Lovingly restored by its namesake Aunt Susie, Auntie’s Attik is a cozy rustic cabin filled with whimsical touches. This studio-style space has a kitchenette, private bathroom with walk-in shower, plush queen bed, and East-facing screened-in porch. It is bright and comfortable with thoughtful details throughout. Auntie's Attik sits on a mossy hillside with a forested mountain rising behind it and open views of the campus below. It's the perfect spot for 1-2 guests to adventure and unwind!
At 4,000 feet of elevation, Auntie’s Attik offers sweeping views of the Seven Sisters peaks, dramatic mountain weather, and gorgeous sunrises. The property features a shared bonfire area and many peaceful spots to take in the surrounding nature. Hiking trails on the property are being restored and will soon lead to two waterfalls.
Our land is a true wildlife sanctuary, connecting to nearby treasures such as Craggy Gardens, Mount Mitchell State Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Pisgah National Forest. It lies within the Audubon Society’s Black and Craggy Mountains Important Bird Area, home to more than 90 recorded bird species, and recognized as one of the most significant natural communities in the southern Appalachians. You are out in the sticks, yet just 15-20 minutes from downtown Black Mountain, NC, where great restaurants, local shops, galleries, music, and outdoor adventure await.
Auntie's Attik is one of fourteen cabins at the Black Mountain Stomping Grounds—a private 24-acre mountaintop campus created for exploring, healing, and making memories. The Stomping Grounds is the future home of Mountain Man Physical Therapy, a retreat-style center for treatment, workshops, gatherings, concerts, and more.
