Good location but difficulty to find the place. No sign in front of the building. You have to go to another place to check in and get the key. It’s not a five star hotel! It’ an apartment in a townhouse.

They double booked, so after a four hour trip me and my partner were told they were fully booked despite our booking and confirmation email and fully paid. Unhelpful and disappointing.

Not really recommended
We were given the basement Suite, so we didn't have much natural lighting. The staff were friendly and generally helpful but the general condition of the suite could not in our opinion be classified as luxury (loose tap in the kitchen, phone didn't work, curtain rail fell off the wall, we couldn't turn the hall light off, the toilet seat was loose, the toiletries were too small for two people) overall we were very disappointed. Whilst the suites are in a great strategic location, there was drug paraphernalia lying on the steps adjacent to the building and a lot of litter and rubbish in the street running up to the main hotel.

The staff was extreme kind and the room was quite large. It was a perfect location and we enjoyed it very much.

OK, but shabby
Our booking didn't go through as planned, but they accommodated us in a suite, as we booked. The room itself was fine, but was generally a bit 'shabby' and in places a bit dirty. We also booked a king bed and the bed was a double, but this might be due to the booking error. Parking on the road is a bit of a faff, with overnight lasting until 0900 and then only 2 hour stay permitted after that, so for ease, recommend using their car park, even if it is a tiny bit more expensive.

The heating in the bedroom wouldn’t work and the first night was freezing Espresso machine was missing a part so was unable to use this The hdmi lead wouldn’t fit to my laptop and was unable to get to projector to swap leads, had to go and buy an adaptor

Disappointed with the room but excellent location
Like a curate’s egg - good in parts. Charming room, up 5 steep flights of stairs. Definitely not the king size bed we were promised. Just enough room to walk around bed as long as you were not tall, as very low ceilings. Cute kitchenette in sitting room. Bathroom door lock broken. Windows really dirty and calling it a city view is a bit of a stretch. Cleaner left the room unlocked one day, not impressed. Wanted to love this hotel but really rather mediocre as a result of all the little faults. Raised this with hotel - they kept offering free parking but no other means of redress seemed to be available to reception staff. Heating didn’t seem to work either, maybe take an extra jumper!

ur Bristol stay
Stayed in lots of different accommodation whilst on regular trips to Bristol and this is a stand out for us. Nice location, clean and very comfortable with some lovely touches. Professional staff who came across as very caring as opposed to just doing their job. Heartily recommend.

Numerous problems with the property: dishwasher didn't work; broken cafetière (not replaced, although reported); stair lights would not turn off making it difficult to sleep; bathtub didn't drain. A generally tired property. Also, really difficult to check in, and no prior information provided - check in is at the Berkeley Sq Hotel and not at the property.

The suite we stayed in needs some attention. The settee is uncomfortable, the video projector remote is worn out and the carpets need replacing. There is black mould on the silicon filler in the bath area. There were spilled bins on the steps up on the day we arrived and while the bin bags had gone the next day, the spillage was still there.Otherwise a quirky interesting place to stay

Room was nice but not sure I’d put it in 5 star category (we were in one of the suites, but there was no air conditioning - on a very hot day - and the bathroom had an odd see-through door so you could see anything going on in there!)

The only disappointing/ inconvenient feature was taking a shower and then discovering a flooded bathroom floor which I dealt with using towels which I left on the shower tray. The shower door design is curious as it has gaps down the sides! I reported this about 6.00pm and was told someone would deal with it but, when I returned at 11.00pm everything was as I’d left it. This didn’t spoil my stay but I feel it could have been dealt with more quickly and someone could have reassured me it was OK to use. When I showered in the morning I managed with some difficulty to ensure the door wasn’t even splashed.

This place was an absolute dump. I paid nearly £500 for nothing better than a student house. It was dirty, ill laid out, falling apartwith no service whatsoever. The room cleaning the next day was non existent. The safe didn’t work. It had mice traps in the rooms.

I'm happy to give five stars after 3 stays in the Berkeley Suites. It's different, a bit quirky and a welcome change from the big chain hotels. Fine by me - but little things irritate, like the icing up of the fridge, which I mentioned when I stayed at the beginning of March - still the same during my next visit three weeks later. During my first stay in the hotel (rather than the suites) the heating didn't work - and the portable heater which they provided was equally duff. Replacing whoever is in charge of maintenance and housekeeping with someone who is a bit more on the ball would really turn this place into something rather special.

Lovely hotel in a great location. The room / suite was excellent with good faciities. Only gripe is that the hi tech tv projector didnt work !

After booking a suite I got a call to say that there wasn't actually a room available and would be moved to another hotel. The other hotel room booked wasn't a suite, cost £20 in return taxi and cost a lot more for food.

The suite life
The suites are AMAZING easily one of the best hotel experiences I have had. I stayed in suite 3 and from the moment I walked through the door I thought the suite was fantastic. The living room had a comfy sofa and a huge projector tv on the wall that also doubled as artwork when the TV was off. The hideaway kitchenette was a plus too although I didn’t use it. The bedroom was fantastic too. Bed was comfy and the on suite in the room was a nice feature too. Only downside was the ac was broken and it was a bit hot at night. I would stay again and will recommend the Berkeley suites too anyone staying in Bristol.
