Very good
We stayed for 4 days in El Penon Amarillo near Arcos de la Frontera. The house is beautifull and well equipped. The garden is huge (30.000 m2) and lovely; you feel the passion of owner Joaquin Nunez who designed and developed it himself. The location is excellent near highways to e.g. Sevilla and Cadiz, both located at around 100 km.

Wonderful place
The whole experience was great, from the start to finish. The property has everything you need and more. The gardens are extensive and obviously the passion of the owner. Plenty of shady areas. Beautiful surroundings and only a 10 minute drive into Arcos. Nothing was too much trouble for Joaquin, and was always available to answer any questions about the surrounding area.

Magical
The listing actually doesn’t do justice to the place. The gardens, all planted and created by Joaquín, are truly stunning. We have seen trees we have never encountered before, the succulents and cacti are other worldly. There are so many different areas to sit and enjoy the garden we didn’t manage to make use of them all in our week, but the BBQ works brilliantly. The finca itself is a delight. Well equipped and comfortable. It really did become our home for a week. We have stayed in many self catering places all over Europe and we can honestly say this is the best.

Macharnudo
A beautiful and well equipped finca in spectacular and extensive grounds, well located near Arcos de la Frontera and for visiting other places of interest, though you will need a car; also good for just relaxing. The local lake at El Santiscal is extremely charming and there is a very good restaurant there. As mentioned by other reviewers the owner Joaquin is an extremely gracious host, there to welcome you and always on hand to help with any questions or recommendations. The beautiful grounds have been a labour of love for him and his wife over many years - and still in progress - they have created imaginative gardens (accessible for those with mobility difficulties) that is a haven for wildlife, especially birds. Joaquin is passionate about this garden and its impact on the environment and happy to share his passion while always respecting the privacy of guests. My husband needed to see a doctor while we were there and Joaquin was a real Good Samaritan, helping us to the doctor, with translation and ensuring that we had everything we needed afterwards; a very kind and generous man whose help we deeply appreciated.

PEACEFUL FEW DAYS IN PARADISE
We enjoyed such a relaxing stay in the house and garden; it was difficult to leave for excursions. We preferred to admire the tremendous gardens, beautifully maintained by the owners. Almost every plant and tree is identified by label; we were envious of how healthy they looked compared to our own efforts. The town of Grazalema is worthy of note; although it is worth visiting early in the day before the heat/crowds descend.

Spectacular & Idyllic Property
If you’re looking to be off the beaten path in a truly spectacular and idyllic setting, this is the place! We were a party of 4, two couples, and every aspect of this house and the glorious gardens made this one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever taken. While you’re in close proximity to the town, you are equally situated in a private paradise. Cannot recommend this more highly.

Une belle maison dans un jardin magnifique
Une maison idéale pour des vacances en Andalousie. Très bien équipée et facile à vivre. Un jardin rempli de plantes où on peut se promener en découvrant différentes essences à chaque fois qu'on sort de la maison avec plein de petites espaces ombragées où on peut se détendre. Maison très bien située pour visiter toute la région autour de Séville, Cadix, Jerez et Arcos. Un propriétaire très sympathique qui parle très bien l'anglais et le français. Il nous a donné beaucoup de renseignements et d'informations utiles pour notre séjour.

Charming Country Cottage
Finca Macharnudo was the perfect spot for our time in western Andalucia. It's a little over an hour from Sevilla, less than that to Cadiz and Jerez, and just ten minutes to Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most spectacular of the white towns. The house itself is beautiful, comfortable, and very tastefully appointed, but the extensive terraced gardens and several outdoor seating areas really take the experience over the top. Joaquin is as helpful and charming as any host you will ever meet and went out of his way to ensure that we had a successful visit. I feel the need to mention that there was a lot of dog barking in the area during the day. That wasn't a big concern for us as we were away during the daytime and didn't have a problem during the night (we slept wonderfully).

Amazing property!
This home is charming, clean, organized and amazing!! The owner is so welcoming and kind. He had snacks waiting for us upon arrival. We loved exploring the property and admiring all the plants. It is a very short drive to a yummy bakery and to the beautiful town of Arcos. We parked at the bottom and walked up to the castle in town, stopping to eat along the way. We will rent this property again.

Hemos estado mi pareja y yo cinco días, a los cuales se han unido en los dos últimos nuestra hija, marido y nieto. Buscábamos un sitio aislado y tranquilo y justo es lo que hemos encontrado. Una maravillosa casa con una distribución estupenda, muy cómoda y a la que no le falta detalle de nada, todo lo contrario, totalmente acondicionada con una gran chimenea que en invierno ha de ser sentarse ante ella una exquisited.. He de destacar el gran ventanal que es una preciosidad y un lujo sentarse dentro contemplando el paisaje. En los alrededores hay muchos rincones donde sentarse o pasear, hay muchos árboles y mucha vegetación aunque se ve que no hay mucha agua para riego, porque hay mucha plantación seca y estropeada. Esto junto a la mala cobertura movil es lo menos bueno por nuestra parte, por lo demas.. hemos encontrado lo que buscábamos. Muy buen anfitrión atento a cualquier problema y que por cierto nos invitó a quedarnos el último día hasta la hora que quisiésemos por lo que aprovechamos y nos quedamos a la comida. Ein spanisches Paradies
Ein idyllisches Fleckchen Erde. Joaquin ist ein Gärtner mit Herz und das spürt man in jeder Ecke des Gartens. Die Pflanzen sind zum Großteil sogar beschriftet. Die Finca ist traumhaft und stilvoll spanisch eingerichtet- so wie man sich das für seinen Urlaub wünscht. Es fehlt an nichts. 100%ige Weiterempfehlung. Besser geht kaum.

El sitio es perfecto, la casa tiene de todo, los jardines son espectaculares, es como estar en medio de un jardín botánico, los paisajes de la zona eran fascinante. Nosotros fuimos con perros y estos se lo pasaron en grande. Joaquín, una persona maravillosa, super atento, amable.

Great stay.
We are 2 couples travelling through Andalusia & just spent 5 nights here. This is probably a better property than the pictures indicate. Huge well equipped kitchen / living room & spacious bedrooms. The gardens are amazing & Joaquin is a gracious & generous host. Be aware this is a rural property several minutes drive from the town of Arcos. Only issue was slower internet than we are used to.

Beautiful Finca near Arcos de la Frontera
This is perhaps the best holiday property we have ever rented. The photos don’t do it justice. The living room/kitchen is enormous! The finca is very well-equipped, with everything you could possibly need. The gardens are extensive and offer a nice place for relaxing in the sun. Joaquin is a wonderful host, he responded to any queries/problems immediately. The finca is about a 10 minute drive from Arcos, a lovely white village. It is also in a good position for visiting Jerez and other white villages, such as Grazalema. We would highly recommend this villa if you want to visit this area.

A lovely home, photos don’t do it justice.
We stayed here during a rainy spell in early April, so didn’t get to enjoy much of the many garden areas. House is very well equipped and the owner Joaquin was very welcoming. We did have a problem with the electricity the first night we were there. Flashlights and candles with holders would be a good addition. Joaquin responded to all our concerns. We enjoyed being out in the country, within easy driving distance to the Pueblos Blancos.

La estancia ha sido fantástica. Joaquín es todo amabilidad, también pudimos conocer a su hijo Guillermo igualmente encantador. A la casa no le falta un detalle, tiene todo lo que puedes necesitar cuidado con todo detalle, además de ser super agradable ( y una iluminación perfecta con muchas luces bajas cálidas ). La parte de fuera enorme y con muchísima vegetación y un montón de rinconcitos. Los niños lo pasaron en grande además cuidando a los conejitos y gallinas. Totalmente recomendable. Sin duda volveremos. Da gusto encontrar sitios así

Fabulous finca spotlessly clean larger than we expected which was a bonus so relaxing .
We have just returned from our stay at Finca Macharnudo it was amazing, perfect location for visiting Andalusia. You do need a car to get around only 10 min drive to beautiful Arcos de la frontera. We visited Cadiz and Jerez and also used the excellent train service to Seville only an hour away. The facilities in the finca were the best we have ever experienced and the gardens extensive with seating areas to relax.Jocquin was at the property to welcome us and was only a phone call away if we needed anything. A book in the property would be useful recommending local places to visit names of restaurants and also emergency telephone numbers which maybe visitors could add their recommended places as well.

THIS IS A CLEAN SPACIOUS WELL EQUIPED COUNTRY HOME LOCATED ON 3 ACRES OF LAND A FEW KILOMETRES OUTSIDE OF ARCOS. NOT HARD TO FIND. THE OWNER/HOST IS VERY GRACIOUS AND HELPFUL.
