De beste strandlocatie van Playa Grande is gelegen in het Las Baulas Nationaal Park en op slechts een steenworp afstand van het beste strand van Costa Rica, ook op korte loopafstand van het natuurreservaat Tamarindo, 4 uitstekende restaurants, een mini-markt en de watertaxi naar Tamarindo. Playa Grande is het belangrijkste neststrand voor de bedreigde lederschildpad.

Deze tropische schuilplaats is een traditioneel Costa Ricaanse, Spaanse koloniale strandhuis met twee slaapkamers, met Franse deuren en ramen in Frank Lloyd Wright-stijl. De schattige, klassieke casa is kunstzinnig ingericht en is zeer comfortabel, schoon, stil en ontspannend. Elke kamer met airconditioning heeft een eigen complete badkamer. De kingsize bedden zijn bedekt met luxe verenbedden en dekbedden met frisse dekbedden. Alle beddengoed zijn van uitstekende, hoogwaardige katoen. De keuken en woonkamer is ruim en luchtig met hoge plafonds gedetailleerd met prachtige lokale hardhout en veel zonovergoten ramen.

Het grote overdekte terras / veranda is klassiek betegeld en perfect voor loungen en dineren. Het kijkt uit over een privézwembad dat door de lokale bevolking is omschreven als 'Het meest sexy zwembad in Playa Grande'. Het pand is volledig omgeven door het natuurlijke tropische droge bos dat een privéparadijs biedt voor gasten en de vele exotische vogels, vlinders en andere flora en fauna die deze gezellige casita hun thuis noemen.

Hidden Gem is just what is posted. A nice house with an oasis outside! The bed gave us best sleeps we have had in a while. Access to beautiful beach 2.5 minutes walking. Enjoyed the option of pool and or beach! Host responded quickly to any questions. Loved the monkeys and birds near the house! Will go back!

We just returned from our second stay at this beautiful casita. It was an excellent stay and we will return. Playa Grande is one of the most beautiful, uncrowded beaches we've visited. We appreciated the location of this house even more this visit. It's a quick walk to the beach but just far enough down from the beach access path that we didn't have lots of parked cars in front of the house or foot traffic, like houses right by the path deal with. The yard is so serene and beautiful and all the gorgeous foliage makes so much shade that the temperature seems to drop by 10 degrees as soon as you enter the gate, a welcomed respite from the beach where shade is scarce.We just love the pool and the yard and the casita has everything we need for our family of four. Mike lives a short drive away and is extremely responsive and available if you need help with anything. That peace of mind made our stress-free vacation even more relaxing.Our 10 year old did a surf lesson with Surf Camp down the road and it was a very good experience. We ate at all our favorites again, including Pots and Bowls and Rip Jack. All excellent. You just can't go wrong booking a stay here!

We really enjoyed our visit. Location was awesome, walked on the beach every morning and evening….beautiful fairly secluded beach. Loved the pool and outside patio area…truly lived out there. A nice overhang off the house if you wanted to get out of the sun. Lots of good restaurants cafes within walking distance!The beds were super comfortable.if you wanted to spend any time in the living room couches were very uncomfortable. Grill was charcoal and you have to provide your own charcoal. There were no spices in the kitchen. We appreciated the beer and wine in the fridge. We would definitely stay here again!

Exceeded Expectations

My husband, kids (11 & 9) and I had a great time. The house was PERFECT for the four of us. It was exactly like the pictures except the pool, patio, and yard is even better in person. It was one of the prettiest residential pools I've seen and it was always spotless. You could always find a shaded place to relax and enjoy the serene landscaping and wildlife. We saw birds, lizards, giant moths, butterflies, squirrels, and monkeys. We walked to Cafe Mar Azul for dinner and breakfast and drove to Pots and Bowls (3 times!) and Rip Jack's. All excellent. Beach access was fast and simple. The house is 4 houses down from the access path. It doesn't get much more convenient than that. Waves were great for the boys to surf, boogie board and body surf. Bring mosquito repellant. an umbrella (if green season) and a headlamp or strong flashlight for walking back at night from one of the several restaurants nearby. Mike is a gracious host and extremely responsive. We look forward to returning.

Excellent House in Palm Beach Estates

Clean house with all the amenities needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. We loved spending the afternoons cooling off in the pool and the outdoor table for eating and family time. The outdoor fans were also a nice touch! We highly recommend this house.

Playa Grande Holiday

This home was perfect for the four of us. We are two couples, in our 60’s, and have been friends for years. The house is very well set up for two couples. We each had a large bedroom with an ensuite. Closets and cupboards in the bedrooms allowed us to unpack. Huge beds with quality sheets and duvets were sincerely appreciated. The host provides enough bath towels to allow for changing them. We also were provided large, absorbent beach towels. Each bedroom has a safe so you can lock your valuables. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, pots, glassware and utensils. A barbecue is provided but we went out for dinner every day. We barely used the living room as the outdoor living space was why we were there! The pool was THE BEST! I’ve never had my own private pool before and it was fabulous. We were in and out of the pool numerous times per day. We used the lounge chairs or sat at the table to eat, play games, work on the computer. We did not have any difficulty accessing the internet. I also must say it was great to have a washing machine and a dryer. We had packed lightly and it was so easy to launder our clothes. We chose not to rent a vehicle and we didn’t need one. We walked everywhere! The walk to the 5 km long Playa Grande took us 5 minutes. What an absolutely beautiful beach. We explored the area and walked to all the different restaurants. We had fun taking in the Super Bowl at Sugarees. Our host was the perfect host! Mike was attentive and responsive

Beautiful home!

We had traveled all over Costa Rica tbe first week and was so excited to have this relaxing week at this wonderful house. It is also a great location for exploring too. The pool was fantastic. Loved hearing the howler monkeys in the morning and evening. Easy walk to the mostly deserted feeling beach. Fun to watch the surfers and sunsets. Easy walk to a small grocery snd several restaurants. All very safe and beautiful area. Great outdoor area and bedrooms were very comfortable too. Woukd love to go back.

Bungalow close to the beach

The bungalow is a 2-minute walk from the beach, and the area is safe; our teens walked by themselves to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The house is typical Costa Rican and has all the conveniences needed. Mike was responsive and helpful throughout the week.

Best Vacation Ever!!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and the Sexy Pool was the perfect place as a base camp. Great house, pool and neighborhood. Playa Grande is an amazing beach and this comes from someone who lives in So Cal and goes to Hawaii and Mexico. Do the estuary, use Byron at the Greatful Hotel, he is hilarious. Enjoy the pool and the beach. You can skip Tamarindo unless you like tourist traps. Bring dollars because it is hard to get to ATMs once you are in Playa Grande.

Disappointing

We recently completed a 9 day stay as part of an overdue sabbatical, choosing this property specifically for the qualities listed ("peaceful" "quiet" "private"). Unfortunately, we learned from the owner onky after complaining mid way through our stay that a "construction boom" started in December 2022, after our initial deposit. Our "unfortunate luck" said Mike. However, we had plenty of time to find somewhere else and would have, had he shared this or if the listing was accurate. Instead, we were awoken daily before 7a to sound of hammering and cement saws immediately next door, everyday until sundown, and were greeted with construction workers looking down into the house and property. Many times the noise was so loud we were unable to sit and talk outside. Mike provided a 1 night refund after we complained, though we only asked that he update the listing. Construction may wrap up soon next door, but there are multiple other nearby projects also underway that were loud and other lots clearly being readied or for sale. We're long time VRBO customers and have come to trust listings and owners/reps. We have never had to complain or left a bad review. This was a major disappointment - mostly because we could have avoided if accurate, complete, and timely information had been provided.

The location of this property is fabulous. Two minutes from a great surfing beach and a great jumping off spot to explore this lovely country. The property is so relaxing and well appointed. Beds are comfortable and the covered area outside is lovely to relax during the heat and when it is raining. Mike was very responsive and helpful prior to and during our stay. Perfect for Adult Couple(s)

We were two adults. Nice neighborhood with houses and crushed gravel/dirt roads. Great local floral landscaping and fauna in yard. Birds, monkeys. Pool a far greater asset than we anticipated. Easy walking distance to beach. Slower paced than Tamarindo. Easy walk and boat taxi to Tamarindo. Large beach. National Park. Two small surf shops, one small market and several restaurants nearby. I was there to surf but there is far more to do. Very warm daytime temps. Uncrowded beach. Some home remodeling or construction in neighborhood. A little hard to find first time in. Give it a go; you'll like it.

Work in paradise! Sunsets to die for!

My husband and I, plus our 7 year old son, stayed here for a week and had the absolute best time. We were able to work online during the day and takes breaks to utilize the amazing pool or even do a quick walk to the beach. Each evening, we'd walk down to the ocean and watch the beautiful sunset, with a few surfers.. but the beach was never very busy. The water is perfect for kids to learn to boogie board or beginner surf! We saw lots of wildlife including monkeys, lizards, crabs, live sandollars, hermet crabs, sea snails, etc. My son was excited to just walk around the yard looking for lizards! Lots of dinner options within walking distance too! Overall, the property was clean, comfortable, and just perfect for the 3 of us. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Amazing House

Two couples stayed here to celebrate 40th birthdays for a week. This was the perfect home base. Not to far from hiking, horseback riding, great restaurants, surfing and so much more. The community is calm and quiet and the people are wonderful. The house was clean and exactly as advertised. There is construction going on next door but it was shockingly quiet. We woke up with the howler monkeys in the morning and enjoyed watching the babies play. We watched the sunset each evening. I miss it already! We will be back!

Perfect location, perfect hosts!

This is the third time we have stayed in Palm Beach Estates, but the first time at this location. The pool was spectacular, and we had everything we needed. Great Home in Playa Grande

We had a great time during our stay. The house was very nice. Location perfect. A quick little walk to the beach or for food. The beds were comfy. Mike was very responsive when we had a question. I would surely rebook if I am ever back in the area!

Great place to relax. My wife and 18 yr old son had a great time here. Good restaurants nearby, or walk down the beach and catch water taxi to taramindo. The drive there is a bit long but not bad once you settle into it. Mike was a fantastic host, the pool is great, comfortable beds and a short walk to a beautiful beach. We enjoyed sunset every night then a dip in the pool. Coffee with the birds in the morning ... it was all good.
