Locatie is echt super! Lekker ruim appartement met lekkere badkamer en goede bedden. Eenvoudige keuken maar prima, alleen vaatwasser zonder mandjes/lades, dus inruimen is niet mogelijk De entree naar appartement is een beetje kruip door sluip door maar wel netjes.

The apartment is spacious and clean, but the wifi and TV didn’t work. I phoned the maintainers immediately and sent four or five emails in the following days but they gave only two short and unhelpful replies to the first few emails and never fixed the problem (no signal was coming into the house at all, I had to discover myself). I don’t care about the TV not working but I need the internet while working there for a week. I had to resort to using my mobile phone data for which I had to pay. I asked for any kind of compensation for that but they didn’t reply to that either.

De ligging midden in het centrum is perfect. Het appartement is erg ruim en modern ingericht, de bedden liggen prima. Je moet wel 4 matig verlichte trappen op om er te komen. De betaling van de borg werd niet direct verwerkt, dus dat kun je beter regelen voordat je bij het appartement bent. De cijfercode om binnen te komen is erg lang, dus als je telefoon leeg is midden in de nacht, dan heb je een probleem (schrijf op een briefje).

Wauw!
Lokatie en de ruimte waren echt geweldig. Er is geen personeel, alles gaat via mail en met inlogcodes. Het werkte allemaal feilloos. De enige pech die we hadden, was dat we de heetste 2 dagen van het jaar hadden uitgekozen en het gebouw de hele dag vol in de zon stond. Hierdoor was het enorm warm binnen, zonder airco krijg je het dan niet cooler.

Lækker lejlighed med dårlige adgangsforhold.
Glimrende lejlighed. dog var hele opgangen til 5 sal uden belysning og med puds på væggene. Det var som om de havde haft travlt med at få lejligheden i orden, men ikke de mange trapper og gange man skulle gå igennem for at komme dertil. Det var besværligt - og farligt med små børn og ingen lys. Fjernsynet var også i stykker, men vi skulle ikke bruge det.

Nous n'avions pas les codes d'accès à notre arrivé, mais ça peut aussi être un peu de ma faute car je n'ai pas fait l'enregistrement en ligne. L'édifice était en travaux. La porte d'entrée de l'édifice ne verrouillait pas et il n'y avait pas d'éclairage fonctionnel dans les escaliers des trois derniers paliers à franchir (nous étions aux cinquième étage). L'internet ne fonctionnait pas ce qui nous a causé des ennuis pour les réservations à venir. Nous avons eu une compensation d'Hôtel.com pour les inconvénient, mais si nous avions su, nous n'aurions pas réservé à cet endroit. Cependant, la localisation était bien et à l'intérieur tout était bien (espace et confort) si nous oublions l'internet.

Nightmare come true
First of all, the entry key pad to the property did not work. Tried pulling the entry door, it opened. It lead to a flight of dark stairs. Climbed two floors and found that there was construction happening. Went back down and called customer service in the middle of night sitting on the high street bench. Customer service insisted there were guests. So tried to climb the dark stairs with luggage and found there was another flight of stairs hidden from view. Took that reached the apartment and went in. The apartment was so hot, could only sleep with windows open. High street is noisy throughout the night except for a couple of hours. All 3 nights was woken up by loud noise of people staying above me with constant noise of moving furniture, going down the stairs, chatting and laughing. Lost sleep for 3 days. Absolute definition of nightmare

The apartment was double booked by the accommodation. Meaning when I tried to come in(with my code and booking confirmation) and someone else was already there. After contacting customer service(who were in touch with the accommodation) we DID NOT get ANY compensation, even trough it was not out fault(again, we had a reservation confirmation and paid and even had the code for entering the apartment)

Pros: the property is livable and got a decent remodel around the bedroom and shower. Hot water, temperature control are there. Location is very central and is right on the central street with shops and crowds. Cons: There are a few. - The property is managed remotely, and I did not manage to get any support. The most critical for me was lack of WI-FI. Even thought it was advertised, it was not present. I reported it twice and got email from the reception that the technical staff was notified. In the three nights of stay, never got a follow up or repair. - Dishwasher instructions do not match the model in the unit, and I couldn't get it working. Also, lacking container for the silverware, i.e. effectively not usable. - Walls in the restroom are dirty, like they forgot to clean/paint it during remodel. - The beds are not King size. I'm not sure if European standard is different, but definitely not the American size. - Besides, be advised that you will need to climb a lot of very steep stairs through the back of the stores to get to the unit. There is a luggage elevator next to the unit, but it appears to be permanently disables.

Good - location handy for old town and City centre; easily walkable from railway station; size of flat; proximity to shops, especially Carrefour for self catering; cleanliness of flat, and; comfortable bed. Okay - decor minimalist; kitchen functional, and; views somewhat limited. Be aware - our flat was on the 5th floor with no passenger lift and the staircase was narrow with turns. Okay for us but may be a challenge with small children or if you have difficulty with mobility. The communications with the letter work but check your junk e-mail folder. You will be contacted about a week before hand and asked for passport details and be sent the combination codes to access the building and your flat 48 hrs before hand.

SmartFlats: Horrendous!!! Never stay here!!!
Horrible experience. The flat was in terrible conditions, patches on the walls, no a/c, no screens on windows, very poor furniture that was in really bad condition and full of stains. In order to get to the flat, you need to climb 5 (there is no elevator), need to walk throughout some storage hallways full of boxes, and dirty stairs. At 2 am, the neighborhood below (also a tenant) started playing house music extremely loud, and they stopped playing the music at 6 am. We called the office number left at the flat and no one responded. We had to leave the flat the next day because it was just discussing and the noise level unbearable. We requested our money back and SmartFlats denied to refund us the money. Horrible place and horrible company to deal with!!!

The location was excellent the only negative was there was a lengthy walk and lots of stairs to get to my 5th floor apartment.

Positives: great location, coffee machine in room, clean bathroom with good hot water Negatives: No extra towel or pillow. Even though the room sleeps 4, there were no sheets or blankets for the sofa bed, which was also really cheap and flimsy. When asked about another towel and sheets, they wrote right back but said they could not help because they were fully booked (even though I booked a room for 4 and I was only 1). I got the feeling that they just don’t have anyone who can help around the property on the weekend even with a very basic request. Walking up five flights of stairs is a negative but of course it is well advertised upon booking. Other negatives: blood stains on the wall near the bed.

Great flat in a great location
We were really happy with the apartment although it was quite difficult to go up 5 floors with all our luggage. We hadn´t seen anywhere how far up the flat was. But apart from that, we were happy.

Address we got was incorrect, we never got codes to get into apartment buiding, we had to make an international call. There were about 20 teens skateboarding at front of building, drinking and smoking and being very loud until 3 or 4 am!!!, we couldnt open windows because of noise and the amount of mosquitos getting in.. no screens on windows. NO AIR CONDITIONING AND NO ELEVATORS, we were on the 5th floor.

I am sorry to hear that despite the email sent 2 days before your arrival and the text message on your arrival date, you did not receive the access codes. We encourage you to check this before your arrival day, as stated in our pre-arrival email sent 4 days before your check-in, and contact us before hand to receive them. Regarding the future Tony Hawks enjoying their first days of summer holidays in the mainest street of the town, we are unfortunately not responsible for that. Indeed, our Smartflats do not have AC. It is not standard in Belgium since we rarely experience such high temperatures. And we do not have elevator in this residence, as stated in our booking page, we do not recommend this residence to persons with reduced mobility. I am sorry to see that you missed this information. Nice flat in the center of Antwerp
Meir street is the main shopping street in Antwerp. Very convenient situation, most of the city centre is in walking distance. There is no parking at this flat but there's a parking nearby. Also the flat is on the third floor without elevators.

Flott leilighet, men mye slit med bagasjen.
Overraskende og veldig tungt å løfte bagasjen opp 96 trappetrinn. To dager før oppholdet mottok vi mail om at det ikke finnes heis i bygget!! Ved reservasjon gis det ingen informasjon om dette.

Great Flat Great Location, lots of stairs, no lift
Loved the Smart Flat and in a superb location, but 5 flights of stairs with no lift was not pleasant.
