Geniet van ultramodern surround-geluid, luxe meubels, twee overdekte dekken en een prachtige serre met grote openslaande ramen met uitzicht op bos en bergen. Uitstekende plek om op uw gemak te lezen / schrijven terwijl u zich in het bos nestelt. Home is zeer comfortabel en mooi ingericht. Ruime slaapkamers, badkamers en keuken. Keuken heeft top van de lijn apparaten. Kenmore Elite wasmachine / droger. Meerdere afspeelapparaten houden het hele gezin bezig. Neem uw blue ray-schijven mee, sluit uw iPods aan, stream films op Netflix of surf op uw buis. NIEUW 60 inch groot scherm LED 1080P HD streaming wifi tv in woonkamer twee andere hd tv's in slaapkamers. De dubbele slaapkamer met een badkamer boven en een op het hoogste niveau is perfect voor 2 koppels of een gezin van vier. Een bonus computerruimte kan worden gebruikt voor werk of spel of als een extra slaapplaats. Zeer comfortabele queen size opblaasbare matras is beschikbaar. Je zult je zo comfortabel voelen in deze berghut dat je nooit meer weg wilt. Het landschap is adembenemend. In tegenstelling tot veel berghutten in het gebied die mooi maar afgelegen en robuust zijn, combineert Black Bear privacy met gemakkelijke toegang tot het huis en tot alle stad Black Mountain en de Blue Ridge te bieden heeft. Het huis ligt binnen de stadsgrenzen en heeft toegangswegen voor alle weersomstandigheden geplaveid. De serre is licht en helder. De beste plek geniet van een prachtig uitzicht op de omliggende bossen, bergen en het wilde leven. Twee dakramen met gemotoriseerde tinten laten de zon binnen en houden dingen warm en helder in de herfst en wintermaanden. Twee grote overdekte dekken op twee verdiepingen laten u genieten van de natuurlijke schoonheid of zitten in een schommelstoel nippen aan een fles wijn en kijken naar de zon onder gaan over de berghorizon.

Wonderful Mountain House

We loved this house! The double primary suite layout was perfect for us - 2 couple’s traveling together. The sun room was our favorite spot and we really enjoyed the television and the surround sound system. We we’re visiting friends in Black Mountain so the location was perfect. We also drove to Asheville for dinner one night - very easy drive - about 20 minutes. Overall, we thought it was a wonderful place. We hope to return soon!

Nice place good location

Everything was great. Black mountain is a really nice town. Had a little trouble adjusting the heat but got it figured out. Of course it was freezing the first couple of days. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area

Best of both worlds

My husband wanted to stay close to town. I wanted to be in the woods, more isolated. This property fit BOTH! Furnishings were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and it was very clean. We will def stay here again.

Relaxing and private

This property is private, spacious and relaxing in the woods. We had some some minor problems with burned out bulbs and a dirty toilet. The property owner was very responsive and noted with apology. Everything else was great. We loved sitting on the deck off the sunroom while the weather cooperated. We looked for bears and other wildlife and had no encounters.

Generally the home was fine. I think the description of the home is a bit overrated. It's quite dated, the layout is a bit strange (there's another review that talks about this in detail), and there were errors in the number of bathrooms hat were listed which was one of our primary considerstions for choosing this home. Otherwise, the location was great and communication with the host was good.

Relaxing Retreat

The house is as shown in photos. It was comfortable and had a very appreciated and generous supply of starter supplies such as hand soap, dish soap and paper towels. The owner was quick to respond to questions and called to see how our stay was going. The weather was exceptionally hot and humid during our stay, but the AC did a great job keeping the house cool. The Nest thermostat is easily adjustable with just a turn of the dial. The covered porch on the main level off the sunroom is totally surrounded by trees, has a nice table and chairs, and is a lovely spot for morning coffee, meals, or evening relaxing. The house is at the end of a very quiet Cul-de-sac shared with two other houses but feels very private as the other houses can't be seen through the woods. As was mentioned in a previous review, for pets there is no grass or lawn at all on the property. There is a flat area with gravel next to the garage that worked for our dog, or a short walk on the edge of the quiet street. On our first morning there we watched a very large black bear meandering around the driveway and street. Awesome! Highly recommend the Black Mountain Bistro for dinner. It has great outdoor seating, and the food is outstanding. Fresh Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta is very good, and also has a great covered outdoor eating area. The Flowering Bridge in Lake Lure was stunning, and we had a great outdoor lunch from The Lured Market and Grill. The streamside path from the Montreat Gate to the college is a great pet walk. Everywhere we encountered in the area was pet friendly. We would definitely return to Black Mountain again and would return to this house again. Thank you to the owners for being pet friendly!

Black Bear Retreat

Black Bear Retreat was our home in the woods for two weeks. We enjoyed very comfortable accommodations with a well-equipped kitchen, spacious first-floor bedroom with a very large walk-in closet and bathroom with a separate shower, soaking tub and vanity. The sunroom was delightful, surrounded by shade trees, making us feel as though we were in a tree house…a lovely place to enjoy socializing or reading. The location was ideal for us; on a secluded cul de sac, surrounded by beautiful woods but close to the interesting town of Black Mountain. Ed, the owner, was readily accessible by email to answer questions. The guest book in the home provides detailed information on operation of the Nest thermometer, the electronics (TVs, sound system, Wi-Fi) as well as restaurant reviews and places to visit. Would we stay here again...absolutely!

All in All a Great Place

We loved the place and location but feel some updating needs to be done. Both bathrooms and kitchen are out of date, the upstairs bath is small and cramped. Bath and kitchen towels are old, well used and stained - need complete replacement. King sheets/comforter set are outdated and the fitted sheet is too small for the mattress - had to put back on every day. Microwave is rusted and needs replacing. Even given all that, we absolutely loved our stay and location. The sunroom was my favorite room. We'd stay here again if it were still on VRBO.
