Top!
Heel mooi boetiek hotel. Top gelegen aan zee met een prachtig uitzicht. Mooie kamer met bad voor het raam. Geen lift maar medewerkers helpen met de koffers te dragen of in een soort dienstliftje te plaatsen. Hele aardige medewerkers. Wel jammer dat ontbijt tot 10.00 uur is. We kwamen er om 9.50 en toen waren de vleeswaren op die ze niet meer wilden aanvullen omdat om 10.00 uur het ontbijt sluit. Wat erg opvalt in restaurants en barren is dat het personeel al een half uur van te voren gaat opruimen. Iets wat we door heel zuid Engeland ervaarde. Zal wel typisch Engels zijn maar geeft wel het gevoel dat het de bedoeling is dat je snel gaat.

Loved everything about this hotel
Very friendly staff who were happy to help with everyting. The room itself was amazing with a breath taking view from the bath. Had an epic stay and would def come back when in Brighton again.

Ik zou van wegen de zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaamheid dit hotel aanrader. Het bed was zeer comfortable. Een paar kleine min punten, weinig parkeerplaatsen (wij hadden wel geluk en konden voor het hotel parkeren) en de kamers hebben enkel glas dus zeezicht kamer aan de frisse kant maar dit werd wel opgelost met een kacheltje.

Wij hebben super genoten van ons verblijf bij Drakes.Ongeloofelijk ontvangst .Upgrade naar prachtige kamer helemaal boven onder het dak (wel geen lift), met zeezicht en bad in de kamer .Kleine ultra gezellige kamer. heel romantisch .Verse zeelucht.Heel confortabele bedden en heerlijke kussens. Lekker vegetarisch ontbijt (wel niet in de prijs begrepen ). Gratise krant .Zeker een adresje om terug naartoe te gaan.

I had such a wonderful stay at Drakes. The hotel is clean, you can control the room temperature, I didn’t hear any noise and slept through the night, the staff were all really friendly (even drawing out a map of recommended places to visit) and amazing views of the sea. It was the perfect tonic for the quiet weekend that I needed, I left feeling refreshed. I would highly recommend Drakes and hope to return soon.

The property was a boutique type hotel of a very good standard. The quality of bed and bedding was also excellent. Lots of high class hotel extras around the room (Dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries etc). My only and very minor gripe was that the TV and air conditioning were seemingly very complicated to operate and the addition of some simple instructions / welcome information pack in the room would have greatly assisted.

Staff were so welcoming and the room to a very high standard. The breakfast was excellent. Only minor issue was the very small shower/toilet cubicle. After showering the entire room was wet and there was not a lot of privacy fir toilet use (close proximity to the bed and could see through the glass doors).

The property was lovely. Staff were very helpful & supportive. Breakfast was very good. Our room was comfortable . We had a great view. There is no passenger lift but there is a luggage lift which helped moving luggage to & from our room.

Nice location, great staff but system issues
Great location and staff were really friendly and accommodating. However, the room we booked wasn’t the one we were allocated when we checked in. The room we had was very different and whilst I appreciate this seemed to be an issue with the hotels.com booking system, it was really disappointing. The breakfast menu has no vegan option which in 2023 (and especially in Brighton!) seems so odd. Room was clean apart from our bath which had what we thought was shards of glass all over one side of the base but it turned out to be pieces of clear plastic. Either way, it was obvious that a previous guest must have broken something and it was quite offputting to know it must have been missed during cleaning. All in all, we would stay again because the staff were lovely (and very apologetic about the room situation) but we were overall quite disappointed with the stay for the reasons I’ve said above.

Not a bad place, but also nothing high end. To access the bathroom I had to walk down a flight of stairs. Room had no view whatsoever. Looked directly at the roof of an adjacent structure. I would rate it at 3-3.5 stars. Staff was accommodating and pleasant.

Lovely hotel on Brighton Seafront
Lovely clean hotel in close proximity to Brighton sea front and town. The staff were so helpful and friendly, breakfast was tasty and bar was cosy. Something to note is that most rooms are only accessible by stairs

A Good Experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed a two night break at Drakes in Brighton.The hotel is well located on the front with easy access to the pier, pavoilion and lanes. We were slightly underwhelmed by the low key entrance and reception but the staff were delightful. Parking out the front was good and cost £15 per day. Our room was on the second floor at the rear which was very quiet but with a view over adjacent houses. Very comfortable bed and ample storeage but the bathroom was down a steep staircase of eight steps, not ideal at night. The room was very clean but the furnishings were tired and need replacing. Breakfast was very good and tasty. All in all a good experience but there is room for improvement in the furnishings.

Room was clean and the freestanding bath with views over the pier and the sea was a great feature. However, be aware that people can see in from the street! The decor and furniture were worn down and smelled musty. I felt this was disappointing, given the price of the room! Some of the pillows smelled horrible as if they had never been washed, so I was unable to use these. There were bigger pillows, but it was uncomfortable sleeping on them. It was very noisy due to seagulls circling outside and the main road being right outside the single-glazed windows. I didn't like the bathroom as the shower was not separated, so the whole bathroom was wet, meaning going to the toilet on a wet floor and having a wet toilet seat cover. I didn't like this as it made it very inconvenient. However, staff were very friendly and accommodating and apologised for the pillow, thanking us for the feedback. Overall, great view, but I wouldn't stay here again as I think it's not good value for money.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Drakes of Brighton, and especially liked the bathroom in our room! The staff were very friendly and the facilities were excellent. We will definitely be returning!

I booked and paid for a sea view and they said Expedia only booked a city view. The ergonomics of the rooms are ridiculous. They tried to update and modernize and compromised on too many things. It is not a good place. Closer to a 2 star

Great hotel in the perfect location.
Had a lovely overnight stay at here, room was compact but the huge bath was lovely and perfectly placed to watch the TV! The bed was really comfy with huge great pillows which is a nice change. Breakfast was really nice and served in their small but lovely restaurant downstairs. Overall a really nice stay :)
