Great place to spend quality family time
We used the well-stocked kitchen to make many meals for our family of 6, played many card games on the beautiful dining table, watched the snow fall daily, and enjoyed movies in the comfy living room. The owner was delightful and responsive.

4th of July week 2023
We did it all. Enjoyed a lovely home with plenty of room for the 9 of us. 5 adults and 4 teens. Spent time at the beach, kayaking and swimming, pontoon ride, Bear dunes for picnic and chilly swim, fireworks from local beach, bonfire and s’mores, hiking, puzzles and games, ping pong in basement. Did some shopping Great week.

Wonderful stay!
We had a great time at the rental! The cabin / house is well stocked with anything you could possibly need. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was very beautiful, surrounded by the woods. About a 10 minute drive to the yellow chairlift. We would definitely stay here again.

perfect spot for golfing
we stayed here to ski and tube in the winter which was just a short drive. they warned about the steep driveway and that you needed a 4x4 vehicle. Listen to that warning. No worries for us. I would love to come back and stay here for golf! Right on the course.

We absolutely loved this property. Upon arrival you could smell that the place was clean and ready. The pictures were accurate and communication with the owner was top notch. Peaceful Stay
We were here for Thanksgiving and enjoyed the peaceful woods and greens. Saw a pileated woodpecker and deer. The layout of the house is better than in the pictures. Definitely lots of cooking tools: blender, toaster oven, nice knives, and adorable vintage dishes! The water is a bit smelly but tastes fine. The other reviews are right; there are plenty of extra sheets. If you have fragrance allergies, though, bring your own (and towels), as the detergent or fabric softener is quite strong. Loved the stay here!

The house was is a great area. We were able to drive to many great places like Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Torch Lake, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Mackinac Island. The house was well equipped and Matt the host was awesome. I would stay there again!

Annual ski trip
Getting to the house isn’t easy in the winter but we all have 4x4 which means no one got stuck! The house is perfect for a family and friends winter vacation. This is our second time staying here we love the updates.

Winter Getaway!
We had an awesome stay at this beautiful house! Very convenient to get to and from Schuss, and a very cool location. The house itself was fantastic and had what we needed. Check-in/check-out was a breeze and the host was in regular communication with us. Top notch!

Beautiful home on a quiet forest hilltop near golf course
What a wonderful place to stay for peace and solitude. Located in a forest that backs up to The Legend golf course. Very private and quiet - we had long walks through the hills and forest. The home was decorated beautifully with comfortable beds, clean accommodations, well equipped kitchen, three full bathrooms, nice master bedroom en-suite, two family room areas. Instructions for house use were well written out and easy to follow . Loved having access to outdoor and indoor pools - they were a hit with the grandkids. We also used the private beach area - nice and clean (gas grills at the beach area available for use). Close to so many great areas - Leelanau peninsula, Charlevoix city, Norwood beach, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, and so much more.

We had a really great week at this property! We had 4 adults and two toddlers and we had plenty of room. The house is exactly as described. We had a big hiccup when we arrived but the hosts contacted us back right away and it was dealt with immediately. We would definitely stay here again!

Great family getaway!
Great property for a family ski getaway! Kids enjoyed sledding in the backyard, and quick drive to skiing. House was better than the photos and great reprieve from the busy day. Definitely need 4WD in the area, and drive safely as we slid on some ice and hit a tree. Overall still a great escape from the lockdown.

Great week at this comfortable Shanty Creek home
Highly recommend this home in a very private wooded setting next to the Legend golf course. Enjoyed family time on the deck and using the fire pit at the home as well as boating on Torch Lake, a couple of days of golf and easy day trips to Charlevoix, Mackinac Island, and Traverse City. The owner is very responsive and even arranged to have a load of laundry we accidentally left in the dryer mailed to our home.

There is so much to do in the area that all ages can have fun. Although the property is not on the lake, the property is very nice and private amongst a forest of trees and a golf course. Excellent property with many amenities
This home was very comfortable for our party of 9; 4 adults and 5 kids (age 16-20). We loved using the fire pit for s'mores and playing cards on the back deck. Completely secluded in a wonderful community. We visited the fitness center and swam in the main pool. We also checked out the beach club but ran out of time to use it. You can rent paddleboards from Paddles and Peddles and they will deliver paddleboards to the beach club.

Lots of space and amenities.
We stayed for 2 nights with 8 people for a ski weekend. There was plenty of room to spread out. It was really nice to have 2 living rooms and 3 full bathrooms as well. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the ping pong table also. Everything that we needed was provided in kitchen and there were plenty of towels for the bathrooms. The driveway is pretty steep but they plowed it and sanded it on Saturday even though there was just a light dusting of new snow. All of our vehicles were front wheel drive only. The arrival and departure instructions were very clear and there were also instructions for the fireplace. The property is beautiful and would be great in the summer too. Matt was nice enough to send us a pass for a lift ticket also. We will definitely be back!
