Better than expected.
Really nice stay, thanks to the easy going and friendly staff! Dinner exceeded our expectations, and the waitresses were so sweet and patient with our demands. Dont hesitate to pick this one!

The Hotel is set on the outskirts of Coventry and the outside does not look very pleasing but it is well maintained inside and the deco reflects modern. The bed was smaller than i expected plus the view was not the best unfortunately.

Fantastic stay!
Beautifully decorated throughout, huge bedroom, great bathroom, incredibly comfortable bed, lovely service. What more can you ask for? Had an evening meal and breakfast and both were delicious. Steak salad starter was cooked to perfection and was a steal at £8, while we genuinely thought we were undercharged when discovering the chef special pork fillet was only £14! Thoroughly enjoyable visit and such a shame that it appears to be closing down at the end of the year

Excellent stay
Could not find a single problem with our stay. Cleanliness, friendly staff, especially Emma, beautifully decorated hotel, fabulous breakfast and such a comfy room. On reading some reviews you would be worried about staying here but don't be. We would definitely have no problem returning.

Checking in was easy and the receptionist was very helpful. The toilet in the en suite bathroom was sealed to say it had been cleaned. However, this was not the case. On reporting this to the receptionist she came and cleaned it herself. I also gave ger the stained throw to take away with her. The meal we had there was lovely and we were given complimentry drinks for the issues we had with a room. For a Laura Ashley hotel I thought it would have been of a higher standard. Little things like holes on back of bathroom door not filled in where coat hook and lock had been. Bedroom doores could be updated or fresh coat of paint.

The staff service is excellent, very friendly and helpful. The only change we noticed was the weekend staff were not as engaging and appeared more lapse in their customer service. The cups in the restaurant we not very clean, had marks and even a dead fly, the staff need to check the tables before seating guests to ensure all tableware are clean and ready for guests to use.

The hotel looked good in the common areas but our room was Superior and we can’t work out why as the pictures showing superior rooms did not look like the one we were in it was small and only had one bedside table as there wasn’t room for two and the shower cubicle was tiny the cleaner had left a bottle of cleaning fluid in the bathroom and when we brushed our teeth before bed the cold water was Luke warm it was slightly cooler in the morning but still a bit warm. There was only one pillow per person. Breakfast was included and OK but if I had paid £15 for it I would be disappointed. There was a communal jug for juices with no sanitiser near the jugs and the same with the tongs for pastries I ordered toast and received one and a half slices and my poached eggs were more like hard boiled. The flower vases on the breakfast tables were not in the freshest condition and the water looked murky in the vase.

Absolutely outstanding staff couldn’t do enough for us. My Laura Ashley friends came for afternoon tea and they showed us around all the principle bedrooms. Absolutely wonderful! There was a wedding also during the 39 rule covid and they really made their day special. Fabulous chef edible flowers on my poached egg for breakfast!

Dear Mrs Abbassi, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. Firstly, I would like to apologise for the maintenance issues with your bathroom door and bed frame during your stay, these issues have now been rectified. Regarding the amenities offered within our rooms, we have been following strict company guidelines due to the current coronavirus pandemic. Which has led us to remove or reduce some of our amenities within our rooms. However, these items are still available on request. We also have a policy in place, that rooms for short stays will only be refreshed if the guests request this at reception, this is to minimise any spread of the virus. There is a welcome letter in all rooms explaining this. Regarding the Tea room based within the hotel, as this is run separately from our hotel and is popular, unfortunately due to tight government guidelines, we are unable to accommodate extra guests once we have reached our maximum occupancy. However, I have spoken to the employees that served you during your stay with us and they have informed me you ordered only a selection of cakes on your arrival day and was offered a table in our tea room on your second visit once we had a available sanitised table. Although you indicated you would be joining us for afternoon tea at breakfast, I am sorry our employees misunderstood this and presumed you already had a booking. However being at full occupancy our team managed to arrange a suitable table for you and your family, which you declined the offer of. During your check out experience I can only apologise for the lack of empathy you received, and I have implemented training to all staff members in dealing with guests that are unsatisfied with their overall stay. Duty mangers are available to speak to 24hours within our hotel, if we had been made aware at any point during your stay that you were unsatisfied, we would have done our upmost to make sure your stay was more comfortable. I am sorry we did not have the chance to do this. I am sorry that you found the staff to be unhelpful, this is certainly not the usual feedback received about our staff and I apologise for this. A nice hotel conveniently located in Coventry. The room has a Nespresso machine which was greatly appreciated and big comfortable beds with a pillow menu. It was very quiet because of Covid and we were often left alone in the dining room while the staff were elsewhere. Our room was a bit noisy as it looked out onto a road. There was double glazing in the room but not the bathroom and no air conditioning. The dinner menu was quite limited.

There was a mix up with my booking. I took four days for them to answer phone messages and emails. They wanted to charge me twice and showed no sign of flexibility or caring for customers. They only value profit. This hotel puts the Laura Ashley brand to shame. Avoid at all costs.

The hotel room is a bit small. But the Portughese receptionist Avin is superb. He is very courteous and hardworking. He managed check-in, bringing luggage, showing the room with checking of provisons, refilling the wood at the fireplace, managing the sitting arrangement in the restaurant, bringing items to the room (housekeeping)… Can't image his wide scope!

Don’t be fooled by Laura Ashley furnishings...
Don’t be fooled by the Laura Ashley soft furnishings, it is trying to mask an old hotel that’s been painted, and not very well. Old, drafty windows, heating in room 14 via 2 plug in radiators, no heating in bathroom, holes in bathroom door, hook hanging off the back of the door, and the list goes on. My stay was when there was no hot water one evening. It was fixed, but not a great welcome. Then basic things like the stair carpet was filthy with dirt that could be swept up. Finally, they’d run out of bacon at breakfast. Again, a small thing, but just not what I would expect from a £130 a night Laura Ashley hotel. Would not recommend at all.

Quality hotel - Well worth a visit

Not great if you have mobility issues
Its had a face lift but your booking remains the same said the receptionist when we arrived to check in. That is after we struggled up the stairs to reception which to my disabled legs were a chore without a banister to hold on to, in fact the entire hotel is not access able to mobility challenges guests. We were only booked in for one night, and although there is a restaurant and bar to have a "tab" opened you have to prepay a minimum of £30 at the time of checking in. After a climb of steep stairs - no lifts so no access to any rooms for mobility challenges guests (again) our room was at 32°, and we had no cold water running - apparently this was due to the pipes being located to close together as fact they knew yet they still let out the room without warning that there was no cold water and the room has tropical temperatures. We stayed before and it was charming if not a little shabby, now it's got a posh name and it isnt worth the stay. Genuinely disappointed and wont be back again.
