Inn at Kampfires is not a hotel, it's a century-old house renovated into several inn-style guest rooms located on a large private campground that hosts both RVs and tents. This makes it different from a typical hotel experience, which we appreciated, but probably the best way to review I@K is to list how it's services are different from a hotel.
The Inn does not have a front desk or guest services available after 8pm, a lobby, ice machines or vending machines, and some room amenities like cable TV, closets and ironing boards. It does have a very large campground/event space around it, a great play area, a large outdoor pool, mini-golf, a small convenience store, fire rings with firewood and picnic tables, a covered eating area, a game room, a self-serve breakfast bar with yogurt, cereal and fruit. There is a longish list of rules/policies they send to you ahead of time, and some annoying restrictions (self check-in after 8 pm, pool doesn't open until 10 am, only 2 devices allowed on free wifi). The room was comfortable and does have a fridge and coffeemaker. It's the sort of place you would probably like more than a typical hotel if you appreciated the grounds and amenities, and didn't mind missing the more predictable and service-oriented experience of a typical hotel. Definitely it would be best in the warmer months when the outdoor setting can be fully appreciated.
