Great Escape
Nice location to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The view of Peaks of the Otter was beautiful. The owners are friendly and attentive to any needs you might have. The Sanctuary was well appointed and was a great respite.

Being forced to step away from all electronics my husband and I got to relax and have an amazing time in front of the beautiful mountains and under the amazing view of the stars. The majesty of the Sanctuary

“Sanctuary”. The perfect name for this little haven of rest and peace. This cozy farmhouse cottage is nestled in the midst of gentle Virginia mountains on rolling acres of beautiful-ness. So many favorite moments… the early mornings sitting outside to watch as birds and deer began to stir with the sun rising, hiking a trail at Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway, building a campfire out behind the house near the lake, and picking apples in a nearby orchard. A lovely lovely space overall!

We had a refreshing stay at this lovely farmhouse. Everything was just as listed. The view of the mountains was breathtaking, and we just wanted to sit in that gazebo all day!! So quiet and peaceful. The decorating of apt were so cozy and added to the charm. Very welcoming.

Great farm style space for 3. Loved the view and sitting at the Gazebo. 35 mins to Lynchburg. Closer to peaks of otter for hiking! The host was there to greet us. She even grabbed us extra chairs to offer a friend who came for a short visit before heading to town. Very lovely stay!

Truly is a Sanctuary
This property truly is a slice of heaven - appropriately named Sanctuary. The views, the wildlife, and our hosts were nothing less than wonderful. Our accommodations were spotless, extremely comfortable and so cutely decorated. We had everything we needed to make us feel at home. We appreciated the intentionality of our hosts encouraging guests to disconnect and breathe in the beauty of nature and peace. We will 100% be a returning guest!

This was a return visit and we're so glad we came back! The peace, tranquility and beauty of Sanctuary lives on. Christine and Jason are wonderful hosts. We did a little hiking and walking in the Blue Ridge and got to know the town of Bedford which was just ok. The D-Day Memorial was excellent. Make sure you get connected to one of their free tours.

It was really out of the way of the hustle and bustle of busyness but was so very refreshing. Fabulous getaway!
Santuary is aptly named. This lovely cottage in the mountains was the perfect spot to unwind. The decor was lovely, the bed was comfy, the shower just right and the views were spectacular. The host was equally wonderful so this was a fabulous getaway for me and my husband!

This small farmhouse suite is perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Me and my boyfriend love going to small towns to unwind, get away, and see places that are unheard of. This place was beyond our expectations. We had a big day on Friday and didn’t get to check in until 8pm but I’m so happy we did because waking up to the view was breathtaking. It’s an active farm so we got to see the cow and kittens that roam the grounds. You don’t have much service and there isn’t Wi-Fi but it’s nice to not be attached to the phone and just be together. If you’re looking for a place to unwind and be together this place is perfect for you! I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as we did (:

If you are looking for peace for your soul and time away to refocus and regenerate then this is the place!! You are off the grid (no cell service or minimal and no TV) but it's amazing how you soon forget all that and learn how to really relax and enjoy the moment you are in!

The name says it all!
We had an amazingly peaceful and rejuvenating stay. Our host greeted us upon arrival and then otherwise afforded us our privacy. The property and apartment are wonderfully beautiful and thought out from the view and pond to the soaking tub and reading material. There were even mandala coloring supplies! My only wish was that we could’ve stayed longer. We will certainly return to “the sanctuary.”

The property is absolutely amazing. Pictures do not do the view justice. It's was the most relaxing stay I've had on VRBO. It is off grid so there is no Internet (except for emergencies) but that is exactly what it needed. I will definitely be going back.

Country Paradise and True Sanctuary
I enjoyed every moment. It is an adorable place with stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property was clean and neat. I am picky so when I say that, I mean it. I love quiet places as well and it was peaceful and relaxing. I truly loved Sanctuary and felt so blessed! Christine answered any questions we had very quickly and was very friendly. The town of Forest nearby offers many options for dining. Trails are nearby as well. I am an ultra runner, so having options for trails was perfect. Thank you, Christine!

Super cute property. Very clean and organized. They have everything you need: books, snacks, games etc Keep in mind there’s NO Wifi or sell service. So if you want to work during your stay - probably not going to happen :) But we were on vacation and it was a very relaxing and serene experience without our phones. The nature around is mind blowing - the pictures on the listing don’t do it’s justice. It’s 100000% better in person. Highly recommend sitting in the cabana outside with a drink and watch the sun set behind the mountain. If we ever travel to Virginia again - I would stay here for more than just one night. It was incredible!

My husband and I were in Roanoke for business, and he surprised me by planning an extra day/night in Bedford. Sanctuary is a beautiful, peaceful home and property. Before we even had a chance to take in the gorgeous views, we were greeted with a personalized note telling us our stay had been prayed over. We have never experienced this anywhere, and it added to the comfort of our very cozy stay. On our walk around the property, my husband really enjoyed seeing the apiary and an old chicken coop, while I loved the kitties and deer. There's a perfect view of the Peeks of Otter. When we are in the area again, we would love to return to Sanctuary.

I had a wonderful stay at The Sanctuary. It's on a gorgeous property, far enough out of the way to offer tranquility and connection to nature, yet close enough to anything you may need or want. The views are spectacular, and the accommodations were lovely with everything needed right at hand. The fire pit by the pond was especially enjoyable to relax following my days exploring. Despite being an apartment attached to the main farmhouse, it felt completely private and serene. Christine and Jason were warm and excellent hosts. They responded quickly and graciously to every question I had and were helpful in every way. I wouldn't hesitate to book a stay at the Sanctuary again. Thank you, Christine and Jason!!

My sister and I really enjoyed our getaway at The Sanctuary. Although it is a wing of a larger house, it feels completely separate and is very quiet. There is not a sense of anyone being around and it is down a very long lane. The property was fun to walk and we saw deer and several interesting birds. The kitchen had all of the cookware we needed and the bed was very comfortable. It was very clean and we came away refreshed.

Owners really thought of every single detail and went WAY above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay. Needless to say, we absolutely did.
