'We hadden een balkon, maar de deur was afgesloten met een hangslot. Alles was versleten, gedateerd en aftands. Het behangpapier kwam op verschillende plaatsen los. De naam Royal hotel zeker niet waardig. De foto hiernaast komt helemaal niet overeen met de werkelijkheid. Ipv wit is de gevel grauw. Het ontbijt was wel goed.'

'Must remember, Dufftown is a small town with limited options. A wonderful “rustic farm stay with modern amenities” would be my description. Walkable to local restaurants and grocery stores. Can hit all distilleries within 10-20 minutes max.'

'We're rather disappointed on arrival as the pool was closed as was the restaurant. But were able to walk into town and get meal. Breakfast was excellent and the room comfortable. Most importantly the staff were superb and very helpful. We had a fire alarm on the first night and they responded superbly. Calm and organised and so reassuring. Liaised with fire brigade and the police so that all was calm. The fire was a bin set alight with a cigarette stub. The hotel is about to close for...

'We had a great stay. The cottage had everything we needed, plus the lovely view. Findochty is a very photogenic village, so I was out and about taking photos at all hours! On our arrival we were welcomed by dolphins frolicking in the sea in front of the cottage. The evening before our departure we were treated to the sight of a pod of orcas cruising past, quite close to the shore. '
