'Checking in was awful as they tried to sell us a more expensive room with all kinds of excuses. Fine if you want to upgrade us for free, but don’t start with all the nonsense. The rooms are in need of an update. Would not stay here again.'

'Staff was very accomodating. Really enjoyed the place, a bit old timey but for the price you cant beat it. Free Coffee in the lobby was Ok. Free bkfst, was yucks...but no worries Mcd up the road 3 minutes. Loved the manager and his family, they work hard to keep things nice.'

'The place has potential. The rooms are nice but the problem is the light outside the rooms that shine into the window. The curtain does not totally black it out. So, now I have this yellow hugh of lighting and it wasn't good. Also, the air conditioner is behind the door next to the bathroom. Weird spot because the door blocks it. I personally will not be back. But, with work. It has potential. Oh, also, its a best western in disguise. I hate when hotels do this'

'We were assigned Room 101. Unfortunately, it was not clean. We found several cigarette butts under the bed, which was especially concerning since we were traveling with our toddler. We had expected a clean, non-smoking room. On a positive note, the management was friendly and helpful, but the cleanliness of the room was disappointing.'

'My check-in experience at this Holiday Inn Michigan City was disappointing. I waited at the front desk for about five minutes before a staff member came out. Instead of greeting or assisting the guests who had been waiting in person, she answered the phone and helped the caller first. It was frustrating to stand there waiting only to be overlooked in favor of someone calling in. A simple acknowledgment or checking in the guests who were already at the desk would have made for a much better first...

'There was no office. Front of building including restaurant appeared shut down for renovations. No sign out front. Trashy people hanging around various places outside, so I left and found another place to stay.'
