Family getaway
Lovely, comfortable cottage in a great location for a range of activities. Cosy for an October break but would be fantastic in warmer weather too. Our only small criticism was the night time temperature was set at 15 degrees and couldn’t be changed and while there was lots of cosy bedding we had a toddler who still wakes a couple of times in the night so it was a bit cold tending to him. Still a 5⭐️ break.

Hi Gina, Thank you for your review. We’re glad you had an enjoyable stay. We’re sorry that you felt Camusmore House was too cool at night. Although the thermostat is set at 15 degrees at night it takes some time to reduce to that from the daytime temperature, but it can be manually adjusted between 9 and 22 degrees by guests, just by rotating the dial. Family holiday
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the house was comfortable if a bit tired. Lovely spacious rooms and plenty of bathrooms. You need a car/bike here because it is a busy road to walk on, no pavement. Our elderly dog was disadvantaged by this. Nonetheless lots of lovely walks nearby and lots of activities to enjoy.

Great Highland Vacation
Camusmore House ticked all the boxes for a wonderful Highland holiday. It is located close to many attractions and the nearby town of Aviemore has shops and grocery stores providing everything we needed. The kitchen is more than adequate and the bedroom layout suited our family ( 4 adults, 3 kids,13,11,and 8) well. The hot tub and pool table were welcome amenities especially for the children. The descriptions are accurate and the owners, Janet and Grahame were easy to communicate with. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the house.

VERY Spacious and Well-appointed
The place is just perfect…clean, more spacious than the photos do justice to, and well-appointed, even with the little extras like basic seasonings and cooking oil. I’ve stayed in listings that are sterile and unwelcoming. This home is quite the opposite. The hot tub at sunset with songbirds singing in the forest…ahhh-mazing!!! Would absolutely book again.

A great place in a wonderful setting
Huge, welcoming, relaxing, better than the photos. We had such a wonderful time at Camusmore House. The location was perfect for doing outdoor activities and for visiting other places nearby. The house was clean and warm and the view from the lounge was amazing.

Highland heaven and all the Coos you could ask for
Property felt like home the moment we arrived. Pics do not do it justice. Super clean and roomy. The backfield is filled with Highland cows that make their way up at least twice a day. Kitchen is huge and also has great view. Location cannot be beat. 4 miles to Loch Morlich with rest of town even closer. Family and I cannot wait to return.

This house was perfect for our holiday. The pictures do not do it justice as it has a lovely character and I would definitely recommend it. It was spotless on arrival and the owners made sure everything was ready for when we arrived. Superb holiday property.

Excellent property in beautiful part of the Highlands.
The property is of high quality with terrific spaces inside and out to relax in. Janet & Grahame provided comprehensive instructions to help accessing the property and using the facilities as simple as possible - including the Hot Tub, . We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay, which included visits to Aviemore, Dalwhinnie Distillery and forests walks nearby. Recommended.

We had a fantastic time. House was in a beautiful setting and well equipped. Hot tub was fantastic!
Extended family of 4 including a disabled person - the downstairs bedroom was beautiful and easy to manoeuvre. Our kids (2 and 4) had a fantastic time (doing laps of the house on their bikes!). We had a very full holiday of days out and it was a lovely house to come home to and chill. Felt homely the minute we arrived.

A Perfect Family Break
This was exactly what we were looking for in a property. We had a chance to spend time with the family and our new grandson. The property was ideal as it was in a quiet area but perfectly situated to get to all the main attractions that this area has to offer. Beautiful home in a beautiful location
Camusmore is a beautiful home in the Cairngorms! Close to nature walks and Aviemore, this home was conveniently located. We finished our two week vacation at Camusmore and couldn't have asked for a better ending. Grahame, the owner, was very thorough and detailed in his information and the Quick Start binder had all the pertinent information for the house and the area. We had a wonderful stay!

Great house in fantastic location
We have holidayed in the Aviemore area for years with our family and this house was one of the best we have stayed in. Very comfortable lounge with lovely wood burning stove ( we appreciated the generous amount of logs left for us) WiFi was fine and signal for our mobile network good. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped except we could not see a frying pan, plus a kitchen roll would have been helpful to find on arrival. The beds were all comfortable and although the house is near a B Road we were not disturbed by traffic noise We enjoyed the hot tub - great to relax in it with a drink after a day out walking Lots of walks near the house to discover. Had 2 meals at the Old Bridge - this is the nearest restaurant to the house - about a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive. Food and atmosphere excellent Would definitely return to this house and recommend to friends

Amazing!
We had the most amazing weekend away with friends, the kids loved it and so did the adults. The property was very clean, the slippers, gowns and start pack of logs was so thoughtful and lovely. The bottle of wine was perfect. I would recommend this property to family and friends and will definitely be returning next year for a longer stay than just a weekend. The hot tub was fabulous, and really topped our evenings. Thank you so much for a lovely stay in your home.

Im Mai 2019 haben wir uns mit 7 Personen auf den Weg gemacht die schottischen Highlands kennen zu lernen. Deshalb war das Camusmore House die perfekte Zentrale für uns. 4 Schlafzimmer/ Bad/WC und eine riesige Küche und Wohnbereich waren für uns perfekt. Ein spezielles Highlight der Whirlpool. Komplette und hervorragende Ausstattung. Ruhige Lage und ein großes Grundstück. Nicht weit bis Aviemore zum Einkaufen. Alles in Allen : Super, empfehlenswert, gern wieder!!!! Fam. Kolenda Fam. Comfortable , spacious warm house for our party of 7 . Loved the hot tub and view to highland cows.
Loved the house , facilities and space. Only negatives were some of the cutlery wasn’t clean . And it would be good to have one hand towel and one bath towel per person . Robes and slippers were excellent for the hot tub . Enjoyed wildlife spotting and convenient location for variety of different activities.

Relaxed With Everything on Hand
We have just had a lovely, comfortable 3 night stay at Camusmore,thank you. The house was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with lots of space and comfy beds for our party of 5 adults and 3 children. The views, especially from the lounge,were just beautiful, the children enjoyed Highland Cow watching and exploring the woods at the side of the house. The location of Camusmore is excellent and as the weather allowed for cycling it is great that both Loch an Eilein and Loch Morlich are so near at hand - safe and beautiful trails for both grandparents and children! The 'hard -core' adults were off to a variety of favourite cycling haunts including the Ski Road and Loch Einich and were delighted that driving to a start point didn't have to be involved. Visits to the hot tub was a touch of luxury and as the house has 3 very efficient showers there were never queues before or after. We very much enjoyed all the thoughtful 'extras' eg: our welcome bottle of wine, fresh flowers, selection of games and the 'Quick Start File' to name but a few. We would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone. Thank you very much again for a most comfortable and enjoyable stay, it would be great to think we might be able to book again sometime.

Fantastic house in stunning location
We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate my 30th Birthday. We had 6 adults and two kids with us and the house was very spacious. Our 6 year old loved the bunk room with the toys and books and our 10 month old was well catered for with a travel cot, highchair and even a bouncy toy to entertain. All the bedrooms were beautifully laid out and spread out to allow for privacy. The kitchen/diner is impressive and comfortably had us all in there for meals and socialising. It was very well equiped, with even plastic plates, cups and cutlery for the kids. We also had fresh flowers and wine waiting for us on arrival which was a lovely touch. The livingroom was beautiful with plenty of seating and the two very large windows giving the most beautiful views. The wood burner was great and the wood supplied allowed us to use it for the 3 nights. There was board games and an abundance of books throughout the house to enjoy. Each bedroom had plenty of storage with robes and slippers for each guest. The bedding was high quality and beds super comfy. All bathrooms and ensuites were very modern and spacious too. It has the added bonus of a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, hot water bottles, clothes horse etc (like being at home!) The grounds which the house is situated are beautiful, plenty of garden to explore and a driveway for several cars. The added bonisof the hot tub was lovely, very private and had beautiful views, also perfect at night for stargazing. The location of the house is ideal for enjoying everything Aviemore and the local area has to offer yet you feel like you are truly cut off from the world, a very happy place indeed. We loved everything about this house, it would be hard not too. I'd highly recommend staying here and have already started passing details on to friends and family and my parents are already suggesting we return in the future. Thanks so much for having us!

Wow - perfect setting with wildlife in abundance
We had the most wonderful stay, the house was in a perfect location and we had highland cows as our neighbours. Our 18month old daughter & teenage niece had a ball exploring the house and garden, not to mention seeing plenty of wildlife around the house. The house was very well equipped, had everything that we required and more. It might of been our first visit to Camusmore, however it certainly won't be our last!

Amazing house in beautiful setting
Myself and hubby along with two of our children and their partners stayed for 4 nights to attend our other daughters wedding in Carrbridge. We were not disappointed, very well equipped, lovely comfy beds and powerful ensuite showers. Property backs on to open fields full of Highland Cows and we sat watching a red squirrel playing round the property one morning, just stunning. Unable to use the garage due to three wasp bykes which got angry when light was put on. Reported it
Clean inside. Gutters all needed to be cleared and patio slabs lose outside near the hot tube. Felt it was too expensive for condition of the property. Despite this we had a good holiday in the area

Hi Helen, We're sorry you didn't enjoy Camusmore House as much as we would have hoped. Your report of 'angry' wasps to the management company was dealt with, but unfortunately they didn't report this to you. So far this unusually warm period has led to an increased incidence of bykes. The gutters are cleared regularly but they also fill quickly. Camusmore House is located in a garden with many trees and in a heavily wooded area of conifers. These trees shed their needles all year. The joints in the paving have opened a bit, but when we checked none were loose. Regarding value for money, our rates are competitive with other properties in the vicinity. We are also disappointed that you were unable to find anything positive to say about our spacious well equipped property, unlike every other guest.

Beautiful house and convenient location for exploring the Highlands.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was spacious and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Having two refrigerators was great. The beds were comfortable. It is in a quiet location but it is only a few minutes drive to shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and just wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful, relaxing stay in the heart of the Cairngorms
We had a wonderful week at Camusmore! The house suited us 4 adults and 1 child perfectly. The rooms were clean, spacious, bright and airy and the kitchen well-equipped. The weather and the midges cooperated so we were able to enjoy morning coffee and evening dinner outside every day. Camusmore is perfectly situated to take advantage of the walking and biking trails and activities in Rothiemurchus without needing a car. Plenty of good restaurants in the area and a Tesco in Aviemore 6 kms away. The little one loved the beach at Loch Morlich, feeding the deer and especially the hot tub! The cows occasionally bellowed, I couldn't get the European dryer to dry and we couldn't find the instant barbeque grill but we loved Camusmore! We'd definitely stay here again.

But you should have reported these concerns to the management company who look after Camusmore, its no trouble at all and that's what they are there to do. Excellent. Beautiful environs. Well equipped.
Excellent house for a holiday for 6. The bunk room for +2 is a bit small and drab. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this house!

Lovely home near Aviemore and lots of walks
This is a lovely home and a very peaceful and comfortable place to just hang out. The kitchen has everything needed for meals and the living room has big picture windows that look out at shaggy horned cows in a green pasture -they are a delight to watch. Close by are many trails for walking. And Aviemore is close enough for groceries or dining out. We liked the Gelato place in Aviemore with fantastic donuts and cannoli.

Relaxing Break
We are a party of colleagues who take a long weekend break together every year, this weekend was so relaxing. The house is extremely comfortable and very welcoming, the situation for the attractions of Aviemore and the surrounding area is perfect. We visited the Highland Wildlife Park (saw Hamish the new baby polar bear) and had a couple of lovely walks of which there are many. The garden and hot tub were ideal for an afternoon chill with a glass of wine or two, we would have no hesitation about returning and can happily recommend this property.

The house was well eqipped, clean and in a fantastic location. The views were amazing.
We had lovely days out, walking, and exploring the surrounding area. We ate out every night and everywhere we ate was super. Luckily the weather was great too. Our two dogs also enjoyed the varied walks. Lots to do for all ages - would love to come back again.

Luxury set within picturesque surroundings
Beautifully presented and sumptuously furnished. My son wanted to bring the bed home with him! The place was quite magical, with pretty lights in the trees welcoming us onto the driveway. Wonderfully furnished with fluffy towels; bathrobes and slippers adding the finishing touches to the luxurious home from home. Who can complain, sitting in the hot tub watching a deer yards away from us, later followed by a red squirrel. You won’t be disappointed with your stay here, I’m looking to see when we can come back, soon I hope...

We had a really lovely stay here over Xmas everything worked as it should and the house is very comfortable and plenty big enough for 8 adults. The views of the mountains are stunning. Luxurious, comfortable but homely villa. All you need is provided in the house.
3 sets of couples staying for 3 nights turned into 2 nights.we couldn't stay the last night as one of the couple's had a bad back and the bed didn't suit. 4 of the 6 used the hot tub and loved it. The heating was just right. We brought pine logs which gave the villa a lovely perfume. We ate in and had brought steaks and bacon, eggs and chili. Not all at one time.

Everything and more......
We enjoyed are stay Canusmore House. Very comfortable stay with four young children and four adults giving us plenty of room. Lovely location with the highlands out our back door with a breatkaing view to great you in the morning. Huge plus was all the detailed attention to the young family. From travel cot, high chairs to children dishes & flat wear made a very welcoming environment to our grandchildren. We would definitely stay here again!
