'Thanks for a wonderful stay Nigel! Your hospitality and local knowledge was second to none! We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge and reading all about how it was built. Such a beautiful setting with a big peaceful field all around us, the quiet and the comfort of a well constructed property! The little treats left for us on day one was very thoughtful and heartwarming. Thank you!!'

'Really lovely staff, lovely room and great food. Only point to note is that the accomodation is above the pub, so if you go to bed early this may not be the place for you as some of the bar sounds can be heard until closing time.'

'The hotel was in the ideal location for our purpose. It had its own car park which was convenient. The building looks good from the outside, unfortunately the rooms are out dated and ours was very hot. As it was on the ground floor we did not feel it safe to open the larger windows and the small window did not provide sufficient cooling. We had noisy neighbours both above and next door, this was unlucky and could happen in any hotel.'

'Lovely old property . Nicely decorated. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately my bathroom needed refurbishing the bath was chipped and bath taps loose and parts missing. The window frame was rusty and needed painting. A shame because room decor was pleasant.'

'The room was clean and comfortable- bed a bit low and no armchair to sit in. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff were helpful and very friendly'

'On arrival I was told I’ve been downgraded to a standard room after paying for a premium room. Pretty rude staff wouldn’t change your alter and just saying I will just take it off the bill at the end. That wasn’t the answer what the answer I wanted was I’m sure your room isn’t available, but we can upgrade you to Different room, ordered two £40 steaks meals most of it was Fat with about eight chips overall we won’t be coming back really underrated for what you'

'Lovely spacious room with large en-suite. Very clean with water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Lovely little extra were the complimentary chocolates and sweets. Breakfast was excellent, excellent options, I had the Avocado on toast with poached eggs which was delicious and coffee was also good quality. Would highly recommend this hotel. Was great value.'
