The Shalimar Boutique Hotel

"We explicitly asked at check-in for a quiet room suitable for light sleepers. Unfortunately, our room was quite noisy. Workers could be heard talking loudly, shouting and laughing until around 1:00 AM, clearly audible from our room. After finally falling asleep, a boiler started running around 5:00 AM, followed by hallway music from 6:30 AM onwards. This made it difficult to get proper rest. We suggest keeping the hallway music off until at least 11:00 AM. Guests come to relax and enjoy a peaceful stay, and early morning music can be very disruptive. On the positive side, the room itself was excellent—very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also impressive, with a generous layout, high-quality finishes and a large shower with excellent water pressure. The hotel staff were outstanding, especially Bu Maria. Her kindness and professionalism made a real difference and helped make our stay enjoyable. We also had an amazing food experience at the Italian restaurant, and the breakfast was excellent. The only downside was that our egg order took almost 20 minutes. There were also quite a lot of mosquitoes at the Italian restaurant and during breakfast, which was uncomfortable. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel, facilities, food and especially the wonderful staff. With better noise management and mosquito control in the dining areas, this could have been an exceptional stay."

"Wat een enorm fijn hotel om te verblijven! Vriendelijk personeel, schone grote kamer en waanzinnig goed ontbijt. Restaurant is zondermeer goed met ruime keuze. Hotel huist ook een museum en een Vietnamees en Thais restaurant."
