Private Cottage in stille bossen in de buurt van Acadia National Park en Bar Harbor

Laat de hectische wereld achter en kom naar Maine om te ontspannen in deze rustige huisje in het bos in de buurt van Acadia National Park. Slechts 10 minuten naar Bar Harbor, 6 minuten naar het Park Entree en Information Center, en 7 minuten van het Hadley Point Beach om te zwemmen, varen en picknicken.

De hoofdslaapkamer heeft een queensize matras met kussens en een handgemaakte quilt van de vuurtoren. De kamer is voorzien van een nautisch thema decor en een eigen badkamer met douche en een overvloed aan handdoekhouders. Ontspan in de zithoek of schrijf een kaartje aan de balie. Een ventilator boven het hoofd zorgt voor een zacht briesje. Deze kamer heeft een eigen badkamer met douche en veel handdoekenrekken.

Licht cascades in de tweede slaapkamer met twee extra lange bedden. Kruip onder de dekens of schrijf brieven aan het bureau. De eikenhouten bureau en een eigen kast bieden voldoende opbergruimte. De aangrenzende badkamer met bad / douche dient ook de woonkamer.

De woonkamer heeft een met kussens gevulde sofa geschikt om te slapen, gemakkelijke stoelen en een flatscreen-tv met Home Theatre Surround Sound, kabel en dvd / cd-speler. Een grote verscheidenheid aan films zijn verkrijgbaar bij de Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor. Je kunt spelen met games en speelgoed of genieten van een boek uit onze bibliotheek met alles van mysteries tot geschiedenissen, biologie tot biografie.

De woonkamer opent naar de keuken met zijn koelkast / vriezer, elektrisch fornuis en oven, aparte combimagnetron, broodrooster en grote spoelbak met vaatwasser. Koks zullen genieten van het volledige aanbod van pannen, potten, (met inbegrip van een kreeft pot!), Kookgerei, servies, bestek, koffiezetapparaat, en as picknickmand. Als je gaat zitten op de eikenhouten eettafel, geniet van uw 's ochtends koffie of thee, kijkt uit het raam, kunt u vogels, eekhoorns, of af en toe een hert of vos te spotten. U kunt ervoor kiezen het nemen van ontbijt op de veranda voordat u voor een dag wandelen in het park of sightseeing en winkelen in het schilderachtige steden van Mount Desert Island.

In de avond kunt u genieten rocken op de veranda of het oplossen van puzzels in het spel tafel. Daar kunt u de heerlijke geur van balsem spar vangen en te drinken in de prachtige rust van Maine op zijn best.

This cabin was wonderful to stay in while visiting Acadia. It was In the woods which was very peaceful but also within an easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The cabin was very clean and cute. We were able to use the grill and make meals to eat in (plenty of kitchen items). The hosts were very friendly (loved the pie that was waiting for us). We would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

AWSOME!! James & Marilyn were Great hosts. They were very helpful and knowledgeable on things to do. There was a home made pie that James prepared in the refrigerator,waiting for us apon arrival. The cabin was furnished with everything you could need and was spotless - clean. The location of the cabin is close to Bar Harbor. Less then 10 minute ride. Deffinitly would stay here again!

Not only is this property charming and cozy, its location is fabulous! It's situated in a wooded residential neighborhood that winds down by the ocean for lovely sunrise views. It is 3 miles from Acadia visitor center and 8 miles from Bar Harbor. There's a bus stop for the Island Explorer within a mile of the cottage at the Bar Harbor camp ground.The cottage itself was wonderful (and so are the owners!). They provided games, jigsaw puzzles, toys for children, videos, and a whole library of books for the occasional quiet evening or rainy afternoon. We enjoyed sitting outside on the porch, having morning coffee or hanging out in the evening in the rocking chairs and swinging after going to the many sights, hikes, or wherever we were that day.The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The kitchen had everything needed to make full meals, which made it a perfect retreat.I'd highly recommend this cottage for your Maine vacation!!

Lovely cottage in the woods! Great set up with a bedroom at front of cotttage with full bath, en-suite in the back of the cottage. Everything we could possible need or want was at our finger tips. Fantastic location. Short drive to Acadia visitors center and loop road and 15 minutes to Bar Harbor. Hosts were warm and very helpful. We will return for sure!

Great spot and great hosts!

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. We highly recommend staying there if you are going to visit Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor. The place was scrupulously clean and very cozy, charmingly decorated. The owners made us feel very at home. (When we checked in we were delighted to find a home made pie waiting for us. Delicious!) It was great to go back to the cottage's peaceful setting after spending the day at the park or Bar Harbor, both of which can get really busy this time of year. The park entrance is just down the road, and Bar Harbor a few minutes drive away. If you are going to be visiting the area, do yourselves a favor and stay here!

What a lovely, quiet cabin with such gracious hosts! I have been vacationing in Maine since 2002, and this was by far my favorite rental. It was clean, spacious, homey, and conveniently located to local attractions, but also remote enough to allow for a deeply relaxing getaway. I am so missing sitting on that porch with a book and a cup of coffee!

Perfect hideaway in Bar Harbor

This is a great cabin nestled in the woods of Nar Harbor. It’s far enough away to be out of the bustle and traffic of Bar Harbor yet just a few short minutes away from the entrance of Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. The cabin is wonderful, the kitchen was fully equipped with every pot and pan and utensils that you could possibly need. My wife and I lived our stay and were sad to leave.

The cottage was very clean and well appointed. It was in close proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The hosts were very friendly and even made a homemade pie for us to enjoy! If we are ever taking a trip to Maine again I would definitely look to see if this place was available.

This cottage is great! It is the perfect size for around 4-5 guest and has a large selection of books, games, and movies to enjoy in case the weather is not ideal for your trip. The location gives you privacy while also being right outside of Acadia NP. James and Marilyn are extremely kind and generous. They checked in to make sure we were warm enough since it was chilly when we visited and even made us a pie. If I ever go to this area again, I will definitely be staying here!

Very Convenient

Our stay at this cottage was convenient to Bar Harbor and ANP, yet the cottage is secluded and quiet which was the perfect way to experience the area. The cottage is well kept, clean and fully supplied with everything you will need.

Great After Check-In

The property is wonderful. And convenient to the entrance to Acadia National Park. We did experience a disastrous check-in process. No communication at all with the hosts with the address or check-in process. Tried multiple ways to connect, including contacting VRBO directly multiple times, with no luck. Scary. Finally got resolved 3-4 hours after the check-in time.

The cottage is conveniently located near Acadia National Park, as well as a very short drive to Bar Harbor. The cottage is very cozy with all the amenities that are needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts are close by, very helpful and willing to provide any information or needs that the guests may have.

Peaceful Cabin in the Woods

In spite of its location close to the tourist hub of Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia National Park, the cabin provided quiet solitude and a relaxed environment. Very well equipped to serve our needs. Everything was in fine working order. When I contacted the host prior to arrival, I told him the kinds of things we wanted to do while in the area, and when we check in there were numerous guides and travel pamphlets on the coffee table that were useful in finding locations and attractions to maximize our time. Very friendly and hospitable hosts. A wonderful stay. A place we would visit again and recommend to others.

Quiet and nice cottage ideally located

We had a great stay with our 15-yo twins at Marilyn and James’s cottage. The cottage has lots of space and the patio is great. The location is also very quiet while being very close to Acadia park entrance (less than 10 min) and Bar Harbor. James and Marilyn were very welcoming and eager to answer any questions. We would go again in a heartbeat!

A little bit of heaven

We rolled into our little cottage and found a fresh baked warm berry pie waiting for us ! My niece and I were traveling together on our annual summer trip. This place was idyllic. So well appointed. Very clean and cozy. Kitchen was nice to cook in. Especially loved the cornflower vintage Corningwear ! It was so convenient to Acadia Making the daily commute a snap Beds were extremely comfortable. Lots of nice linen. We couldn’t have been happier.

Just what we were looking for

This cute, comfortable, cozy cabin in the woods was what we needed. The surprise in the fridge was absolutely delicious. It has to be one of the cleanest VRBO we have stayed in. The owner lives behind the cabin and are the nicest couple. It is secluded but close to everything especially the national park. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely Cottage and Hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cottage. James and Marilyn were wonderful hosts and the cottage was very clean and well stocked. Our almost 6 year old enjoyed the bin of toys and the children’s books. The proximity to the NP entrance, Bar Harbor, as well as other attractions on MDI was so convenient! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay here again, if we ever are in the area again.
