Making Memories with Family

The cabin was perfect for our family vacation with our two daughters, their spouses and our six grandchildren. It was very convenient to town and lots to do with grandchildren. The cabin was equipped with lots of extras for infants and toddlers. We had plenty of room to have family time. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Spring Break near GSMNP

Family trip to explore quieter side of GSMNP. Good location close to town and trailheads. Mountain bike opportunities at Fire Mountain and Tsali. Owners easy to work with, clear instructions through the property - very accommodating.

Perfect Family Cabin

Perfect family getaway!

This cabin was absolutely beautiful and the perfect size for our group of 10. We booked this cabin to stay since it was close to the polar express. The additional directions given by the owners navigated us through the mountain roads without confusion. Upon arrival, the cabin was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. As a bonus we got snow flurries out first night which made the trip even more special. Prior to arrival the owners communicated all check in directions hours before check in and cabin contained a book with additional house instructions. Everything was so convenient and well planned that we never had to contact the owners. This was definitely a memorable family trip and we will be booking again soon!

Perfect for a family

Exactly as advertised! Perfect for our family of 4 + 2 grandparents. Comfortable and abundant living room seating. Pool table offered great entertainment as well. Bonus was it had kids plates and a high chair that we didn’t even know about when booking. Close to town while still being a bit isolated, great combo. Would definitely book again!

Perfect Secluded Getaway in Bryson City

My family and I recently stayed at Sophie's Choice, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the property was well-maintained and immaculately clean. The home itself was incredibly comfortable, offering all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was one of the highlights. Nestled in a secluded area within the Great Smoky Mountains, it provided us with the perfect escape from our busy lives. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, with the added benefit of being just a short drive away from Bryson City, Great Smoky National Park, Dollywood, etc. Overall, our stay was fantastic. The combination of comfort, cleanliness, and a great location made it an ideal retreat. I highly recommend Sophie's Choice for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty Great Smoky Mountains and Bryson City.

Very nice cabin with lots of room for the family. Very nice layout. Everything was very well organized. The host was very responsive to the questions I had. Location to town was very good. The advertised 5 acres is true but most of the acreage seemed to be above the cabin site. We did enjoy hiking up the cut road for exercise.

Beautiful, well-equipped home!

This home is beautiful! We had everything we needed except groceries. Well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, fire pit, horse shoes, games, towels & gas Fireplace. Very clean. We had a question for the property manager that was answered very promptly. It’s a steep drive to the cabin but well worth it! We hope to be back soon!

Family weekend getaway

Was a very pleasant weekend. The home was amazing, it even had a pac and play, a high chair and a toddler play table and chairs. The beds very comfortable, the hot tub was much needed after a day of sight seeing. Which was planned with the help of the information provided by the home host. Highly recommend.

Home was not as secluded as I would have liked. That's probably my fault for not being more investigative. House is up high but surrounded by many other homes.......along with dogs, barking dogs and visiting dogs. During the day and at night. I wasn't prepared for that. Love Bryson City so the visits there and lunches there made it an enjoyable time with my son and daughter.!

Great Spot for our Polar Express Adventure

This place was perfect for our family of 6 on our Polar Express trip. Easy access to downtown Bryson City, but far enough away to get that great isolated mountain home feel. Definitely recommend.

This landlord was exceptionally available and helpful to answer questions. The driveway is extremely steep, so be careful with vehicles that are not 4-wheel drive. Very well kept and stocked property! We loved our stay!!

The hosts are amazing! This is a beautiful property so convenient to downtown. Be sure to follow the hosts directions once you get to town. It is off the beaten path. Cabin is large, clean, and well appointed. Can’t wait to go back!

Great Family Stay!

We had a great stay at this property! Everything was as described. The home was clean and well equipped. Our family of six (plus our fur baby) had more than enough space. The views were great and we enjoyed the hot tub. Our little ones had a great time exploring the outdoor space. As to be expected with mountain properties, the ascent to the cabin is a bit steep and it would be ideal to arrive for the first time before dark but our 2WD SUV got the job done. Sue provides very detailed instructions, which come in handy. The hosts were very responsive, although everything was explained in detail ahead of time and great guides were provided on site so we didn’t have to contact them during our visit. Bryson City is a gem and this cabin made the perfect getaway for our family.

This place is beautiful and spacious. Perfect for two couples, an infant, and our dogs. We had a great long fall weekend with the hot tub and fire pit. Thanks to the hosts - they really made us feel welcome and made a great home for sharing.

Very Relaxing

The home is beautiful and relaxing. It is very close to town which is very convenient. As for some of the cons. The home appeared immaculate at first but soon realized that just a basic cleaning of the home is done in between guests. We found remnants from previous guests such as candy wrappers, popped balloons, etc. Not a deal breaker, just kinda shocking as they recommend leaving a tip for the housekeeper. The neighbors are a little closer that I thought, but still pretty private. Great directions are provided, but is still a little tricky to get to. Overall, a great experience and I would stay there again.

Family Fun

Sophie’s Choice was the perfect gathering place for our family from 3 different states to gather and get caught up. We had everything we needed to prepare meals, enjoy each other’s company inside relaxing in the living room, playing pool plus numerous outside spots: fire pit, patio tables, hot tub, etc… We had a fun day exploring Bryson City: lunch at PigsBarBQue was delicious and that’s the opinion of our experienced brisket and bar-b-que family chef, The Artsy Olive store in town is a must see - they have numerous types of olive oil, balsamic vinegars, sauces and spreads to sample and purchase:). A day tubing Deep Creek in GSMNP rounded out our visit. The directions provided by owner are necessary and precise; the road may seen a bit extreme, hubby described final approach as a billy goat trail, but doable with all our non 4wd vehicles. Don’t hesitate to rent this beautiful cabin if you want the peace and quiet of being away from it all but close to town & attractions.

Home away from Home

This was our 2nd stay at Sophie’s Choice with the grandchildren ages 7-16. When they heard we were planning a trip back to the area they begged to stay here again. They loved the pool table, hot tub, horseshoe and fire pit. Most of all the cabin is very comfortable and homey. Steve and Sue are great host and respond back quickly if you have any questions or concerns. We highly recommend this property.

Bachelors Weekend Stay

The hosts were very accommodating and communicated very well. Right from the very day I booked, I felt welcomed. Steven and Sue communicated several times before our check in date to make sure my group and I would be well taken care of. The location was great besides the last little bit to get to the cabin. But, they made sure to send us well written instructions along with the GPS that ensured we wouldnt be lost getting there. Once there the location was great for a private get away, thats also well within driving distance of anything you may need. Cabin was spacious, beautiful, and just what we needed to relax and get away. Hosts are very welcoming amd understanding. I definitely recommend this cabin if you are looking to get away with a big group in the Bryson City area.

Great Experience

We had a great experience the folks in town were friendly and inviting. The pool table was lots of fun. We enjoyed time in the hot tub. The experience on the mountain was great. Beware you will want a vehicle with all wheel drive unless you're ok walking up the drive way daily. We were worried the owner would be a bad experience because of all the rules but they were very kind and accommodating ( take care of the home) and you will also have a great experience. House is nice well maintained, comfortable beds and spacious. Overall great experience lots to do if youre ok with a little driving. We would love to return soon!

Wish we could have stayed longer

Our visit was perfect. Our purpose for vacationing in Bryson City was to ride the Polar Express, which made the location of this property very convenient. The owners' communications were timely, complete and welcoming. The cabin is beautiful and comfortable. The amenities made relaxing as a multigenerational family easy and stress-free.

Lovely Christmas!

Even though it was the coldest it’s been in a couple decades the cabin was wonderful and we even had snow to make it a white Christmas! The cabin was clean, well stocked and the fireplace helped keep it warm when the temps dipped to zero degrees! Steve and I spoke a few times and if needed I knew he would have been accommodating. I highly recommend this cabin when you want to visit the area.

Rushing Family Trip

The cabin is absolutely beautiful and well equipped with everything you need. My only negative comment would the drive through the neighborhood to get to you location. GPS took us directly to the cabin but there are very narrow roads up the mountain. I still give the overall stay 5 stars!!

Amazing home with tons of privacy, yet still very close to town

My wife and boys had a wonderful time, cooked hotdogs and smores on the camp fire, enjoyed the hot tub throughout the days and evenings. The boys loved that the Christmas tree was up. Just a overall wonderful place to stay for a getaway and for the polar express ride.
