'Prachtig hotel dat opgaat in de omgeving. Ruime familiekamer (wij hadden twee geconnecteerde kamers) met design dat 100% onze smaak was. Lekker eten, zelfgemaakte cake in de namiddag en bij ontbijt, fruit en water bij het zwembad. Alles qua eten met streekgebonden producten. Kleinschalig en persoonlijk.'

I would absolutely recommend those visiting this area to consider staying here as it is also very charming. I also enjoyed waking up early to watch the sunrise, it was great place to see it.'
'Staff were excellent at the front desk, gave us a welcome drink and a full tour of the facilites. Restaurant staff could use some training and a better process for servicing the tables. Hotel is clean, quiet and secure. Pool area with sauna and Turkish bath is very nice.'

'Our stay at Casa do Rio was exceptional. There are 10 rooms with stunning views of the Douro River and vineyards. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and we were welcomed with a plate of fresh figs and white port and all ingredients to make portonics.
The grounds are lovely with an infinity pool overlooking the river and two semi private fresh water dunking pools.
