I want to say the host was eager to fix issues and the cleaning lady was nice. BUT, I shouldn't have had any issues for what I was paying and where we were staying. When we checked in, we first vacuumed the floors as the rugs didn't seem to be done already - there were crumbs from before we were there. The loft space upstairs was a cute space for the kids, but we drug the vacuum up there to clean it because it was dirty. It seemed to be a catchall place for junk...they even found an oxygen mask up there...hmm? I dunno - I said to toss it back where you found it. There were dirty red wine glasses in the cabinet, someone's drink in the freezer (didn't figure that out til we were leaving - we all thought it was each others!) dirty socks in my dresser drawer. The beds were made beautifully. I'm not convinced the bath mats are washed between people. For what the rooms are and the space, the cabin is well appointed...just seems to lack attention to detail. The front door handle fell off and we had to find a screw driver to reattach it. The hot tub was lined in someone's makeup or lotion. It was GROSS. The hottub was the entire reason we booked this place...so that REALLY sucked. Also - the cover...I've never seen one not attached to a hinge so one person can easily open/close it. This is a fully lift off and move out of the way type situation...it was pain in butt to use (after the cleaner came out and filled it and put in more chemicals). The dishwasher wheel was missing so opening it and loading it was a pain because it kept going off track. We found the missing wheel in a drawer and reattached it. I found the bed reasonably comfortable. The pillows were flat and in my opinion need of replacing. There was great storage everywhere except the kitchen. The fans don't have a string, so you can't adjust the speed without climbing on something and getting creative. Overall tho - I was super disappointed. I was so completely grossed out by the state of the hottub. I don't think for paying as large a sum as I did for a weekend that I should have had to wash a hottub, unload anyone else's dishes, repair a door handle, change dead lightbulbs, repair a dishwasher rack, vacuum, or find dirty glasses, cups and socks in the space I paid a lot for. Maybe it's like the stores in town...a 20% upcharge for visitors (Fairfax Coffee House)...OH, and the garbage...hadn't been emptied in a while so we couldn't take out our trash! Hammock was broken
