'This holiday home is the most perfect myself and partner have booked. The decor is absolutely amazing and a lot of thought had been put into it by the owners. It is impossible to pick any faults. The home was clean and high standard and quality of equipment and furnishings. Studying the ‘quirky’ decor was an enjoyable time spent. Simon and Lynne were so friendly without being intrusive. The advert does not do this place justice, it was above and beyond our expectations and we shall be back '

'I loved staying at this nicely decorated and modern suite in an old cocoa factory. I love quaint and historical surroundings but I also like modern fixtures and fittings to come home to! The kitchenette saved me a lot of money on dining out. The view out of the window of the river Foss and the ducks, geese, and swans was marvelous. 'In a nice quiet neighbourhood on the outskirts of York, with ample parking. This lovingly maintained townhouse was the perfect starting point for our city trip to York. A 15 minute walk by some fine architecture takes you to the heart of the city. Perfect for a family getaway. The connecting walls are a bit thin however, so you there is no ABSOLUTE silence when the neighbours are home.'

'We had a one night stay in a standard room while visiting friends in the area. Very expensive on a Saturday for what you get, but that’s York I suppose! The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. We brought our dog, the pet fee is £25 - bowls and a bed are provided in the room but you don’t get a welcome treat like in many pet-friendly hotels. It is a shame the Malmaison no longer has a stocked mini-bar in its rooms, and the toiletries are very basic now, they used to feel nice...

"Pluspunten: * Mooi oud hotel * gerenoveerd * zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel * zeer ruime kamer (superior de luxe) * prima bedden met goede dekbedden en kussens * heerlijk ontbijt, ruim buffet met daarnaast diverse bestel mogelijkheden voor warme gerechten aan de tafel, zoals full English breakfast of andere ei gerechten * restaurant en bar. Geen gebruik van gemaakt, maar zag er goed uit * koffers bewaar service Minpunten: * net te ver van het centrum en het station om steeds te lopen (ongeveer 20 minuten). Er stoppen diverse bussen praktisch voor het hotel. Enkele reis GBP 1,40 - 2,00 en een dagkaart slechts GBP 4,80. Helaas rijden ze ‘s avonds minder, ongeveer 2 à 3 keer per uur. Taxi’s zijn ook betaalbaar. Station - hotel ongeveer GBP 8,00 exclusief fooi * in het algemeen was de kamer zeer schoon, zeker de badkamer. Helaas wat vieze vlekken aan de onderkant van de gordijnen en een paar kleine vlekken op een hoeslaken. Dat hoort niet in een 4 sterren hotel * geen lift. Voor ons geen obstakel, maar misschien wel voor andere gasten. Alhoewel ik ervan uitga, dat het zeer vriendelijke personeel u helpt, mocht dat nodig zijn"
