Gezellige bergyurt op biologische boerderij

Onze gezellige, privé, rustieke bergyurt is een 30-voet ruimte gelegen in een bovenste veld verscholen in een beboste heuvel. Uitzicht op het oosten is geweldig voor het bekijken van de zonsopgang en een keuken en bijgebouw betekent dat je alles hebt wat je nodig hebt om de stad een paar dagen te verlaten. * De locatie biedt een sereen, intiem uitje voor koppels, kunstenaars of iedereen die op zoek is naar een beetje bewuste downtime en introspectie. De yurt is geïsoleerd en kan worden verwarmd door een houtkachel.

De ruimte

Omliggende velden zijn beschikbaar voor tentkamperen als u een groter evenement wilt organiseren en de yurt wilt gebruiken voor de keuken en verzamelruimte (het meubilair kan worden verwijderd). De yurt en de groene omgeving zijn geweldig voor wellnessretraites, geluidsbaden, yogaworkshops, kunstlessen en nog veel meer. Een onlangs gerenoveerde schuur is ook te huur voor evenementen en arrangementen met de yurt, catering en / of bloemenservices zijn beschikbaar.

Een volledig uitgeruste binnenkeuken bevindt zich op slechts een paar meter buiten de yurt. Een drop-toilet bijgebouw is ook vlakbij.

Rondleidingen op de boerderij, bloemenworkshops en gepersonaliseerde maaltijden van Blossom Kitchen and Catering, de vegetarische keuken op het terrein, zijn op aanvraag beschikbaar voor levering aan de yurt met een opzegtermijn van ten minste twee dagen.

De yurt heeft een queensize bed, een dressoir, twee nachtkastjes en twee banken en de keuken heeft een ontbijttafel met vier stoelen. Beddengoed inbegrepen.

Gast toegang

Tijdens besneeuwde wintermaanden is de yurt alleen toegankelijk voor voertuigen met wielaandrijving, hoewel parkeren in de schuur op ongeveer 100 meter afstand ligt. Wandel- en fietspaden liggen net buiten de oprit van de joert.

Bring your mountain bikes!

Think AMC hut, it's rustic and roomy not glamourous. And it was perfect for our family of four and the family dog to escape the city and spend July 4th weekend in VT. We sat in the field with a cup of coffee each morning listening to birds and watching the sun rise over the green mountains. The dark skies at night offered a great opportunity for stargazing and astronomy pictures. The yurt sits next to a great mt bike bike trail that I explored on foot with the dog. The kitchen is 20 steps away on a wooden walkway and functions but not especially inviting, we weren't brave enough to use the outdoor shower head.We'd love to return with our bikes next time and ride the trails. So not for everyone but if you're looking for a step up from camping and ready to embrace nature without bringing any gear this works well.Final note; not HCP accessible, however I have a prosthetic and had no issues with the slanted walkways and surrounding elevations.
Cozy at night, electricity and no Wifi so bring a book.

Okay stay

Really read through the reviews to know what to expect. The host did not send a pre arrival message; some of the details on the description vs the reviews vs reality are fuzzy. Due to the fact of no pre arrival message with details I sent a couple message ahead of the visit to Jill. She was prompt to answer. I specifically asked about water and parking. I was flying in and renting a car. I had a family event all weekend in the Monkton area. I have stayed in a couple yurts before with a range of amenities. The yurt was dry for my stay. The insulated window covers were still on and the day temps were in the 80’s. I messaged Jill on arrival if I could remove them. They were really attached, so I just kept the two doors open. One screen door had a one inch hole in it. I worried about bugs, but I was never bothered. The bed was very comfortable. The only improvement would be a fitted sheet on mattress instead of a top sheet. Furniture is thrifted, but seemed clean enough. The kitchen is confusing. There is a sink inside and it was hooked to water, but there is only cold water and leaks on the floor. I just used the hydrant outside to fill tea kettle and my water bottle. Beware that the stove, fridge (dorm fridge) and the lights in the yurt are all on one breaker. The breaker kept blowing while I was there. I only had a fan running in the yurt and used the stove to heat the tea kettle. Jill told me where to find breaker, it required kneeling in mud.Shower in barn nice.

The Yurt is cool. Expect to be camping, It is just camping in a lifted tent. mouse traps were out and there wasn't enough kindling and the wood that was left for us was under a plastic cover but the wood was on the wet ground and the condensation from the ground and the plastic on the top made all the wood wet and hard to burn so we were glad we stoped for "dry" wood. The out house roof was coming off and was a far walk from the yurt. You have to hook up the hoses for water yourself. The ramp to the yurt was poorly built and i fell pretty hard and smacked my head. The "shower" has no walls and to have to bathe naked on a working farm is meh. If no one was there the shower would have been cool. but with people out and about it was weird. This might be a better expierence for a night or two in the summer but defiantly not in winter / spring. the mud tracks made it extremely difficult to drive up and down to the yurt as well and low key thought I was going to rip off my exhaust and im at stock height. Loved the setting and the people however it is not as advertised and people thinking about going to the Yurt should ask ALOT more questions if going here.

Not the best place

This place was a little bit misleading. They really need more pictures and need to update pictures. We stayed Nov 10 to Nov 12, 2023 which is during the colder months. It would have been a lot better if the wood pile was closer to the yurt. And we noticed a lot of lady bugs and flys inside the yurt, mainly they stayed away from you but still. Overall if you are looking for a get away place, this is not it.

Cozy Yurt and Kitchen!!

I really loved staying in the yurt. There is no full bathroom, just the outhouse, but I got used to it very quickly. It was summer so I bathed in the creek! The grounds of the farm are amazing. There is a farm stand from 12-6. The path to the yurt is somewhat treacherous so watch your step and use a flashlight after dark. But it is WONDERFUL!! The town of Bristol is so cool. Jill is a great host and all the farm hands were super nice! This is a great, get away from civilization trip for those who love the outdoors and Vermont culture. I will definitely return!!

Rustic comfort

Tucked in the woods with all the comforts (coffee maker, kitchen supplies, electric blanket) and true to a rustic adventure (outdoor cold shower, outhouse, wood for fires), this yurt and add-on kitchen was just what we were looking for. The host was warm and easy going, gave us plenty of privacy.

If you love nature, this place is more or less a temporary heaven. The yurt is lovely and unique; the separate kitchen building is so cozy and comforting. Outdoor shower is cold but refreshing :) Outhouse is no problem.

We loved our anniversary/baby moon stay here! An easy drive to Burlington, Shelburne and Ticonderoga attractions while being a quiet, affordable and more remote place to stay. Jill was a wonderful host and answered any questions we texted. The farm stand also had great fresh options to purchase and my husband also enjoyed the fire pit one evening. Loved having access to a full kitchen, clean outhouse, and hot shower while still getting a campy/outdoorsy experience but with a super comfy bed.

Looking for cleanliness?

I don’t recommend if your looking for cleanliness to stay here. There was old pizza crust and mouse droppings in one of the drawers. Everything was dusty and there were dead bugs everywhere. Also it looks different in person (pictures need to be updated). The wood is stacked very far away and the wood stove handle is very fiddly.

romantic, much needed getaway!

What a sweet little spot! We walked the farm the last weekend of the summer, things were still in full bloom- flowers and veggies alike! It was a little bit of a drive to Burlington, but nice to be out of range of the city. We had more fun just hanging at the yurt than we expected, we could have just skipped downtown altogether! We will definitely look forward to returning here for another romantic getaway!

Amazing. Like camping but sleeping in a warm soft bed and jabbing a full kitchen to use. Somewhat remote, peaceful and quiet but close enough to see many sights in Vermont. The owner is great to work with.
