The property is in a good location, and the building is secure and quiet. The kitchen was well equipped, and when I messaged the host about the lack of hangers in the wardrobes, they were provided within a few hours, which was appreciated.Check-in was not ideal. The key was left in a lockbox at the base of a tree, which was an awkward way to start the stay when arriving with suitcases, and it would have been very difficult in the rain. A personal handover, with someone showing guests through the apartment, would make a much better first impression.Unfortunately, the apartment itself showed signs of poor maintenance. All the doors squeaked, which became quite disruptive with five of us moving between the bedrooms and bathrooms. In one bathroom, the shower pole collapsed while it was in use. The bedding was very basic and worn, the curtains in four of the bedrooms had come loose from several hooks, and the paint was peeling on some of the walls.A short-stay apartment advertised on VRBO should pay closer attention to these details and prepare the spaces properly so guests can enjoy a comfortable stay. With some maintenance and updated linen, this property could be a much better experience.Thanks
