Great location and house, but not the cleanest.
The house and location were wonderful, but we were dissapoined with the cleanliness of the property. The beautiful picture windows were dirty and full of cobwebs. The porch needed to be swept and furnature brushed off at least. And there was black mold all over the master shower ceiling. The other disappointment was that there was great outside furniture by the lake, but there weren't enough cushions for all the guests to sit comfortably.

Great Place to Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elk Lodge. We had plenty of room. We enjoyed the large patio and used the grill multiple times. We had a blast fishing (catch and release). We enjoyed playing pool and ping pong as well. That was nice to have since it rained a little during our stay. Vacasa was very quick to respond when we had an issue figuring out the TV.

Great lake house
Overall great house and is recommended. The only reason we did not give a 5 star throughout was because the air conditioner was not working properly the first night. The property manager did not respond until the next morning, however when she did respond she was very courteous and got the issue fixed quickly. The place is beautiful and a great family vacation spot. I will warn however that even when the AC was fixed the loft remains warm.

Great home, great location, a little worn down
The house is great, the dock is great and the water is great. The only thing I would change is the state of the house. While it is clean, it is a little worn down. Loose door handle, scuffed walls, worn decking on the dock, loose trash in the yard. The patio chair cushions need love and the dock storage is very snakey. If they were to make these changes to match the premium price of this house it could be the best one on the lake

Great return stay
We have stayed at Elk lodge several times and have always enjoyed it. It is a big place with plenty of rooms for a large family or family reunion type visit. It was clean and well-maintained, so previous reviewer concerns about inside maintenance have been addressed. The wonderful balcony/porch does get dusty so I would ask for more attention to making sure the outside furniture is cleaned off because it will get dust and debris every time the wind blows through. If you have someone with limited mobility in your group, they may have trouble getting down to the water and dock since the path is somewhat steep, although it is coated with nonslip surface but has no rails. Fishing at the dock was good with plenty of sunfish. The road to the property is still bumpy but only for about a block or so. Overall, we had a great trip, and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Easter Weekend
The interior of the house is nicely decorated and well maintained. It is a comfortable home and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the the lake with family. My 6 year old grand son loved fishing off the boat dock every day. He also enjoyed the kayak. The only thing missing was a pair of pot holders for getting things out of the oven. But that is minor and easily fixed.

Another VRBO/Vacasa disappointment
Spent my first hour of vacation speaking to two different vacasa reps because the door to get in did not work while my family including two senior citizens sat in the car. Once in dishes were dirty in drawers and dishwasher did not work. Stove light along with other indoor and outdoor lights out. Patio furniture was dirty. Property itself was nice - those managing have some work to do.

Grand Property- Needs TLC
Pros-beautiful home, very clean, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Plenty of space and privacy. Cons- The private drive/road is a pot-hole ridden donkey path. There is a large twisted oak tree trunk over part of the driveway, could barely get my compact hatchback under it. The parking is very tight, you will not fit more than 4 vehicles and there is no street parking allowed. The cabinet doors are broken, hinges pulled apart in kitchen and bathrooms. The railing all around the exterior is all chipping, cracked paint. Most of the outdoor furniture is broken or about to break. We would stay again, but it seems a little too expensive for the property maintenance that needs to be done.

That said we apologize for the condition of the road and want to note that it is not privately owned but a road that is shared with other properties on the street. Most cars are able to park without issue on the smooth cement driveway and as noted in the online listing, four is the maximum number of cars that can fit. We're glad to note that the kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors have been repaired and that the two rocking chairs outdoors have been fixed as well. We enjoyed having you as our guest and we hope to host you again.

Lovely home but needs some TLC
This home is beautiful but really disappointed in the lack of extra sheets blankets and pillows. This is a high end rental and these should be available and nice quality. 1 flat, old yucky pillow per person just doesn’t go with this kind of home. Granny is cold and not 1 extra sheet or blanket. I did call for extra and a lady did bring a few extra equally old crappy pillows and some old smelly blankets. I mean a trip to Home Goods or Target would be an inexpensive and wise investment. This is a corporate owned place so just know that going in. The other problem was the air would not cool the middle upstairs bedroom/ twin bed room very well. For this size house they need 2 units w 2 controls. It would be cold downstairs and hot upstairs. We had fans but still didn’t cool down til 3 am. Also be careful swimming right out the boat dock and pier. Several of us got cuts and one went in town to ER for stitches. There’s rocks, and some kind of barnacles etc. there are no Buoys in the water telling boaters and jet skiers to stay away from the homes and docks and slow down so it can get a little rough. Overall had a great time and the home is beautiful. Really enjoyed the large covered back patio and the awesome sun deck. Just needs some attention. Overall 4 out of 5

Family Reunion
This property was more beautiful in person than on line. Beautiful high end decor throughout, comfortable beds. Kids loved the sleigh beds upstairs along with a TV and all the adults had their own room. Plenty of bathrooms. Perfect location on the river, although far from Horse Shoe Bay, not too crowded and cool flowing river water, perfect for extremely hot Texas summer. Outdoor 2 story boat dock was perfect, nicely furnished for our needs, we brought our boat and left it in the lift. There were kayaks and a paddle board to use which was nice to have. Gorgeous sunset and hill views in the afternoons. Beautiful place!

Elk lodge review
This was an awesome property! We stayed for 5 days total and there was plenty enough to do. Loved the house and loved the lake. I would say we’re more on Colorado River side and it was pretty chilly. Wish it was warmer so we could actually get in but still beautiful. Very pet friendly, wouldn’t recommend for kids or seniors just because the backyard is very steep. The wildlife was awesome

Great stay at Elk House
The house was amazing!! It had everything we needed and more. The location of the home is perfect, as was the access to the river. The walk to the dock was a bit steep and there were alot of cobwebs on the Balcony, outside stairs, and the dock area. Those areas need a bit of TLC. Also, the large room upstairs with 4 beds was very nice, but the AC did not work well. It was hot, even with the fan on. I would recommend this home, it is awesome, and we loved that it allowed our two small dogs. thanks

Wonderful Lake House with Easy Access to Lake LBJ
My friends and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Elk Lodge, It was very clean and exactly as advertised when we arrived. The house is very inviting and comfortable, the porch and boat dock have spectacular views of the sunset. We were able to dock our rental boat on the boat dock over night. Overall my friends and I were extremely pleased with our stay at this lake house! Couldn't have been better! 10/10 great time

Second stay at this great property. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Well-maintained. Kayaks and paddle boards available but you will need to bring your own personal flotation device. The property was in perfect condition and clean and well maintained, it was exactly what we wanted. The listing itself could use a little tweaking - more description on type of grill (it was gas), let people know wood for the fire pits is provided, and also let people know life jackets are provided for kayaks & paddle boards. The good news is all of those things were available, I just thought it would be an extra selling feature and less confusion to let people know. The only weird thing was the fridge was unplugged when we got there. Luckily we noticed right away and plugged it back in and it worked great no problems, but if we hadn't noticed, we might have lost some food... I highly recommend Elk Lodge, we had a great stay!!!

Beautiful home right on the lake. Peaceful and relaxing. There is an incline walk from the boat dock to the house so make sure everyone is able bodied to walk uphill. Was great having a boat lift to keep our boat and hop on the water at anytime. Would definitely stay at this property again!

We loved this house. Fit our needs. We only had 11 but would have slept more.
Loved it. Jet ski launch was great, boat dock great and the position on the lake was awesome. House is wonderful and everyone loved it. Seating for all our family (11) of us was perfect and the house is beautiful. Fishing at night with the special green light on the upper deck was so much fun for the whole family. The slope to water is very steep and frankly very tiresome but we did it several times a day as we spent the majority of our time down on the dock. We found that if you walk down to the dock on the grass and then next to the fence in a water runoff cement area it was better. It only rained on us in a couple of spurts and did not last long but the walkway is very slippery when wet. Have fun and enjoy. Great house and location on the river. Just beautiful.

Note that it is a fairly steep climb between water and house, although there is a nice sidewalk it would still be difficult for some. Very roomy, comfortable, clean, well appointed. More attention to removing cobwebs and wasp nest in outside spaces is recommended.

We loved staying at this house! The property was everything we needed for our break from reality and the stress of every day life. From the giant porch outside of the house to the breezy top deck of the boat house- this place was set up for a good time! Our children enjoyed kayaking and playing on the water pad and the adults enjoyed down time on the decks while watching the kiddos. In the evenings the game room was the spot for ping pong fun parents v. Kids and dance parties. Can’t wait to book our next stay!

Rough start...
Booked the house in March for a family vacation. Received notifications that was all good to go. Arrived at house with 9 of my family members to a dirty house. Nothing had been clean or inspected. There was trash in the yard. I called Vacasa immediately and they contacted the property manager. She contacted me a short time later. One person came to clean a 5 bedroom house. Basically we got clean linens and bathrooms after 3.5 hours. We took care of everything else. The property manager said I’d be refunded the cleaning fee and we got a late check-out. Once the mishap was rectified, we were able to enjoy this truly beautiful property.

Family Reunion
This was a beautiful property for our family gathering. Our group consisted of older people who love to cook, and kitchen provided just about all that was needed. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms very clean, but we did have a problem with a broken toilet seat which was worked out. Having paddle boards and kayaks for the young at heart was great. The trek to and from the river was a bit challenging which could certainly be remedied with steps. Overall we had a nice stay and want to thank the owner and management for use of their property.

Great get away an hour from home
This property is as advertised and is absolutely gorgeous. We went during the week for a few nights and practically had the river to ourselves. With 6 adults and 8 kiddos, there was plenty of room to not trip over each other. Kids had a blast, adults did too. The house was spotless, and stocked with all the essentials. Launching our boat was nice and easy with the private boat ramp located around the corner. Our boats wakeboard tower was a little too wide to get onto the boat lift, but there was plenty of room to tie up next to it. There were kayaks and paddle boards, a huge water mat that the kids loved, ping pong, pool table, i didn't see a kid on an electronic device the whole time we were. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the walk way down to the water is super steep, and slick when wet. Not a big deal for the younger folks, but anyone that has a hard time getting around, may want to stay on the porch, which is awesome on its on. We all found ourselves a little sad when it came to leave. We will be booking Elk Lodge again in the future. Easily one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever been on.

Great weekend with entire family
Loved the house and all the space. We had family from 6 to 76 together and the bedroom/bathroom configuration was great for us. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms on the main floor. No steps to get into the house from the driveway with a great nice porch and views from the main floor as well. Excellent for our needs. Very nice furniture, bedding, and kitchenware. We had a great weekend. Visited the Longhorn Cavern and Perissos vineyard and winery very close by.
