Charles Dickens was a regular visitor to Broadstairs and wrote David Copperfield whilst staying in what has been renamed Bleak House, look out for it on the cliff top above Viking Bay. Margate is a short drive away and is home to the Turner Contemporary art gallery, or take a half hour train ride to Canterbury and visit the famous Cathedral
