'I stayed for two nights in a one bedroom "Delux Chalet" which had a nice patio so you could sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The room was very nice with a draw-around mosquito net on the bed which I didn't use. The bathroom had been completely renovated with floor to ceiling ceramic tiles with a full-sized bathtub at one end and a large shower at the other end. The room is extremely quiet at night and only the sounds of ducks quacking in the morning...no roosters! The complimentary breakfast...

'Mgoza lodge is right on the beach, and it has a very nice garden, restaurant and pool. At the same time it is right in the middle of a village; the village life going on around the lodge and on the beach in front of it.'

'Zeer mooie en ontspannen plek, goed onderhouden. Schoon zwembad met uitzicht op het meer. Fijne kamers met alles wat je nodig hebt (o.a. grote bedden, warme douche, ventilator etc). Kamer kon echter niet op slot. Wat betreft communicatie van medewerkers valt nog winst te behalen (o.a. onduidelijkheid over beschikbaarheid keuken, onvriendelijke bejegening bij uitchecken).'

'I recently stayed at the Sunbird Capital Hotel over a 3 week period and couldn't be happier, mostly thanks to the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever encountered. The hotel rooms are more along the line of very comfortable 3 star in the U.S. (with some points of wear) than 5 star, but the atmosphere and service are the best I've experienced for solid business hotels in comparable settings. I'll take clean, comfortable rooms, lovely gardens, solid dining, and friendly, helpful staff...

'Just a one nighter on our journey south. We enjoyed lakeside rooms and a spectacular sunrise. No mosquito nets...? Friendly staff doing their best in difficult conditions.'

'The staff and management were very friendly and helpful. They helped us catch the ferry to Likoma Island. They use a generator in the evening if the Power is off. There is a tea kettle in the room but if the power is off they will bring you hot water for tea. Breakfast buffet with room rate. '

'The rooms are large, new, modern and beautiful. The bed very soft. The sliding door to balcony was very stiff and hard to open and close. There was only one room key per room as they did not have enough key cards. But despite those minor inconveniences, it was a beautiful hotel. '

'Sunbird Ku Chawe is situated high up on the Zomba Plateau - one definitely needs a car to get there. It has perfectly manicured beautiful gardens. Even though it was very hot the time that I was there, there is always a cool breeze as it is so high up! I loved my room with the views of the Zomba town & far off mountains such as Chiradzulu and Mulanje. Had a wet room and modern fixtures in the bathroom. There was a good selection of dishes for breakfast and varied menu for dinner. Although...

'Wat een prachtige plek was dit! Toen ik het terrein opkwam kwam er direct gevoel van rust over mij. Omgeving is prachtig, restaurant is heerlijk en er hangt een fijne sfeer. Maar de service is echt datgene waar ze voor mij in uitblinken. Ze doen er alles aan om je verblijf zonder zorgen te laten verlopen en zijn ontzettend vriendelijk. Ik voelde mij echt in de watten gelegd worden.'

'Food was excellent. Service of the staff as well. For my business visit wifi on my room was a reason to choose this hotel. However the wifi did not reach my room. Also you have to pay for the wifi, which is no big deal. It becomes rather complicated as you after every connection failure have to type in the long username and password...'
