'We had the BEST time at Ella Retreat! Sadly on 34 hours long but this hotel is seriously beautiful, better than the pictures. You need a head for heights on the (slightly hairy) tuk tuk ride up the mountain, but once you're there this is a haven that you simply cannot afford to miss on your trip to Sri Lanka. 'This small and charming hotel sits high upon the hill, overlooking a nearby village and the Oliphant Tea Factory. 'We stayed at this delightful mountain cabin in Ella. It hangs off the mountain, faces directly west for the perfect sunset between two peaks. The view is breathtaking. The pictures do not do the tiniest bit of justice. It's a brand new cottage with 2 seperate units. One with a bedroom + loft sleeps 4 people. The other is a two bedroom. The only downside to this place is getting there.. some steel hills, big vehicles cannot go. Tuk Tuks... that struggle to get up the hill or walk. It's worth it...

'The stay in Kent Cottage is probably one of the biggest highlight of the trip around Sri Lanka. The place had a very cosy feel. Didn't feel like I was in a hotel/cottage. The team for 3 did absolutely everything and more to make our stay a happy one. They attended to our needs immediately. 'We are a Group of 7 from Singapore and we had a Fantastic time at the Villa! Great Chef that does excellent local food. A Villa Manager that organizes everything you ask for. A owner that cares and checks in with us if our stay was alright! Definitely coming back. '
