Perfect getaway
We had a great trip, this cottage was cozy for a family of four. Our boys immediately fell in love when we walked in. It was close to everything that we wanted to do. The golf cart rental next door was great as well. We will be back.

Great for Christmas
My parents stayed at the Sugar Cottage over Christmas. It was warm and cozy when is was literally freezing outside. The owner was responsive and went above and beyond, even putting up a little Christmas Tree and bringing an extra heater just in case. The property is centrally located and the town walkable. The cottage has everything one could need. We had a very nice Christmas!

Cute place on edge of downtown
As a weekend visitor to Bat St. Louis is downtown area has plenty to offer for a weekend and this carriage house is the perfect location. The bikes were nice to have but we didn’t need as it’s close enough to walk most of the downtown area. It is very close to the train tracks which did disturb our sleep both nights. With Its loud whistle and the bed vibrating as the train passes, I cant imagine anyone can sleep through that. Of course that is no fault of the owner and we otherwise loved our stay and the cute BSL. The carriage house was well stocked with coffee pot, even coffee and filters, and all the necessities for cooking as well as toilet paper and towels and nice linens. It does appear the neighbor rents golf carts though we really didn’t need.

Fabulous Girls Trip !
We are in love with this cottage and location. This was exactly what we needed for our girls trip! Walking distance to everything. I was super impressed this was in the middle of town but yet secluded and private. Loved the use of the bicycles as well. Very well appointed and had everything we needed. Thank you so much and we definitely will be back again!

Excellent location and a super nice host.
This was our 3rd year staying here for the Witches Walk. The Sugar Shack was very comfortable and we finally got to meet the super nice owner. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Hope to stay again next year.

Family Fun at the Sugar Shack
This was a perfect place for our family to have a end of summer vacation! The cottage was small but had everything we could have wanted. The close proximity to the beach was wonderful. We were within walking distance of fun shops and excellent restaurants. We will definitely come back.

Cute little cottage in a gem of a beach town
Our family of 5 stayed here for just under a week. The cottage had everything we needed. It's tucked away so you get privacy. There is a beach within walking distance and also a larger beach a few miles away. We took a day trip over to New Orleans as well, which is about an hour away. Bay St Louis has lots of cute little shops, restaurants and bars that you can walk to from the cottage. Only downside about the location is the train tracks nearby. But we really enjoyed it and would definitely stay again!

Bay St Louis 1st timer

4th of July getaway
We had a great time at this cozy carriage house! Everything we needed, and then some. Communication with the owner was always very easy. We were able to rent a golf cart for our stay right next door! The location of this property is perfect for walking anywhere in town. Close to all of the coffee shops, restaurants, etc. we will definitely be back! Thanks so much.

Quaint Cottage!
The wife and I spent a couple days for a first time trip to Bay St. Louis. This carriage house is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy some downtime. There are lots of places to walk and the amenities were helpful. A nice treat was the very kind neighbors next who rent golf carts. They were very accommodating.

Great location for Old Town
You are in walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in Old Town Bay St. Louis. A freight train runs through the town periodically; you are close to the tracks, but that did not bother us - was very nostalgic!

A lovely retreat from the Michigan winter doldrums.
The carriage house is very clean and has a comfortable beach feel without being cliché. Love the friendly neighbors as well the easy access to coffee shops restaurants and the short walk to the beach. This is our 2nd visit and it won’t be our last!

We loved the town of Bay St. Louis and will definitely be back. Unfortunately, the cable and internet we down for our entire stay at our rental. The owner did try to get it fixed but he was out of the country. I would suggest that he not rent if he's not in town to address issues or he hire a property manager when gone.

Sorry about the internet outage and i did try to get this restore. Unfortunately Mediacom decided to cancel a technician visit without timely notification resulting in a 2 day delay. In 11 years this is the first time we have experienced this scenario. also issued you a refund. With as much as the town has to offer i hope that missing cable television was not truly devastating.

We came to BSL to celebrate our 23 wedding anniversary. It was perfect. Very comfortable, bright and airy. Everything we needed. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a king size bed.

Girls trip. This place was perfect . Close to shopping, restaurants, and tripletails.
Girls trip with two of my close friends, we had a blast enjoying the surrounding shops restaurants and bars. But the best part was a girl talk in the Early morning hours over breakfast in the living room area. We even watch a movie. We definitely will be booking the spot again

A Summer Vacation
We enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Shack. Some of the pictures in the listing were misleading. I did not realize the bedroom were upstairs. The bedrooms were always cool. It would have been nice to have a fan on the lower floor to circulate the air on the lower floor which was always warmer.

Everything was great! Property was just as described; no, it was even better. Keys were in very accessible place but away from prying eyes. Everything inside the property was great. Very quiet, even though the next door neighbors were having a graduation party for their son (and friends). We really had a wonderful time. This was our second visit to BSL and it certainly won’t be our last. Hope to get same property next time.

Perfect Family Holiday
We loved this property and found Bay St. Louis charming. We enjoyed walks in town and by the Gulf, and it was great to have use of the bicycles to see more of the area. We enjoyed being right “in town” and found the carriage house to be very clean and have exactly what we needed. There were plenty of restaurants in town with outdoor seating, which was as important to us. We especially liked the Mockingbird Cafe. For our family, it felt like a safe way in 2020 to have a fun and relaxing get away during the holidays.

small, but cute and very close to EVERYTHING!
The code to get into the lock box was wrong, then the owner didn't know what the new code was, so that was a 20 min ordeal. The bathtub needs to be replaced or at least re-caulked. Those were the only negatives b/c this place was so close to everything, it was great! Also, well stocked kitchen items, even spices. There were bikes which was so fun!

Mother Daughter Get Away
My sister and I wanted a quick get away with our 3 daughters (ages 24-61). The location was just as listed. We were able to walk to all of our shopping places, restaurants, and night time entertainment. We were pleasantly surprised with ample towels and wash clothes. We packed a few extra for in case and were not needed. The place is clean, adorable, and spacious. We were disappointed that Tropical Storm Beta cast light rain on the weekend. We were really looking forward to some bike riding. Lol. My sister is already looking for a weekend to go back with our spouses. Don’t hesitate on booking this one!

Family Vacation
The Sugar Shack is ideal for a family of 4. A block and half away from the beach, and a short walk to shops and restaurants. Bikes provided by the owners are perfect, so unless you want one, you don't need a golf cart when staying here. The place is very clean. We stayed a week, and cooked three dinners and the kitchen has everything you need. The courtyard is small, but nice and a perfect place for a cup of coffee in the morning. The owner allowed us to use their kayak, which was great. Overall, Bay St. Louis is a great alternative to the rest of the gulf coast. It has enough things to do without all the hubbub of Destin or Gulf Shores. Perfect place to unwind, relax on the beach, do a little fishing, etc. And the Sugar Shack made a great retreat for our family!

Cristobal Vacation!
The Sugar Shack was a lovely place to stay. Perfect for the four of us. Kids loved being able to ride the bikes and we were just a block from the beach! Despite the fact that we showed up just before a tropical storm, we had a great time and my son and I were able to spend lots of time fishing the local piers while the wife hit every antique shop in town! Owners were great and we would definitely rent again!

Wonderful experience!!!
The Sugar Shack was the perfect home away from home and nestled nicely between New Orleans and Biloxi. It was just my wife and I but there is plenty of room for the kids. Nice touch having bikes available to take in the beaches of Bay St Louis!! Our host was super helpful with things to do and restaurant suggestions. We loved our stay and can't wait to return after it warms up a little.

Quaint Awesome Location
This was a last minute rental for us, just wanting to get away to the coast from New Orleans for the weekend. I know Bay St. Louis really well and the location of the Sugar Shack was fantastic. A short walk and you are to Main Street for shops and restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed including access to bicycles, beach chairs and water toys. The only reason I left 1 star off was because of the mattresses...not a big deal really, just that they were all really soft and my older back needed a little more firmness. Other than that...I would say come on over to BSL and stay at the Sugar Shack. You will not be dissapointed.
