I was a little worried about dirt road because i drive a small car but the roads are very well maintained. Even after the rain we had no problems. I feel many areas of Sam Rayburn cater to those who own boats. Since we do not, we explored nearby on our day of arrival. The cabin site had a grill, fire pit and play area that we enjoyed each evening after our day trips to Boykin Springs and Lake Tejas.
