'We WERE repeat customers until this past weekend. Do not waste your money on this place. Overcrowded, hazardous conditions and not enough staff or security to keep rogue customers in check. My daughter’s birthday was ruined as we had to cut our weekend short 7 hours in. She couldn’t even swim in the pool without being knocked over by other kids. At night there was screaming and yelling up the halls, outside and above our head was banging to the point where we could not even watch tv or fall...

'The food at the Piedmont Restaurant was not good. The menu was too sophisticated for the staff to execute. The lodge rooms were updated, but not very clean. There was a bridge in the gardens with rotted wooden slats and steps, and one section of the rail was missing altogether. The staff was friendly and helpful.'

The first room that was given to us smelled heavy of urine. I was given another room with no problem but there are visible stains on the comforters, carpets and curtains. When I showered the towel that I used looked like someone had previously used it clean their hands after working on a vehicle. I guarantee you I was not THAT dirty. Overall...

'The room was filthy! There was white spit on the faucet, which should have been cleaned! No plug for any drains. Rust marks around toilet. Toilet paper would not stay on the dispenser, since it was rusty and broken!'

'Freshly renovated, clean and the staff with extremely helpful when we wondered in late needing a place to sleep. Beds were comfy, room was cool, and the bathroom was clean with nice big towels. Breakfast the next morning was a nice boost before hitting the road to continue our journey.'

'Everything was excellent except for maintenance issues in the room: 1) no stopper for the bathtub, 2) missing hook to hang clothing on bathroom door, 3) vanity light switch that didn't work, and 4) burnt-out bulb in bedside lamp.'

'If you are into throwbacks with some upgraded amenities then this place is for you. It sits in a beautiful little town and you can imagine how it was at the turn of the century. We can’t say enough about this place from the price to the bed. Best mattress we have ever stayed on. We will be returning at some point and look forward to it until we do. Highly recommend.'

'I needed a place to lay my head. Mainstream inn was clean and comfortable. As a solo female, I felt safe there. I’m not one to need very many amenities. I typically don’t go to the breakfasts. There is none here, so it’s not a big deal for me. If you’re looking for fancy amenities, move on. '
