'Me and the family needed this restart and refresh. This place is centrally located to everything. The lazy river was closed but the other pools were open. (Someone took my Birkenstock sandals from the pool area) I am still in shock because they were right beside my chair and I never left the area.. so disappointing, but I guess they needed them more than me. Overall met lots of friendly people and enjoyed our stay. Easy parking, clean fully stocked room and beautiful sunrise from beach view.'

10. Willow Bay Resort

'Rating: 1/5 (Zero stars if I could) Booking this hotel through Expedia was a complete nightmare, and the property is a total scam. Upon arrival, the initial room offered was filthy and infested with bugs. The front desk clerk—who admitted he was smoking marijuana in the back—offered a second room, which was even worse. After stepping out briefly to get food, I returned only to find the entire building locked shut. Nobody answered the phone, and I was forced to find emergency accommodations...

'My daughter and I were doing a college tour of the Great South. We booked this property from Expedia the day of. We arrived to find that this was not a hotel but a condominium being rented out as a short term rental. So there was no reception desk. The address given was for a retail store and there was very little signage to identify it. After the wonderful interaction with a resident of the building she let us know about the check in protocol. After searching numerous emails and texts we found...

'The property had great views of the ocean, beautiful sand, and quiet. Unfortunately, the condo was dirty. There was dirt on the floors dust on the fans stains on the counter spilt drinks on the wall not wiped down. Windows were not clean just very dirty. Then we did an early check-in when we got there at 2 o’clock, so we would be called was never called. 19. Seaside Elegance Your Coastal Getaway

'The room was clean and nicely updated. The outside patio area was horrible. The flooring was temporary with plywood and the wall between units was broken with weeds growing up. It was clearly not maintained as I had seen a previous review stating this earlier and it was still not fixed. The pool shown in pics and the pool on site was totally different. The pool with our room was tiny and not clean. However, the proximity to the beach was wonderful and was an easy walk. The area of the beach...
