THE TURTLE CLUB - Zwembad, toegang tot het kanaal en boothelling

The Turtle Club is een gezellig toevluchtsoord weggestopt in het Dorp van Avon. De lay-out is alles op een niveau, een verhaal, en is de helft van een duplex. Het heeft twee grote overdekte dekken in de voor- en achterkant, die perfect voor ochtend / avond zon vangen zijn en biedt veel schaduw in het midden van de dag. De gemeenschappelijke ruimte heeft een ruime kathedraal plafond afgewerkt met houten planken, en omvat de open keuken en woonkamer. Er is een open haard, een natte bar en een volledig ingerichte moderne keuken met een eet-in ontbijttafel eiland met 10 stoelen. Aan weerszijden van de gemeenschappelijke ruimte zijn twee slaapkamers die zijn verbonden door een complete badkamer en een half badkamer uit de woonkamer. Elk van de vier slaapkamers heeft een glazen schuifdeur naar een van de twee overdekte dekken.

Unieke kenmerken van de locatie:
- Een gedeeld zwembad ligt op een steenworp afstand van het voordek, het wordt ook gedeeld door de mensen die in de andere duplex verblijven (voor het grootste deel is dit uw privézwembad).
- Watersportactie staat voor de deur te wachten, want de Turtle Club bevindt zich in het Hatteras-complex van de Kite Club, wat betekent kiteboarden en paddleboard-lessen opstaan die dagelijks vanuit de haven vertrekken.
- De lange dokken aan het kanaal zijn perfect voor vissen, krabben en aanmeren van uw boot en er is een visschoonmaakstation op de kleinere dokken.
- Grote gasgrill op de achterporch.
- Buitendouche en wasruimte op de veranda.
- Sorry, we hebben geen kabel, maar er zijn laptopaansluitingen beschikbaar voor het streamen van shows en films naar de tv.
- Lakens en handdoeken worden verstrekt zonder extra kosten.
- We streven er ook naar om u alle kookgerei te geven dat u bij u thuis zou hebben.

This property was perfect for the four of us. My husband and I along with our travel buddies loved the spacious house, large open concept of the kitchen and living room. Everything was provided in the kitchen. The deep porches were great for catching the breezes and enjoying happy hours as we overlooked the canal. The fact we were located in a nice neighborhood for walking was a plus. Didn’t take advantage of the pool or the kayak and paddle board as we were there the first week in November. We did make use of the grill and nearby restaurants. Would love to return next year in warmer weather to take advantage of the water!

Maison parfaite pour des vacances. Tout sur un même étage. Peut être moins intéressant si vous souhaitez moins de promiscuité. Super intéressant avec la piscine creusée mais la maison (duplex) est dans un terrain éloigné de la route pas très attirant. Endroit calme et paisible que je recommande.

Relaxation and Adventure

Quite the memorable week at the Turtle Club in Avon. We weren't there to kitesurf but to have a family vacation with our three young kids. It was so nice. Different from the northern parts of the outer banks. We miss some of the fun stuff in the upper parts, but I love the laid-back vibe of Avon and Hatteras island. The waves were rough from the atlantic our week but we found a spot (Sandy Bay, ocean side) on Hatteras' south side where it was shallow enough that we could boogie board with the kids. We hit it up every day and did all sorts of interesting stuff to fill out the days. We visited a salt farm and an oyster farm, taking a boat out into the Pamlico sound. Great seafood everywhere and recommend orange blossom bakery, buxton munch, and the mad crabber, the latter has great seafood and vibe literally within walking distance of the place. Only thing I'd say negative about the place is the picture shows a king bed in one of the bedrooms and my wife and I were looking forward to claiming that as our bedroom but alas there was no king bed so we had to share a (full, i think? maybe queen), which wasn't the worst thing in the world but a notch down from the luxury we were expecting. That said, the place is great, we had plenty of room and comfort, and Christo and Melissa were awesome hosts! They live next door and are very helpful and genial. It's like they are your friendly neighbors. The Pamlico Sound surged up into the carport and surrounding areas during our final night there, as we got pelted with high winds in the wake of Hurricane Michael, which was kinda crazy, and a little bit scary at times, but all in all, it was a pretty cool and memorable experience. Christo knew exactly the right place to move our car to higher ground and kept watch during the wee hours while my family slept safe and sound up in the Turtle Club. It was fascinating to see nature at work and I think a lesson for the kids and something to not forget to top off our memorable fall break in Avon. Thanks!

Great place for families with young kids

We stayed the week before Labor Day with 4 adults and a 3yo and 7yo. Plenty of space, very comfortable, and the pool right outside the unit was a hit, as was the well-outfitted kitchen. We will definitely be booking again next time we come down to the Outer Banks.

MOST RELAXING TRIP WE'VE EVER BEEN ON

The turtle club is awesome! The duplex pictured here that we stayed in was very clean and had almost everything we needed to cook and run our daily lives with. They even had a toybox full of toys for my 2 year old daughter and my friend's 6 year old. It's extremely private and that's one of the main things that we loved. It has a pool which appears to be shared by 4 units. We were a little worried about that when we first pulled in because the pool is smaller, but, it ended up not being a problem at all. Each family pretty gave each other the space to enjoy the pool and it was extremely refreshing! We had a lot of fun in that little pool alone! This was such a chill vacation. Every other vacation we've had we are rushing to get here and there and do excursions but this was it for us. we look forward to coming back next year! If I had to critique one thing it would be the beds...Not very comfortable, all of the adults had an issue sleeping on them. and it sounds like it has Grandmas 1970's plastic covering them. Overall, awesome stay!!!!

We enjoyed the Turtle club. It’s off the main road but close to everything you need. Beds were comfortable. Showers had good water pressure. Everything was clean. Outside shower was nice to have to wash off the sand. My son loved the pool.

Great place to stay!

We had a great time at the Turtle Club! The space is great--fits lots of people comfortably. The kitchen has what is needed, and sharp knives! Christo the host was very friendly. Only thing to note is the location--even though it is right in the heart of Avon, it is down two back roads--making it a pretty long walk to the beach. We had no trouble, with cars and bikes. That said, it's right on a lovely canal, and they even let us use a kayak! Go left out of the canal and you get out to the sound; go right and there's a nice, more natural canal with lots of birds to check out.

Spacious inside and out

Nice open space. Loved the Jack and Jill setup on each side of the common area. The front and back porches were such a relaxing place to hang out. Comfortable chairs and swings. Owners were very friendly. Location was a nice walk to the marina, ocean, canal. Only problem was the Roku didn't work but we really didn't miss TV except for the playoff games.
