I loved the view we had out our Window. I wasn't crazy about how the floors creaked whenever a person above us walked around.Everytime someone walked around at midnight and later it woke me up. I thought someone was in our room

Outdated lodge
Well the first nonsmoking room smelled like smoke so we requested another room which was better. Weather was rainy when we were there so wanted to have heat. No heat, they hadnt turned it on yet The tile ceiling was bowing over the bed and the ceiling tile was open in the a bathroom corner, all i can say is spider webs. On a good note the food was decent. I really liked the chicken strips. Servers in the Sand bar were friendly and checked on us frequently. Beautiful view of the lake. All in all only a 5/10

I like the fact that the lodge has every thing amenity wise. The service at the sandbar was a bit to be desired to say the least. I had to ask for every drink that I got. Not once did any of the servers ask us if we would like another drink. I thought that was odd especially from being in the industry myself. Front desk staff was wonderful.

Very nice place to stay. The only bad thing is the 2nd floor condo had very steep steps. Very difficult for older people to go up or down .

A Disappointing Lodge
No heat in the room and it was very cold in the room. Floor was cold and not insulated just cheap carpeted squares. One of the 2 beds in the room had a broken frame so it was unusable. Food was pretty basic but over-priced compared to surrounding resorts. Room was as basic as you could get. No refrigerator or microwave. No end tables just a shared shelf. Walls are not thick at all. You can easily hear surrounding conversations well into the night. It was pretty disappointing. Drove 6 hours to arrive at a shack that has no refunds either. I do not recommend staying at the lodge part unless you are looking for just a bed, and even then, you might have a broken one. The only saving grace was the very kind staff.

Fishing trip
Stay was good. Location is absolutely perfect! People are overall friendly. Staff in the bar/restaurant weren’t really observant to the customers. Took a long time to even get greeted. The rooftop bar is awesome when the weather is good. WiFi is terrible! Hoped to get some work done but could not get good enough service definitely needs to be better WiFi in this larger of a hotel. Overall really needs to be updated!! The villas are beautiful but the hotel and cabins really need updating! Also the parking lot should have designated areas for truck/trailer parking so there are enough spots if you get in late. Had a very nice relaxing vacation with great fishing!

If you are looking for WiFi
Wifi totally inoperable. Especially since cellular towers scarce in that area. Restaurant food saturated with oil. Avoid the fried foods. Lower level lodge shows its wear.

The cabins were very clean. The staff were excellent. The food was very good and the bartenders Brady and Danny could not have been more pleasant. Oh, and the cleaning house was set up perfect.

Bed was very soft and lumpy. Woke up with back pain. Floor had indoor/outdoor carpet squares with several staples sticking up I kept catching my socks on. No refrigerator or microwave in room but did have a huge freezer. One ice maker for the whole lodge and it was always out of ice. Staff told me I could buy a bag of ice in the gift shop. Sir conditioning had poor controls . First it was freezing then it was hot . My room had not been updated since the 1950's. Parking lot is full of cigarette packs and butts.

Great location
Perfect location for our fishing excursion. Boat ramp is nearby, slips are available for rent and parking for your trailer is on site. Rooms were comfortable, table for two, recliner, no fridge but did have a freezer we could use to store fish. Kids enjoyed playing at the pool when the winds picked up and fishing was slow. Looks like there was an arcade area and a restaurant as well.

Great to be able to have access to boat parking at docks on the River below the resort. Would only need to unload and reload boat once while fishing. The Villas were nice and kitchens well equipped with large fridge, large stove, microwave and dishwasher. The upstairs Villas do have steep stairs up to cabins on top which would be difficult for anyone unable to do many stairs or handicapped. A bottom Villa on ground level would be a better option for those people. Overall, Villas were a great place to stay and nice view of the Rainy River.

Nice people and great location for fishing the Rainy River and LOTWs. Only reason for not all positive reviews was a slow draining tub, old crackers on the floor from and dried soda on one of the chairs from previous guests. I stayed in an attached hotel room- not a cabin. The walls are fairly thin so you will want ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Room was clean and comfortable. Spent most of our time out fishing or in our room, as masking policy was not enforced on visitors or staff. With Covid on the rise in the area and allegedly in the facility, didn't feel comfortable spending too much time at the bar or evening dining. We had breakfast early each day and the staff were very diligent about masking so that was not an issue, but hallways and desk and bar area more of an issue.

We are sorry to hear that were dissatisfied with your accommodations. Currently we are updating our lodge rooms and now that the city has put a sewer system through our area (we had been waiting on them) we will be updating our older rustic cabins to villas.

The waterfront location is amazing, the accommodations were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating even for a late check in. Would definitely stay again.

Obnoxious, foul-mouthed bartender trading f-bombs with two friends at the bar for the 20-minutes I was having dinner. LOUD live music blaring throughout the complex 9pm-midnight.
