'My stay at the Pilot House was nothing but amazing. Karen, the owner, was very responsive to messages, making sure I found the place easily and providing great recommendations around the Island. The rooms are newly renovated with a luxury hotel feeling. Staying at the pilot house was above expectations. Looking forward to staying there again.'

'Barbara’s house is very old-time comfortable with ample big furniture, plenty of storage, big kitchen, lots of equipment, good AC, and she communicates quickly with any questions you have. 'The property is set off the main highway making it easy to find but there is very little traffic so highway noise is not a problem. The beach is a great walking and swimming beach. The water is relatively shallow allowing one to walk out 50 yards or so and being only waist deep. It would be perfect for those who like to just swim or sit in the cool water. 'Great vacation It's our second time in Winding Bay. Best house we stayed. The house is lovely, bed is very comfortable, kitchen well supplied, kayaks, paddle board. Nice and long beach, very quiet. Many groceries close, fresh fish at Tarpum bay dock and a local vendor for fruits and vegetables at Tarpum Bay. We discoverd a very good restaurant in Rock Sound, The Wild Orchid, reasonable prices and very good food. We want to Thank Chris, he is very easygoing and pleasant. We will come back....

The property is full of history, having been part of the Rock Sound Club started by Arthur Vining Davis. Karen has done an absolutely remarkable job renovating this part of the property - everything from the flooring to the landscaping, interior design...it was all so clean and looked new. 'We have stayed in Winding Bay several times many years ago. This is a relatively new home that includes a 4 bedroom guest house so a great amount of space for all ages. Kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and all the living areas perfect for those late afternoons before dinner. 'The common word that came to my head during our stay was INCREDIBLE! The house comes with everything you need. I must say I have family who likes a cold environment so the one air conditioner made me nervous but if you followed the instructions provided the house stayed cool during the day and the bedrooms would cool with the house at night. You don't even have to leave the house if you don't want to. It is like a self-service resort. My teenagers even had a great time. We saw so much sea life...
