No more caravans for me!!
Nice and clean chalet, good beds and gets the sun on the patio into the evening. Perfect for families and dog friendly too, what more could you want. Lovely area (Kilkhampton/Bude) also.

The property was well equipped, home from home, larger inside than I thought it would be , having 3 bedrooms was a bonus even though there was only 2 of us . I loved the look of the property , it was very peaceful during our stay . The swimming pool was also open . Helpful and Good communication from Peter . Thank you

Lovely spacious and clean
Perfect location , very clean . There were 8 of us in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone. Nice and quiet In the evenings . It was just a Perfect week away 🙂 My only complaint would be that the double bed was very hard but I suppose that's down to preference as I like a soft mattress. It didn't ruin my holiday so overall very happy indeed 😊

Booked less than 24hrs before arrival due to other prebooked accommodation being flooded. Peter was an excellent host and was able to answer any queries quickly for us. Beautiful accommodation, absolutely spotless on arrival, comfy, spacious and well equipped. Highly recommended for families.

Well maintained property, liked the ambience. Electricity is pre-paid and the shop that sells cards on site is open for limited hours on certain days only. Owner was proactive in informing us of this so was not an issue. The bathroom could have done with a bath mat.

the property was a very good size, clean and tidy. The actual site though [The mansion house] was shutting down the facilities due to lack of subscribers ..The people who own there. It's a shame as there was a nice looking indoor pool and sauna/fitness area we were not allowed access to. - It was a very enjoyable time apart from the weather but hey this was Cornwall in late october ..next time I book I'll try June .

Excellent stay in a very clean comfy lodge, everything we needed in a great location. Communications with the owner/manager faultless. Our stay was made so much better with the ease and no worry from booking right through to vacating . If we return to the area we will definitely return here.

OMG, BEST STAY EVER!!!
What a great chalet to stay in for our week away. Peter was very imformative prior to our stay and gave as much detail and answered any questions we had for him within a few hours. The Chalet itself, couldn't fault it. Great size bedrooms, great kitchen and worktop space compared to others we have stayed at. Plenty of sofa space for watching TV or just admiring the views out the patio windows... For dog owners, we thoroughly recommend Kilkhampton Common. Plenty of different routes to take, plenty of benches dotted around to rest up on and enjoy the views. Out two boys (both Lurcher/Collie Cross) absolutely loved it. Within easy reach of Bude and it's lovely beach and not far from the many tourist places to visit. 100% we will be back for another stay next year, but probably for 2 weeks next time :-D

Thanks for a great stay …. Location brilliant and a lovely place to stay .. Tidy and roomy so all in all a comfortable stay. Little things would be a barbecue to use and the use of the facilities or at least the swimming at Penstowe manor on the site but doesn’t take anything away from a great place. Thanks

Weather not great all week but because the lodge was so large and airy and clean we enjoyed our days
Most holiday let’s might say sleeps six but quite often the facility or space falls short this had it all for 8 people and lots of extras like halogen cooker hairdryer .. beautiful and clean everything fabulous quality Peter the owner was super quick at answering any questions abd very helpful even my dogs were truly at home .. would definitely come back again

Ultimative Rettung während Pandemie
Das Haus befindet sich in einer Ferienanlage, trotzdem ist es sehr Ruhig. Die Küche ist neu gemacht und perfect ausgestattet. Ich würde empfehlen auch davon ein Foto zu machen. Das Bad hat schon bessere Zeiten erlebt, dafür war der Duschvorhang nagelneu. Die Betten und Bettwäsche waren sauber. Die Betten haben unterschiedliche Matratzenhärte. Vorsicht: keine Handtücher. Leider, hat des Haus ein muffiges Geruch, vielleicht weil wegen des Lockdown es längere Zeit leer gestanden ist. Wir haben durchgehend gelüftet und so ist es bis Ende der Woche etwas besser geworden. Die geographische Lage zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten ist perfect. Insgesamt waren wir glücklich während dem half term break überhaupt ein Appartman zu bekommen. Schnelle Kommunikation. Dankeschön

Nice staycation, lovely sunsets
It is a quiet, peaceful location with beautiful sunsets and lovely field views. It has many beaches nearby. We visited Sandymouth bay beach and a great time. It was a ridiculously short drive away but worth driving because of all the beach kit we had! Disappointingly all the facilities are closed (pool, restaurant etc) - all that is open is a burger shack where you also need to buy electricity cards. Bring everything you need to use in the kitchen and bathroom - tea towels, toilet roll, hand soap, towels etc. There are handy DVDs and games in the cupboard near the TV.

The pictures of this property was not doing it enough justice. It was actually a lovely surprise as we found it alot nicer than what the pictures showed. Fabulous view with great surroundings. It's a shame that the swimming pool wasn't open yet. Overall a very good experience.

Great Relaxing Location with Bude just down the road
We booked this for the location to get some time away as a family with the space to relax. The communication from Peter before arrival was great with response same day each time. On arrival is was spotless which was very reassuring in the current times. We had everything we needed and 3 bedroom was great for our teenage family of 5. We are going back. Some tips... short drive to Morrisons in Bude for the shopping... Bude beach great and even closer was Sandymouth with less people.... and if you like a run/walk the Tamar Upper Lake was a perfect 5K lap with beautiful scenery. We did bring the bikes but did find the roads a bit narrow and busy for this ........ Great days out also to places like Newquay and Padstow. Thanks Peter

The property was really good value, it was clean and well equipped. It cost around £10 in pay as you go electric cards for the week. No Wi-Fi was unusual these days. It could do with a bit of renovation and modernisation. The double bed was really hard. But altogether a good experience.

Fantastic Location and a Lovely Lodge
Penstowe Park is a beautiful setting, so beautiful and peaceful. Only 10 mins in the car to Bude where you can find beautiful beaches, cafes, shops etc. The lodge was perfect for us, so spacious and clean and we woke up every day to a beautiful view of the country side from the big patio doors and on the patio area whilst eating breakfast. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Penstowe Park and there is usually lots going on in the Manor House and usually has a swimming pools open but due to covid this is not the case this year but we still found loads to do. The comminctaion with the owner was fantastic! The local area of Killhampton has a few take a ways and pubs, we tried The London Inn and it was lovely and within walking distance. We will definitely be returning, we love this place. See you soon Penstowe!!

Great Location
Overall we all had a wonderful time at Penstowe Manor, entertainment was fantastic. Our grand children were entertained from morning till late. The property was comfortable but just a few things to consider, PAT test need updating, windows were not cleaned, property not cleaned properly which was a shame. Yet we made the most of our stay , I think with a little tidying up of the property would help. As I said before it's the perfect place for all age groups and would go back again.

Pleasant Compact Cottage
This 3 bedroomed cottage was a delight to stay in with all the necessary equipment and amenities. We all enjoyed the warmth of the place as well as its location. Quite a large dining room / lounge could have benefitted from a much a larger TV which was hiding away in the corner of the room; but it did offer a wide range of Freeview channels. The bedrooms were sufficiently equipped with all necessary items, however the double bed was a little worn down; and I expect could benefit from tightening it up. Altogether a pleasant cottage and a great getaway.

The lodge was great value for us, our three teenage children and dog for a long weekend. It was spacious and in a good location within the park with a nice view and sense of space. The sun shone for us so we didn’t use the pool but it was a good size. The Bingo was fun, the rest of the entertainment was a bit dated and not for us as we had teenage kids, but the younger ones seemed to enjoy the disco. Thank you

Coastal path hub
Accommodation as advertised. Everything was there that we needed. Although weather was variable, porch area and french windows gave great opportunities for enjoying what sun there was. We took our dogs and it was perfect for them too. Hard, easy to clean floor. Site had great off-the-lead dog walking. One bar was closed because of off-season, the other was limited, in terms of food. Local village pubs made up for that. Highly recommended.

Great, roomy chalet in a lovely area,
Really nice property about 5 miles outside of Bude in the lovely village of Kilkhampton. Positives: 3 bedrooms, lots of crockery, quiet, swimming pool, on site entertainment. Negatives: no bathroom soap, no towels, no tea towel or washing up supplies. No WiFi apart from the main entertainment centre. These missing items made the first night quite difficulties felt a little unwelcoming . Also, there were no instructions for the hot water which meant I washed up by boiling the kettle till I worked it out. Despite all this we had a good trip. The area is beautiful.
