Rustieke authentieke Michigan blokhut

Ga op weg naar een ongerepte omgeving, een plek die vrijwel onaangetast en ongerept is geweest, dat is Beaver Island. Onze hut (Kelly's Point) ligt 40 voet van Lake Michigan op een 2 hectare groot perceel. Het uitzicht op Lake Michigan en The Fox Islands is spectaculair!

Vervoer naar Beaver Island: De eerste stop is Charlevoix, MI, een havenstad in Lake Michigan, ongeveer 250 mijl ten noorden van Detroit. U kunt ook vliegen naar luchthavens van Pelston of Traverse City en verbinding maken met Beaver Island Ferry of Island Airways in Charlevoix. Neem vanaf Charlevoix een snelle vlucht van 20 minuten of de ontspannen veerboottocht van 2 uur op het eiland Emerald. Hoe dan ook, het is een geweldig avontuur!

Wanneer je op het eiland aankomt, zul je een plek vinden die je terug in de tijd brengt. Langzaam, geduldig, vriendelijk en mooi! Misschien wilt u stoppen bij de Shamrock voor een drankje na de veerboot of neem de schilderachtige 20 minuten rijden rechtstreeks naar Kelly's Point. De afstand wordt gemeten door de tijd op het eiland, de meeste wegen zijn niet geasfalteerd ... het is gewoon een andere manier om je te vertragen!

Wanneer u Kelly's Point bereikt, rijdt u via een bebost pad naar een uitgestrekt open gebied met verspreide bomen langs de omtrek. Kelly's Point werd voor het eerst gebouwd in de jaren 1930 als een originele eilandcabine. Het wordt momenteel gemoderniseerd. Er is een functionerend binnentoilet, buitendouche, gootsteen en elektriciteit. Kelly's Point is erg charmant, met een spectaculair uitzicht op Lake Michigan. Het is 900sq. voeten, heeft een grote veranda en een prachtig strand. Alle meubels zijn nieuw of lokaal antiek. Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de huurder om zijn eigen lakens en handdoeken mee te nemen. Kelly's Point heeft een charmant decor met een open lay-out met 11 ramen, met uitzicht op Lake Michigan. Er is een slaapkamer met 2 eenpersoonsbedden. Het is een perfect uitje voor 2 personen!
U kunt genieten van een goed boek met uitzicht op Lake Michigan, het kilometerslange zandstrand lopen dat helder, ongerept en vrij is, neem een duik in het heldere water van het meer, verken het eiland en meer dan 100 mijl van wegen, vis op een van de 5 binnenwateren meren, geroosterde marshmallows in de vuurplaats op het strand, bewonder de vele sterren, ontdek enkele van de andere eilanden in de Archipelego, bezoek de spa voor een massage, speel negen op de Beaver golfbaan, lounge op het terras, cocktails in Nina's, Donnegal Bay om te genieten van de zonsondergang, bezoek het CMU Biological center, of de 2 vuurtorens op het eiland, Little Sand Bay, Iron Ore Bay of gewoon niets doen! Dit is een vakantie om nooit te vergeten en je uitgerust te voelen.

Sweet spot

Lovely little break from society in your very rustic piece of paradise. It's only a 1/2 bath as there is no shower or bath facility. When you say bring towels we naturally assumed bath towels not kitchen. Lol. Great experience .

Beautiful location

This was our 3rd year staying here and we have never been disappointed! It's a spectacular place to stay. There's so much rustic charm in the place. You see so much wildlife and the sunrises are beautiful. The entire island is like going back in time. There's not a single thing we would change. The owners are great as well. Our power went out and I messaged them to see if they could find out when it would be back on and they responded quickly. It ended up coming right back on though. We are already planning our trip for next year!!

Perfect honeymoon get away

Everything was amazing and comfortable and relaxing, only “issues” was a giant spider we came across in the bathroom plus all the little flies and spiders everywhere else but for a cabin on the water in beaver island it’s pretty much spotless

Weekend birdwatching

This cabin was perfect for our weekend birdwatching trip to Beaver Island. We actually had many birds right at the cabin! Although we were in "high bug season" the screens on all the windows allowed us to open everything up and enjoy the crisp spring air and the sound of the waves on the beach. This cabin is rustic, exactly as the advertising says, but is clean and has everything you will need. Keep in mind, there is no place for groceries, etc on the south end of the island. Make a stop at the one grocery store on the island in town before you drive to the cabin. We enjoyed the weekend here so much as did our pup, Maddie!

Idyllic romantic get away

Cozy, rustic cottage right on the water. Secluded and quiet aside from the sound of the waves on water and the wind. Warm fireplace inside and fresh crisp air off the water flowing through the windows if you wish. Simply beautiful, relaxing, and special. Loved it, thank you!

Although the location of this cabin is spectacular, each day (and upon first entering) we had to deal with water snakes. This was unsettling to say the least. We paid for 4 nights but only stayed 2. In all I had to deal with 5 snakes over our brief stay.

We were suppose to stay at Kelly's Point but received a call from the owners that there was a Snake problem so they would have to place us at their private residence on the Island which was Eagles Nest. It was beautiful! Log cabin on the lake with kayaks and bikes to use! It was Private and quiet! It could have used a good dusting and cleaning but very nice!

This cabin is the perfect getaway! We celebrated our 10th anniversary here and couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and beautiful place to stay. We loved the rustic atmosphere and only wish we could have stayed longer!

Cabin on the lake.

This is definitely an old cabin. Takes you back in time. If you want peace and quiet Then this is the place to be. Seen a few snakes and the mosquitoes were kind of rough but I would definitely go back.

Fun time on the island

We were there from sept 16th through 19th. The cabin is old as expected. It was clean but there are many personal items around that have been collecting dust. The queen size mattress is so old and smelly. Definitely time for a new mattress. That would make many happy customers. In addition to bedsheets, I recommend bringing your own mattress pad, blankets and pillows. Maybe extra flat sheets for the couch and chairs. The living room furnitures are fine but cushions felt scratchy. Although we never really spent time in the living room. Back porch is a nice place to hang out and look at the lake. It would be nice to have comforter chairs to sit on. There is only one old chair with cushion and a plastic chair. Bring your own lawn chairs if you can. Kitchen is sufficient. There's indoor toilet and outside shower, which surprisingly nice. No snakes or mice that we can see. Few flies, no mosquitoes. Due to strong winds, the waves were very loud, that, at night, it sounded like a hurricane. The morning we left, the wind died down so the waves sounded like normal waves. Very pleasant. We brought our own vehicle and kayaks. We hiked few trails that lead to different remote beaches. All are just gorgeous. Cable creek beach, iron ore beach, Donegal bay, little sand bay, Bonners landing, karl erber nature preserve. We packed sandwiches and have picnics. We had dinner at Beaver Island lodge - way over priced. Will not going back there. Shamrock restaurant was good but still overpriced. Water was pleasantly warm enough to swim in. In summary, we had a very pleasant stay. You get used to the cabin after the first day. There was no tv and dvd player, which was fine because we didn't need it after all. Beach by the cabin is very rocky. Which is fine because I love rocks and sandy beaches are everywhere. All points are rocky and the bays are sandy.

Perfect relaxing cabin on the water

If you want a relaxing weekend on the water, this is the place for you. Especially if you enjoy a handcrafted cabin and rustic charm. Absolutely can't say enough great things about the place. Great for couples. Just book a stay and see for yourself. Make sure you rent a car from Duffy, you will need one as its a 30 minute trip into town.

Beaver Island Cabin

We had a wonderful time staying at Kellys Point. Its like camping but you have electricity and a real toilet. Bring everything you need, including bottled water for drinking and cooking. Overall we loved it!

Spectacular location!!

We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, tranquil, beautiful location!!! Just feet from the shore of Lake Michigan this cabin was everything we could have asked for. Definitely rustic but for us that was part of the appeal. We were initially nervous about the outside shower (it does face the only close neighbors) but we brought a tarp and hung it up and it worked perfectly. The breezes coming in all the windows at night was heavenly!! We're already making plans to come back for longer next summer.
