of unsavoury people hanging around the ...

'My daughter and I stayed in the Orme lodge, it was lovely. Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. Don't wear sliders on your feet when trying to do the fire or else you will slip on the mud which is hilarious to a teenager btw. Hot tub takes about 4 hours to...

'Stayed two nights - good size room, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast, friendly hosts, good location with pubs and places to eat a few minutes walk away. Easy to get into Chester from here. Excellent.'
