'I have no idea how this hotel has such a good rating. So misleading. I’m driving cross country and am exhausted from a 15 hr drive. I check Expedia and think okay this is a good one at a fair price. I get to my room, walk in and get hit with a mildew smell. The sheets on the bed were moist and the towels in the bathroom the same, moist towels. Totally disgusting. The shampoo in the bathroom they provide has enough in it for one shower. Found a large bug crawling on my wall. To top of this...

'It is understandable that the place appears run down the building has been around since the first Bush administration. with that said, I think the staff has done a great job with the canvas they have been given to paint on. they were very helpful. the room itself had a funky smell to it immediately that I never got used to and the shades are old and do not block out the sun early in the morning from an eastern facing room.'

'The room is outdated but clean, afternoon staff is great! Morning staff needs help and breakfast is horrible! The pancake batter is supposed to be on ice packs to stay cool so it was turning bad! I work at a hotel also so thats why i knew it was not gonna be good since i do breakfast also! Was a quiet nights rest and thats what was needed!'

'A very low rate for the night and the room was very clean and bed was fine. Had a slight smoke smell but was not bad. I couldn’t TV to work, no Kleenex, no coffee pot or other amenities. I got a good nights rest so pleased'

'My hosts were very cordial and kind. The bunkhouse was enjoyable for a relaxing break with a wood burning stove and a dark sky to view the stars. Their ranch dogs were well trained to engage with me when I wanted to spend time with them. '

'Nice beds and TVs in all 5 rooms. Large kitchen and great outdoor seating spaces. Cozy and family friendly. Nice location close to Johnson Lake State Park for fishing. A little bit of a walk to the beach to swim.'
