Black Ridge Cabin LLC

  • Relax with the whole family in this peaceful setting. Black Ridge Cabin is very secluded and quiet. It is off the road , overlooking a small creek where there is always water. Lots of windows to enjoy the scenic views and wildlife anytime of year. Ample space outside on the deck or around the firepit to enjoy nature, play in the creek and just relax. And an added bonus is that we are a hobby farm. So you can enjoy the fowl, peacocks, horses, and other animals. We also have stalls for your horses, and trails very near.
    The space
    Private, many outside spaces , comfortable indoor spaces. The cabin is located just off the road enough to be very quiet and private with nature all around, but not far enough to be difficult to access easily.
    It is located on our small hobby farm and just above a small creek. Outdoor spaces include a covered patio and a paver patio with a firepit for you to enjoy(firewood and starter materials provided). Close to Garden of the Gods, Rim Rock, Pounds Hollow Lake with a beach for swimming and the Iron Furnace, Cave in Rock and the river ferry to Kentucky are an easy drive away. Adjacent to the forest for easy access to trails for hiking and horseback riding. Bicycle trails at Glen O Jones Lake, a few miles away.
    Guest access
    You will have full access to our 20 acres hobby farm, including the barn where there are peacocks & pigeons located. Quiet low traffic road with access to trails for hiking or horseback riding. Stalls for your horses are located at the cabin and more in the barn.
    Other things to note
    You can interact with the small animals on our hobby farm if you like. Use caution around the horses. Sam is the dog guarding the animals. He is very friendly and loves pets. We do offer horse and buggy rides for a fee. We now have swings and a slide for the kids.

This was the perfect cabin for our family of four! We came to the area to hike the Garden of the Gods. Our kids were thrilled they also got to spend time with goats, a donkey, and the sweetest dog. We would absolutely stay again!

Amazing vacation spot! Will definitely be staying here again. The hosts were amazing. The cabin was BEAUTIFUL. A perfect quiet oasis away from city. 10/10 will recommend to anyone.

This was one of our favorite properties that we have ever visited. It was a cottage surrounded by woods with a great outdoor fire pit and chairs. It is on a farm so you have goats and ponies to feed if you wish. the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. It is the most well equipped rental unit that we have ever seen with everything you could possibly mean.

The property is gorgeous. Rocky ridge down to a rock bottom stream. And as a farmette, there are goats, a donkey and a fabuolous dog. If you're lucky you may get to enjoy watching a horse canter in the field. Also very close to Rim Rock and Ppunds Hollow hiking. Great place.

The cabin is very nice, the area is quiet and peaceful, we loved our stay in it, and the extras touches they offer made it special to us. Coffee and cream, games to play, firewood for the outdoor fire pit. And it's very near to lots of outdoor adventures at Shawnee National Forest.

This property is amazing!!!!!! Loved everything about it! The host was the sweetest! Very quiet rural place. Loved sitting on the porch- both inside and outside watching the birds and just relaxing. Great escape and close to lots of hiking and beautiful scenery! I soooo wanna go back!

We loved our stay here! Our 2 young kids (7y & 2y) loved the goats (super cute, and truly the friendliest and gentlest goats we have come across), small swingset, creek, and pond for fishing! There were also lots of toys, books, games, etc. to keep them entertained indoors. We loved it for the animals, outdoor area, and how easy it was to keep the kids entertained! We highly recommend, and would consider returning in the future!

We really like this place, it’s the only one we’ve ever gone back to more than once. It’s very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The outside area is absolutely fabulous. The covered porch, patio and fire pit all overlook the confluence of two very small creeks.We use it as a relaxing getaway, but there’s lots of great hiking in the area and the Ohio River is only twenty minutes away.The hosts are friendly and easy to communicate and get along with.

We stayed at Black Ridge for our spring break, coming from West Virginia, and it was amazing! The inside of the cabin was even better than we expected, very clean, and most basic amenities were already provided for! It’s not to far from most places, like garden of the gods and cave-in-rock; and, exploring the forest behind it as college students was great, and we found plenty of things to take home with us.

We had a great weekend stay! This property was cleaner and more private than other rentals that have other renters close to you. Well stocked with supplies that other places do not provide. Sitting by the fire while watching and listening to the creek below was the best! This will be my first choice for another stay in the area!

Cabin was very clean with many extras like coffee, coffee filters, powdered Cremora and sugar packets. Refrigerator actually had many types of condiments and host supplied a dozen eggs.!And instructions were clear cut had a load of wood, kindling, and firestarter material.Very peaceful and quiet and was perfect for just sitting back and relaxing, and doing all the things you like to do, but aren’t too busy in your normal life!

Our family stayed at Black Ridge cabin for a week during spring break. The house is absolutely beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! We got to play board games on the big dining room table and roast hotdog over the fire pit. We were close enough to visit all of the local parks and yet far enough out that we really felt like we were in nature. All of us enjoyed the buggy ride and our hosts were so kind and communicated very quickly.

This house and property are perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts provided so much for our comfort and enjoyment- fire making tools and wood, outdoor games, plenty of blankets and pillows and the best stocked kitchen ever. There was nothing we needed that wasn’t available.We enjoyed cave in the rock and garden of the gods.

Remote cabin with all the amenities!

We were absolutely blown away by the time and effort put into making our stay as amazing as they could! Getting to see the horses, goats and birds was a lovely way to wake up and start our morning! We will definitely be coming back again!

Clean, Peaceful Retreat

Wonderful host. So enjoyable to sit by the fire overlooking the creek for a nice little reset. Everything was so clean in and outside the cabin. They have everything ready for a nice stay. Perfect location to explore Shawnee National Forest. Or just stay and enjoy what is just outside the door.

This was the perfect out of the way place to stay! Had fires in the evening watching an array of birds, even a couple of owls flying around! Very quiet! There was even fresh eggs in the frig!! Well stocked kitchen!
