'Loved this no frills historic hotel. No fuss - just texted me door code to the room, which was all in perfect order. The hotel is just opposite Deal's beautiful beach - if you get a sea view room you'll catch the sunrise. Great work by the hotel owners - shows you can run an historic hotel in a great location but still make it affordable to all visitors'

'We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. The property was perfect… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor, superb location, sauna was a bonus and the garden was very pretty. Deal itself was a very welcoming town, friendly people. We’d recommend Margarita’s for take away pizza and Mike’s Bikes for cycle hire. Walking distance into Deal from the cottage was about 30mins, which along the seafront was no time at all. 'I booked this apartment because the description said it was within walking distance of Sandwich town centre, and the map that was displayed prior to booking indicated it was located off Moat Sole in Sandwich town centre. It was only after I had gone through the booking process for what was a seriously expensive booking, a new address was provided for the property approx 1.6 miles away in Woodnesborough! I have restricted mobility and needed to be closer to the town so I asked if I could cancel....

'While the location in Dover is excellent, the property was disappointing. The property appeared unattended and our apartment wasn't well cleaned. The picture on the VRBO website made me believe the unit was of a much higher quality. While Dover was amazing, the accommodation was the low point of our UK holiday.'

'Bright and cosy stay in a one bed flat in a small terraced house. Lively high ceilings and view to the sea through the baw windows. It's not a luxury hotel! - but was functional, clean and a great option for a weekend at a festival in neighbouring town Margate. Good prices, excellent communication, on-street parking and short stroll to the beach. '

'Our stay at Gaynor & Barry's lovely place was absolutely perfect! The apartment was cosy and fully serviced and it was very easy to drive to Canterbury to visit the catherdral. I highly recommend the accommodation!'

'Lovely flat in an ideal location. Close to little town filled with lovely cafes, bars etc. right on the beach, would like to return! '

'Good for a short stay. Has everything you need, but it’s a rather small room. There’s a folding table and there’s only one chair so you have to sit on the bed. The kitchen has only two small pans, so you can’t cook anything. Lovely garden and good location (20 min. walk to centre and near train station). '
